But then I realized, thanks to this video, that my path in tool and die making is something special. COVID made it hard to find a job, while my friends landed great gigs in IT. As a first generation graduate in my family, I faced alot of embarassment and insults within family (who were into standard business and no education) when I was studying and started working for a meagre salary. உங்க வீடியோ முதல் முறையாக பார்க்கிறேன். என்ன சொல்லி பாராட்டுவது என்று தெரியவில்லை. நான் 8ம் வகுப்பு படிக்கும்போது என் வீட்டின் அருகே ஒரு குடும்பம் இருந்தது. 2 ஆண் குழந்தைகள் இருந்தனர். அவர்கள் அப்பா ஒரு தேநீர் கடையில் வேலை செய்து கொண்டிருந்தார். அம்மாவுக்கோ அவருக்கோ எழுத படிக்க தெரியாது. எனவே என்னிடம் அந்த குழந்தைகளை படிக்க சொல்லி அனுப்புவார்கள். 1 மற்றும் 2ம் வகுப்பு படித்துக் கொண்டு இருந்தவர்கள் என்னிடம் 5 வருடங்கள், நான் 12ம் வகுப்பு முடிக்கும் வரை படித்தனர். படிக்கவில்லை என்றால் நான் கொடுக்கும் அடிக்கு என் அம்மாவே "வேண்டாம் அடிக்காதே" என்று சொல்லுவாங்க. ஆனா நான் அந்த குழந்தைகளை என் குழந்தைகளாக பாவித்து ஒவ்வொன்றும் சொல்லிகொடுதேன். இன்று அவர்கள் இருவரும் engineer களாக Bangalore லும் Chennai லும் வேலை செய்கிறார்கள். நான் அவர்கள் பள்ளி படிப்பிற்கு பிறகு சந்திக்கவில்லை. ஆனால் அவர்களே என் மொபைல் எண்ணைத் தேடி பேசினார்கள். அக்கா நீங்க அன்னிக்கு படிக்க சொல்லன்னா, நாங்களும் கொத்தனார் வேலைக்கு போயிருப்போம் என்று... மனம் மகிழ்ந்த மகிழ்ச்சிக்கு அளவில்லை. நான் ஒரு ஆசிரியையாக, இன்று எத்தனையோ குழந்தைகளுக்கு கல்வி சொல்லித் தருகிறேன். என் மகனையும் சேர்த்து. ஒருமைக்கண் தான் கற்ற கல்வி.... இது திருக்குறள் மட்டுமில்லை. வாழ்வு.... இந்த கால மாற்றம் எல்லாவற்றையும் எல்லாவரையும் தான் போக்கிற்கு விட்டு விட்டது. இதுவும் மாறும்....

‘‘படிப்பு என்பது வேலைக்காக என்றாகிவிட்டது. ஆனால், இன்று படித்த படிப்புக்கேற்ற வேலை என்பது ஒரு சிலருக்குத்தான் வாய்க்கிறது. எம்.பி.ஏ., எம்.சி.ஏ படித்தவர்கள் அரசாங்க அலுவலகத் துப்புரவுப் பணியாளர் வேலைக்கு விண்ணப்பிக்கும் அளவிற்கு படிப்புக்கு மதிப்பற்ற நிலை உருவாகிவிட்டது. நான்கில் ஒருவர் பட்டதாரியாக இருக்கும் நிலையிலேயே இப்படி என்றால், பட்டதாரிகளின் எண்ணிக்கை இருமடங்கானால் என்னவாகும்? இதை நினைத்தால் படிப்பே வேண்டாம் என்ற எண்ணம்தான் வரும்
