"are those beer barrels?"
the beer barrel is a noble instrument that takes many years of study and practice to fully master. ;P
The beer keg is a well beloved and crucial portion of any good Slipknot journey. But I definitely have to go with the "Wait and Bleed" and "Spit It Out" recommendations.
Slipknot has arguably been the biggest influence in the genre. Not only being the bridge from metal to radio rock bringing metal into the mainstream but Joey Jordison R.I.P is soley responsible for bring the double bass style to the mainstream audience. Aside from Corey, every other member has their roots in death metal and other hard genres and still go back to their roots with side projects. one of my all time favorite groups
uh sorry but no, Vinnie Paul was doing double bass in Pantera long before Slipknot came to be.. he just didn't play them constantly at extreme speed like Joey did.. Joey basically was playing with his feet what most drummers do with their hands and then with his hands was playing much higher pitched drums. ua-cam.com/video/aDACorIaxNw/v-deo.html
@@jaratt85he didn’t say he did it first he said he popularized it
@@Princebabayaga He said he "was solely responsible" that's not saying that he made it popular, that's saying he's the only one that did it.. Plus Pantera was HUGE back in the day. Hell Van Halen used double bass drums too and they were Pantera's idols, well them and Kiss. He also said that Slipknot was responsible for bringing metal to the radio and that's 100% not true... ever heard of METALLICA?!
@@jaratt85 He said JJ was the first one to bring it to the mainstream. He didn't say he was the first to ever do it at all.
@@rf9971 yeah.. and Pantera was mainstream in the 90's.. and you don't get more mainstream than Van Halen.
Corey definitely has his moments of growling and grit.
Joey was a mastermind. Amazing talent and gone much too soon.
Yes finally Slipknot, one of my absolute favorite lives and such a good song ."I was not expecting that" was my exact reaction the first time I heard that song 🤣. Corey has absolutely gorgeous clean voice. For more of that I recommend song Snuff the live acoustic version it's absolutely beautiful 🤗
Snuff acoustic is an absolute must!
@@richfranklin7597 most of slipknot live is the bomb ^^
Corey Taylor is the lead singer for Slipknot and Stone Sour AND he also does some solo stuff. Dude is amazing! Plus the entire bands for Slipknot and Stone Sour are also phenomenal so yeah HIGHLY encourage you to check out all that you can of both bands. Love the reactions and very happy that new people are checking out this amazing music! For a raw look at Corey's vocals check out Snuff the acoustic version.
You really need to do “Spit it Out, live at download 2009” it’s a must
I've seen a lot of crowds get into it & the performers control them... but never like that one. Corey had them all hypnotized!
Loved there wait and bleed original video... the mosh pit looked insane
Yeessssss
I was lucky enough to see them play a 23 song set this year and by far spit it out was my favorite they played.
I was there front row. Still keep trying to spot myself but just get into the show as I did in 09.
One of the best shows I ever been to.
Rip paul
Hell yes finally Slipknot
I recommend Unsainted and Nero Forte from their latest album, both certified bangers! Their older stuff is awesome too - Before I Forget, Vermilion, Spit It Out and Wait and Bleed to name a few. Great react! 🤟
Great Reaction! Slipknot is out on tour right now and Jinjer was supposed to be one of the opening bands for them, but had to cancel because of the war. Still thinking about Eugene, Vlad and Roman who are still in Ukraine and helping out to defend their country.
I second the recommendation for Corey Taylor singing Snuff. It's just Corey (no mask) playing acoustic guitar and singing a beautiful song.
“Are those beer kegs?”
(3 seconds later)
(Corey) “YEEAAHHHH!!!”
I saw Slipknot at Ozzfest in the 90's in Jersey. The drummers are wild to see live. One of them literally was bouncing around so hard he flung himself over the front of the drums. It was wild and everyone laughed. Such a great time.
Yes the drummer in this performance is Jay Weinberg. He has been their drummer since 2014 and is incredible. He has been the drummer on their last 2 albums, with the 3rd album with him in the band on the way very soon. He is only 31 now (23 when he joined) so he is a good 15-20 years younger than the other members of the band but he is a great fit for the band and is one the very best drummers out there :)
this band saved my life multiple times. corey is my idol and love when people experience them for the first time and get them. the whole band is a masterpiece as is but was so much better with joey paul and chris (chris is still alive just not in the band). check out some stuff off iowa if you want them at their best IMO.
