@@Umeed806 im not Gilly hater. just to be clear. if Gilly was good enough back then he would have made his debut at age 20. I just checked, he made his list-A and first-class debut at age of 22. He didn't even play for Australian U-19.
@@InderjitSingh12 Dude gilly already had played around 73 ODIs and made 5 odi centuries before making his test debut in 1999. He made his ODI debut in 1996 and First class debut in 1992. Gilchrist managed to replace healy in the odi due to healy 's pathetic batting but healy kept on blocking gilly's test spot for 3 fricking years.

As an avid Australia fan, I can't stop feeling sorry for the fact as to how wasteful Ian Healy was for Australia in the later part of 1990s, he should have retired after 1995 to make way for Gilly. Okay now, I agree Healy was a great keeper, but he wasn't even quarter of the batsman Gilchrist was.. Gilchrist may not have been as great as Healy in keeping but he was still a brilliant keeper! Gilchrist as a whole was Australia's greatest asset. In 10 years he achieved way more than Dhoni did in 15 years!
