@@olig1851 43ish now... I wonder if KittyKeo thinks back about how quickly the last 11 years have gone by, and that in a another flash they will be in their mid-fifties.... Which I think is old enough to get senior discounts for breakfast in a lot of places. teeeheee
I was having a shower one evening when Fade into you started playing I stopped to listen and hit repeat once it ended. Now a year later I listen to MazzyStar EVERY night before bed, I can’t explain it but their music satisfies my brainwaves in the most relaxing way. Sometimes I wake up in the middle of a song I smile and go right back to sleep.
Mm, this song brings so many memories, I hope to anyone that discovers Blue light, to cherish every positive second, life itself is so fucking hard, especially in those times, so.. thanks Mazzy Star, this melody gives somehow some hope...
Like many Mazzy Star songs, this song almost puts me in some kind of hypnotic trance. But in a good way. I love the songs from the MTV sessions filmed in yes, blue light. Hope and David are such a phenomenal musical pair for sure. RIP David, you gave us great music to live on.
I love that music. Bluesy, and relaxing. It kinda reminds me of "I got the blues" By the Rolling Stones for some reason. Mazzy's CD is great. That and She Hangs Brightly.
I love Mazzy Star. So magic, so stunning, so wonderful . The perfect combination of a singer so sweet voice , a great drummer and guitar. Complete and magic!!! Love all songs. I dont know why i love them much more now than I loved than back in the 90s.
I first heard of Mazzy Star years ago through one of our local bands 'Falling Joys' (Australia). I used to lay in bed at night; falling asleep to 'Falling Joys' and in one of their songs 'Mazzy Star' was mentioned. I was loving the double entendre of listening to a band that was listening to a band.
I echo what Denise said, I am very sorry for your loss and she is exactly right. This song found me again today, when I really needed it. Sometimes this world doesn't make any sense at all, and it feels cruel and empty. This song really helps with that feeling. I send my love to all who've been touched by this song. I suppose we're all connected in that way.
There was coincidentally a blue light on, a single bulb, in the room I first heard this... in 1995 at the college apartment of a friend of my friend, just getting into shoegaze, other psych rock... will never forget that time which propelled me into writing songs in the same genres. Top 3 for me of all Mazzy Star songs, maybe #1.
I remember buying this album when it first came out.It was depressing, calming, and giddy at the same time.I never could achieve that state of depression again.I missed the comfort in being sad.
A song about an extra terrestrial encounter? Who knows. Wonderfully enchanting; I keep coming back to this clip. Thank you Dave Roback & the Mazzy star ensemble. See you on the other side, Dave.
Television was never an "idiot box" when Hope, Dave, & Co., happened to be on the screen & coming from the speakers, which, sadly, did not happen often enough on '90s TVs. But thanks to YT today, Mazzy fans can now create their own special, custom designed MTV - as in: 'M(azzy) TV" - channel, with as much Mazzy Star content, all chosen by the viewer, as one wants! Isn't modern technology wonderful?
The smoke of cigarettes filling the air, while a glass of whiskey is gently waiting next to me and a David Lynch movie is playing in the background, all surrounded by the warm embrace of Hope's voice. That is how I see this song in perfection.

One of few songs i don't like to share... too precious.
+Firdevs Sezgin im thinking about sharing, then i read your comment, yeah too precious :p
+CookieeMonstarr666 Good good..let's just keep it to ourselves...they probably wouldn't "get" it anyways, which is in itself also good :-)
Omg please never share this song with another Turkish guy, promise?
*_imagine finding someone precious enough to share it with..._*
6 yıl olmuş :) ne var ne yok? iyisindir umarım.
Yes, I was 14 and now I am 32, still stuck with this in my head. And Hope Sandoval still makes me jealous of her beautiful voice and beautiful looks
now you're 41? Bet it's gone quickly eh
It sure the fuck has!

I'm the same age as you. I'll never shake this song.
this song's calming effect is phenomenal
hearing this while tripping was the best thing I've ever experienced
This song has brought me such comfort during times of unimaginable grief. Thank you, Hope.
RIP David, one of the greatest psych guitarist in history of rock music
Amen RIP
dude, you aren't kidding
One of my favorites. This song just makes me wanna take off running as fast as I can to see if I can catch the 90's before it's gone forever.
I wish we could see her. I know she doesn't like the spotlight, but really. I love, love , love Mazzy Star and Hope.
Songs like this make you feel that you exist or somehow that you're someone that matters
RIP, David Roback. :(
When MTV played good music... Or music at all for that matter.
U got that right dude! After the 90s it went down...MS is tops.
Seriously
This song reminded me of my best friend for over 14 years, he passed away a couple of days ago. Now it means so much more to me.
my condolences for your loss … is your thumbnail a pic of you or Hope?
I remember when this came out in 1993. A reviewer back then described them as Patsy Cline fronting the Velvet Underground which sounds about right.
Coming down off some strong acid this disc is the only thing that kept me walking the edge of sanity
That is the most 90s thing EVER.
This song gives me the sweetest heartache :'x
The guitarist gets it man.. such sweet sounds
He has a beautiful touch and the tone is perfect for the mood

And this version is so good just like the studio version. They know their routine well, to be sure. This is my favorite Mazzy Star song.
Same here love this song
this sounds like a lost "Velvet Underground" song....especially when the lead guitar comes in
Better than VU

This song has been in my head for a couple of days. She loves him, but she can't stay.
No auto tune crap. Just pure talent. Hard to find these days...
very true
talent at its Best
Plenty of people can still sing you're just blinded by nostalgia
Yeah that is why no acoustic live shows exist today.

quem é que tem a capacidade de dar deslike nessa perfeição?
I spent an afternoon writing -- and was listening to this tune on 'repeat'...
There are not many pieces of music which you can do that with...
This is gold.
This live version is better than the album version. The solo is missing something in the album version, whereas this version is perfect.
So true.
Feel man it’s the feel ... studio can’t produce the feel that live does
forever and ever
Cant tire of hearing this song.
The best music is the underrated music...

Essa me lembra dos meus dias angustiantes nas praias em bombinhas. E de um amor que se foi que nunca vou esquecer.
This was the best make out album of the 90s.
I don't have words to express

underrated song
I have to say she was very mesmerizing, hypnotic even. Perfect soundtrack for a David Lynch movie.
Would for sure have been a perfect match! Especially since the "blue light" is very present in Lynch's films.
very few but what a joy when you find them.
