Helicopter accident results in the death of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi

- Five days of national mourning have been declared in Iran following the death of the country's President Ebrahim Raisi. He died in a helicopter crash on Sunday, along with the other eight people on board - including the country’s foreign minister Hossein Amir Abdo-lahian. The helicopter crashed in a mountainous region and the location of the wreckage was discovered by a Turkish drone. News of the president’s death was announced by state media early on Monday morning.

It isn't as simple as that. Khomeini hoped that the current president continues till he systematically eases his son to become the next supreme leader. Now, there will be a huge power struggle.
