I love how Beetle paused to eat some bread. You love him even before the twist.
I mean it was pretty easy to understand it was an act. Also we can see Flower hiding Beetle in his cape when the king approaches at the beginning.
I mean during the marriage, we don't know for sure that Beetle can turn into a humanoid form, but since he has the same colors in the beetle and humanoid forms, we can understand its him, and that he's the Flower's ally.
Also his acting was pretty bad.

I liked all the characters and how they interacted with each other, but Beetle and Flower are just so precious! The voice acting is nice, too.
Can we take a moment to appreciate Cornelia and Flower’s friendship? People forced to marry in the Middle Ages couldn’t stand other and always argued, and even kings and queens had their affairs. But in this story they were always supporting each other and they actually wanted to scape together. Cornelia even risked her own life for Flower.