Awesome ! I highly recommend snuff acoustic version by Corey Taylor, it’s an emotional ride but a hell of a beautiful song !
Yes!!!
Oh, Corey Taylor has an incredibly gentle and tuneful voice when he needs, and then one of the most aggressively controlled screaming/shouting voice to contrast it. Stone sour, his other band is worth checking out, particularly the songs Bother, the acoustic version of "song 3" and looking through the glass
The masks came about from wanting to be anonymous and counter to the cult of celebrity that was most of the music industry, so they made them horrific looking rather than the polished pretty of mainstream music. They all wore identical boiler suits with barcodes as well, but the costumes have evolved to be more elaborate as they’ve gone on
I love Slipknot. The first time I saw them was on the Pledge of Allegiance Tour back in 2001 and just saw them again on Knotfest 2021 tour here in Austin.
So glad I found your channel!! Beautiful, I love your energy and your taste in music!!
Indeed, welcome once again. Your stay will be rewarded by great epic music, live shows for sure.
"Killpop" is another amazing song ...so different for their style but there Cory shows his awesome voice switching screaming and singing.
if you want to hear more of his voice you should react to him singing "Snuff" live solo
Love me some Slipknot!!!! Great song and fantastic reaction. Amazing yet disturbing music video. This is the type of song you can feel. Hits you in the chest!!!
Disasterpiece live in London 2002 is hands down the time where all the OG members were together and when Slipknot was at their prime you definitely need to react to that one
Subscribed for more Slipknot! It’s always fun to watch yet another girl fall for Corey’s voice. This is my favorite band and I’m looking forward to this rabbit hole!
Best live concert I’ve ever been to hands down
Good reaction it’s nice to see people actually doing their research you’re also really pretty keep up the good work ❤
…and now im totally in love… you got the feeling and the understanding for what keeps me alive… big hug!😘
way back in the day when i first heard corey sing in his other band stone sour that's when i truly saw he could sing super clean and just have a beautiful voice
he is so damn versatile
This is such a good song!!
Yes! 🤘🏻🔥 When they released their debut album I couldn’t quite understand what I was listening to, they changed the game. The album is brutal, raw and chaotic in the best way possible.
Don’t feel bad for being late to the party, I have slept on many many bands lately. 😬 Duality is a great song, with these guys you can’t really go wrong, their discography is amazing.
Speaking of sleeping, one band that I slept on is Orbit Culture. I heard one song and I was sold right away.
If you like double bass then you definitely gonna like them.
North Star Of Nija (live in the studio) would be a good starting point.
Oh, and welcome to the Slipknot fam! 🙂🤙🏻
I think I have a crush.... I went to my very first slipknot show last Thursday... and holy shit... life changing!!! Subbed !
Very cool that you've stepped into the Slipknot rabbit hole! I hope you get to do reactions to Iron Maiden. They have some awesome live performances.
Nice! I'm glad you liked it. I hope you are encouraged to upload more slipknot content
Tool and Slipknot = instant sub. 2 of my all time faves.
The music video for this song is something to watch, even if you've already reacted to the live version!
Oh, and the "Left Behind" videoclip!
yesss ... my workout folder has a tonnnnn of Slipknot .... lol.. short list for ya to view ... Spit it out live is a must see.... and for music videos ... Left behind, Duality, and Psychosocial
Great live band
you really need to see them live. they’re even better in person. i’m definitely going to see them EVERY time they come around
love the video =) love to se more really heavy meatalband reaction ^^
Slipknot is everything
There so good live!
“I Definitely Love The Music Video To This Awesome Song Cause The Video is Insane”
Hi! First time commenting, but been watching your videos for a while. Especially the Rammstein ones have really resonated. I saw them live just before the pandemic hit, and was completely floored by Angst. One of the best music videos ever made with its artistic style and strong message.
Anyway, as a Finn I feel obliged to inform you of a couple Finnish bands that might be right up your alley: Atlas is a fairly new group from my hometown, but their sound is just amazing. Check e.g. Ukko or Taivaanranta (the song names are in Finnish but they sing in English. Mostly.). Another one which is just superb in their artistry is Swallow the Sun. Lots of heartbreak and raw emotion especially in their latest Moonflowers album. But check e.g. Cathedral Walls, Upon the Water or Enemy.
