I was listening to to your mom and it hurt as I got divorced and my 4 children were effected negatively so bad. We said the rosary together, we watched mother Angelica and I never ever thought it would happen but it did. Now all my children have suffered.

I had always thought that it was similar to abortion in that it's not right to take the life of someone who can't defend themselves. (in the case of death penalty, usually the person is restrained in some way). But I was briefly discussing with a fellow Catholic Christian, and he said that the death penalty was in the Old Testament (didn't give any references), so we good to use it. We know Jesus came to fulfill the Old Testament, but didn't know how the view on the death penalty might have changed. I could understand his point rationalizing the death penalty as a sort of "preemptive" self defense if you and everyone else thinks the person will try to murder again. And being that God, supposedly, instilled the death penalty seems to give it credit. But executing someone unarmed (in the moment) still feels a bit like murder to me. I asked, "What if the person had or will have a conversion to God in the future?" He replied with, "maybe the person needs to be on death row to have a conversion." Kind of confused on this and would like to know what the Church teaches. Thank you!
It makes sense that the Ark of the Covenant (Mary) would be unstained and pure. Why would the Son of God become incarnate in a sinful womb? Protestants please take note. Mary is not just a poor, humble teenage Jewish girl. She is God’s Mother.
