    Thank you for this video, it was very helpful. I would caution everyone about buying the LG fridge tho. The same week my 6yo LG broke down, LG announced a class action lawsuit settlement on their compressors. That was the problem with my fridge too, but it was a couple weeks of Customer Service Hell and $135 to find out that it also needed a new control board that is no longer manufactured. LG could not tell me how many MONTHS is would take to get that. Your video just confirmed for me (along with other articles) that the Whirlpool is the best buy.

      I heard about their linear compressor issues. Hats the one thing keeping me from buying a LG.

    I almost bought that KitchenAid model today but our fridge depth space is 30 1/2 inches and that fridge depth is about 36 inches. It was about 2,500 because it was the floor model on clearance.

    LG models def have cool features, but they break often and the network of service providers to fix them all terrible. Buy a Whirlpool. All refrigerators have problems, but this is the least bad of all the consumer brands. More importantly - they have a very good network of service providers to resolve issues - UNLIKE LG.

    Funny how it started with the most reliable to least (owned them all aside that my LG had the knock window)

      All those extras just break. I haven’t owned a LG, but I have never had a reliable Korean built appliance. I think whirlpool is the sweet spot.

    I would like a french door but I hear they have too many problems with ice on the door. I'd get one with water on the inside and ice in the freezer part or just go headache proof and tolerate a side-by-side.

      Bosch has a lovely four-door counter depth 36-inch wide, with ice in the freezer and a water chiller in the fridge. Saw it at Home Depot on Sidney Marcus Blvd in Atlanta.
      Problem is, it's a counter depth, barely 21 cubic feet. Beautiful machine, but $3500 for restricted depth and doors that won't open if installed in my space, I'll have to shop elsewhere.

    Our Kitchen Aid (same model) just failed @ 3years 1 month! Luckily I had a 5year warranty. This model is known for breakdowns. After five visits from a repair tech, unrepairable. Not "the best."

    We have the LG. Nice features, BUT we've already replaced the compressor at 2 year mark. And it's making NOISE again. So we'll probably be enjoying another encounter with LG service.

      What model is your LG? Would you recommend LG? I just bought one based on good reviews. I have read that lack of LG service techs makes for a horrible experience.

    My LG french door lasted less than 5 years and LG didn't warranty anything other than just the compressor, but not the pcb that needed to also be replaced, the control valves or anything else. They are garbage and have terrible customer service

    • @kenkopczyk
      @kenkopczyk 2 роки тому +1

      Same. LG french door with their "linear compressor" is subject to a class action lawsuit. Unfortunately, it's impossible to get it fixed without jumping through hoops for several months. They just bank on you giving up. LG does not standby their warranty and their network of repair service providers are incompetent and never have the parts to fix it. Buy one of the Whirlpool brands. They are USA based and have a bunch better network of authorized service providers in the event things go south.

    These reviews of good-best are based on bells and whistles. Look up that Kitchenaid model and you’ll see what you’re in for. I say this as RC Willy just gave me a 100% refund on the kitchenaid fridge I bought 5 years ago.

    when do you think Whirlpool will get their fridges in stock?

  • @scarrollodi

    We just got a new Frigidaire 2750 model and the fan(s) seem to run 23-24 hours a day. Fridge temp set at 36 and freezer at 4 degrees and set up 3 inches from back wall and on sides. I understand that newer models compressors run much more often at lower speeds to save energy but having the fan(s) run constantly uses energy and will make them wear out soon. We will see the truth when our electric bill comes as we are in Florida so have not used any Heat or A/C all month...

    • @dh8677

      How's the Frigidaire working? I'm doing research between Frigidaire and Whirlpool to decide which one to get. So far everyone says stay away from Samsung and LG. haha

    Thanks for the video. I have this question. Will any French door fit in an opening that is width 39 in, height 68 in, depth 32 1/2 in.. I can remove the cabinet above the current opening to take care of a 70 inch. But what about when the door is open at 90°? Will it fit within the 39" opening?

    • @5610winston
      @5610winston 2 роки тому +1

      If you want to access the drawers in the fridge, you'll need to open the door wider than 90 degrees for the drawers to clear the door bins, Be sure to check it in the showroom before you bring it home.