Cheerios! :)
You stumbled upon another absolutely amazing singer. Corey has so much range that you'd be impressed as a singer yourself. He does an amazing cover of Wicked Game. His solo stuff and acoustic songs are definitely something you need to check out.
There is something about seeing Slipknot live that is, for lack of a better word, indescribable. I've been to a ton of shows, Korn, Mudvayne, Metallica, Lamb of God, Dimmu Borgir... Slipknot hits different. It's the definition of a band that sounds better live than their studio projects. I definitely recommend adding seeing them perform to your bucket list.
Glad to hear you getting into Slipknot! Corey Taylor is one of my favorite vocalists of all time. I really like the intensity of all of their music. I hope you enjoy them!
I was in this crowd!! Knotfest 2014! Slipknot, Volbeat, 5FDP, Tech N9ne!!! Aaand Marilyn Manson (?) I think was that year(?) Sorry I've been to so many Knotfest/ Ozzfests I can't remember which band played in what year they're are all blurred together 😂
I've seen Slipknot so many times live. They ALWAYS put on the best shows. You have to see them live at least once in your life. You will not regret it 👍🏼
If you like Corey Taylor check out Stone Sour, that's his other band which is awesome as well. As for Slipknot songs, Psychosocial, Sulfer, Snuff, & Before I Forget are some of my favorites. Also, they are on tour now if you want to check them out live.
Crazy that you never listen to them, BUT. Better late than ever !!! Hahaha I love them, one of my favorite band for sure, I'm actually going to see them next month for the first time 🤘🤘
You have hit both of my favorite bands in one week. Got a chance to meet Corey Taylor in December and was absolutely the nicest guy. For a full Slipknot experience can I recommend the live version of spit it out. That really shows what Slipknot is all about.
Lamb of God, 11th Hour, Omerta, Walk With Me in Hell, Descending, Now You Have Something to Die for, Hourglass, Laid to Rest, and even though its just instruments, Ashes of the Wake
“Are those beer barrels, beer kegs” lol my exact thoughts when I got their debut album in 99 2 weeks before ozzfest, I was in awe of the sound of the drums my buddy and I were like how tf is this drummer making so much noise? We had no idea at the time there were 9 members of the band or that they basically had a 3 man percussion section lol then we saw them at ozzfest and it finally clicked
Hell yeah. Slipknot 🤘 I recommend The Heretic Anthem and People=shit. 2 must listen tracks from Slipknot. Well, actually they’re all must listens. ✌️
Slipknot is awesome. I only started listening about five years ago. I'll like the later stuff. Believe it or not now I watch BLACKPINK videos at all their content. I have not stopped smiling since what a trip. Beetle stones, zeppelin, Floyd, Neil Young, Skynyrd, etc. thank you
Brendon dirker, i know right rock demons live on 🤟🏻
I have been listening to slipknot since 1998. Prior to them blowing up at Ozzfest 1999. You mentioned the beer keg. There is a sound that is omnipresent in their music. A hollow tink/thud sound. After years and years of listening I can recognize the sound easily of a baseball bat hitting a beer keg.
Aileen: Are those beer kegs??
Corey Taylor: YEEEEAAAAHHHH!!!
Good to see the Slipknot reaction. For more "in your face" vocals you could try Machine Head...maybe Inperium
Love some Slipknot!🤘🔥 Recommendation for bands would be Static-X, Mushroomhead, Primus, The Amity Affliction
Down the rabbit hole you go! Damn good song, but if you wanna see the best live videos, check out anything Live in London 2002 (Disasterpieces) or Live at Download 2009, the Spit it Out performance is something you have to see for yourself. I’m seeing them again this summer, probably the best live show I’ve ever seen, and it gets better and louder each time.
@AlieenSenpai Reacts great reaction, you urgently need to see Slipknot LIVE Skin Ticket - Tokyo, Japan 2016
Paul (the Bass Player) died on an overdose, Joey was kicked out for drug abuse, he had a few good projects after (and during) Slipknot, but also died on overdose.
Most of them have great side projects worth listening, Shawn is in a Jazz Band, Sid has a HipHop thing, and so on
It wasn’t drugs for Joey. He had problems with his legs and couldn’t use them.
welcome to the family
The video of this song is great.
IT IS a rabit hole :) This is more recent, that is why it is so melodic. If you fell into the first two albums, it would have been what you expected. Anyway, tons of good stuff to explore. Just check anything from the Disasterpieces DVD concert.
