I'm afraid the English gypsy have forgotten where they come .wealth greed drugs .everything that made us has gone forever .my children will never understand the childhood we had the love the sharing friends like family .we had nothing but we had what money couldn't buy .but time passes and the greed soon reached us .moving around the country meeting new people working running through the feilds living of the land .memory's is all that's left

"Ederlezi" is a popular traditional folk song of the Romani minority in the Serbian. The song got its name from Ederlezi which is a Spring festival, celebrating the return of springtime, celebrated especially by Romani people in the Balkans, Turkey and elsewhere around the world. Ederlezi is the Romani name for the Bulgarian, Macedonian and Serbian Feast of Saint George. It is celebrated on 6 May [O.S. 23 April] (occurring approximately 40 days after the spring equinox). The various Balkan spellings (Herdeljez, Erdelezi) are variants of the Turkish Hıdırellez, a holiday signaling the beginning of spring, occurring on the same day.Goran Bregović also recorded a version with Polish lyrics, titled "Nie ma, nie ma ciebie", together with Polish singer Kayah. The band Beirut, Italian saxophonist Daniele Sepe, and the Boston-based band Bury Me Standing also do covers of "Ederlezi". The Gypsy Rebels of Toronto, Ontario also cover the song, featuring the vocals of Micheal T. Butch and his band. Ederlezi translates to "Spring Festival " on Saint George Day" May 6th All my friends dance the oro Dance the oro, they make the day All the Roma, mothers All the Roma, fathers, fathers All the Roma, oh mother All the Roma, fathers, fathers Ederlezi, Ederlezi All the Roma, mothers All the Roma, fathers, sacrifice sheep But mine, The poor drummer, we must stay away A Romany day, our day Our day, Ederlezi my father, has a sheep for us All the Roma, fathers, sacrifice sheep All the Roma, fathers, fathers All the Roma, oh mother All the Roma, fathers, fathers Ederlezi, Ederlezi All the Roma, my mother

Our languages, races, countries may be different. But our feelings are universal. Music is the best way to convey this. If we can one day put eternal love in our hearts, we will reach our salvation and not let evil deeds. The pain of all humanity is my pain, I hope that one day all nations will reach this consciousness. I greet everyone with love, saying "Peace at home, peace in the world", the most beautiful word of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. A Kosovar from Turkey.

Quisiera que su historia, envuelta en mentiras, quedara sumergida en el misterio por tantos años como el misterio de la vida, que corrieran a los escarpados cuando alguien pretendiera dibujar su pasado. @@arimfalam6183 there is a certain sadness but undeniable beauty in this song, like in life itself. Life can be both beautiful and sad. To live means you have to die. Living is beautiful and having to die can be so sad. It's this juxtaposition that brings tears to my eyes, and I feel this song captures it.
This song had to be accompanied by shots from Emir Kusturica's film "The Time of the Gypsies" (or "House for Hanging"), in which this song sounds. And footage from the celebration of St. George's Day on the river would fit here just fine. In the video, shots from a Soviet film are used "Tabor goes to the sky ".The songs of the Balkan gypsies are not at all the same as those of the Russian gypsies...

Wow this song actually brought tears to my eyes... how beautiful life can be... amazing video by the way!
Why does it make u cry?
@@arimfalam6183 there is a certain sadness but undeniable beauty in this song, like in life itself. Life can be both beautiful and sad. To live means you have to die. Living is beautiful and having to die can be so sad. It's this juxtaposition that brings tears to my eyes, and I feel this song captures it.
Amazing song, I wish they came to Poland someday.
I dont know the lyrics, but I often cry during that song..
Peace and love from Russia!
Toller Song und hervorragendes Video
başta balkan çingenelerinin acılarını en iyi anlatan şarkıdır EDERLEZİ yada ağıtıdır ayni zamanda balkanlardaki Müslüman ve hıristiyan bölünmüşlüğünden kaynaklanan savaşların çığlıklarıdır yani acıların savaşlarda perişan olmuş mağdur halkların sesidir goran biregoviçin bu yürekler dağlayan şarkısı.