His voice really is something
Corey Taylor is also the lead singer of Stone Sour. Both bands are absolutely amazing. Corey's voice is phenomenal. I've been listening to Slipknot since 2000-01 when I heard "Wait and Bleed". Also saw Slipknot live at Mayhem Fest in 2008.
Ametuer, singer.. u say..
Most definitely you'll pull off the vocals and most definitely his accoustic as well.. been watching your videos 🤘🎧
And stone sour is a good band too.. for sure u you know.. looking forward to some more videos.. I have no suggestions for now.. I like 80s and 90s matellica, pentera and etc..
Splitnot Live is like NO OTHER! Matt C.
Jay Weinberg is the drummer that replaced Joey. Jay is the son of Max Weinberg of the E Street Band, the band that backs Bruce Springstein, and, also was the band leader for Conan O'Brien's original talk show
This song always get me pumped up when I listen 2 it.. Plus ur listening 2 the live version u need 2 listen 2 the music video sounds way better
Yes the main vocalist is Cory Taylor and yes the drummer that replaced Joey Jordison is jay weinberg
Can't wait to see you review psychosocial pumping tune 🤟🤟
Nice music 🎶
This song was about Pauls addiction, I didn't see any comments mentioning it so thought I would comment. Paul was two different people and would not admit to his addiction which ultimately killed him and Corey was affected deeply with how that ended. Listen to the lyrics again and you can tie this together. Love the hair color! Try IOWA album, there's some early good stuff there.
Met the lead singer twice. Hes awesome
No, Slipknot are not typical as you were expecting. That is what makes them so unique and great and not like all the other typical metal bands of today. Just like Metallica, you never know what you're going to get and that = talent!
The drummer Jay Weinberg is the son of Max Weinberg who is the drummer for Bruce Springsteen as well as Conan O'Brien. But more importantly if you enjoy the drumming you should check out the Caleb H Drummer channel. You will not be disappointed. I've seen Slipknot multiple times with Joey and even saw Joey fill in for Korn. Joey was a Beast! Corey is an amazing vocal talent. Glad you are going down the rabbit hole.
you should definitely check out the video. great reactions ✌️
If you want Corey Taylor as raw as it gets, check out his solo acoustic performance of the slipknot song Snuff. Can’t miss it, has millions of views, and just incredible.
Omg please do snuff Corey really knocks it out of the park 😭 in the live version
Beer kegs are such a great part of their sound. You should check out All Out Life and Custer. I saw them live at Rockville(annual 3 day music event her in JAX FL), Corey had everyone sit on the ground and jump when the beat dropped. One of the best performances I have ever seen.
Did you ever watch Conon Obrien show? The drummer was Max Weinberg. His son is now the drummer of slipknot.
I was at this show
this song is my ringtone on my phone
You gotta do spit it out, and solway firth!!!
you can hear his great voice on his other band stone sour...listen to Tired or Influence of a dowsy God... one of my favorites is Monolith and Tumult
I'd love to see your take on Korn ( blind, and shoots and ladders) to start two of there first songs. Jonathan Davis was revolutionary in the Nu-Metal genre..
Please do Cemetery Gates by Pantera. The full version. One of the best vocal performances in metal and a beautiful song. I think you'd like Pantera.
Not a recommendation, but there’s this UA-cam series called The Therapist and there’s an episode with Corey Taylor. He opens up a lot about his youth and the things that happened to him and you can really hear how well spoken and smart he is. It is some serious stuff though.
We need a reaction to Paradise by Dreamwake. Great song with a very surprising breakdown. Have to get this awesome band and song out there.
You should react to “Custer” live too! 🤘🤘🤘
Should have started with something off the Iowa album. Left Behind or People = Shit would be my recommendations.
But glad to see you're getting to Slipknot.
check out wait and bleed, the animated video version, it has puppet master vibes.
Same show, but do Custer by Slipknot. Probably my favorite song by Slipknot.
If you like this live version. Listen to Psychosocial Live from Day of the Gusano was recorded in Mexico.
You should react to “snuff” (acoustic) Corey solo in London
Great choice yet again. If I could make a request, it would be for you to react to "Lyfjaberg" by Wardruna. I think you will enjoy it.
01:54 only left and right is ber "cans" but middle are surdo drums. ( If You do not now ..Surdos used in samba rythms and carnevals. )
