Hi Steve, I have not been able to find that wolf pattern that you show in this video. Is it available in your catalogue? Thank you for all that you do for the scroll saw community!

Thank's Steve, I have used a laser in my hobbies for the last 6 years. Another thing you can do to prevent any burn marks or charring on the wood is to mask your wood & then remove the masking after you cut. Clean piece of wood each & every time. Thank You for all that you do. Have a great week-end

Hi Rodney. Thanks for the tip. I do mask the wood when I am going to use the project. Most of the time I am only testing my pattern so I don't use it. I have never used masking on the back of the project so I might give that a try.

    Hi
So sorry for off topic comment. The WEN scroll saw you reviewed was purchased by me and others but major flaw been discovered. The knob to tighten the table is the wosrt desighn ever , started noticing my table was lose very often. Wiggle your table and itll loosen, the knob has a nut inside plastic tighttening knob its a tiny knurled nut in handle, its in plastic and the washer it tightens down on is in a plastic cup too plastic is the worst thing to use on a table clamp desighn bc it is so slippery , and the actual nut in the handle wll never be able to get any clamping purchase due to its size, please unscrew you handle and look at the desighn and wiggle your table and you see your table will be off plane, and if its not alotta peoples are that use the saw often. A large diameter machine nut is needed and heavy washer not the tiny nut in plastic. Please accept my apologies for hi jacking this post I really tried contacting you privately but my skills are not good there. Im guessing by the way you know machinery that youll see this is seriously wrong and even if it did work its wrong. I have an machine shoo knowledge from working at my dads shop and other shils for many years. Great Saw other than this major flaw.
Thank you sir for addressing this issue on the WEN saw.

I appreciate the fact that your patterns can be imported direct into Lightburn's laser software ... no need for Inkscape!

Lightburn is almost perfect laser software. Worth every penny.

Hi Steve, Thanks for the info. I'm wondering if you've used a cnc router and how that compares to a laser. I'm thinking the router cuts while the laser burns. I'm wondering what the advantages and disadvantages are of each if you have experience with both. Thanks.

How are you doing Steve? Just came across your UA-cam channel and said “Hey, I know that guy”. Hope you are doing well. I do woodworking, but haven’t done any scroll saw work, but I’ll be following your channel. Take care!

Hi Perry. Sorry, I just now saw your comment. We are doing well. A couple of years ago we moved back to Southern Indiana to be near family so we are staying busy. It is nice to hear from you. It has been a long time. Hope you are doing well.

Hi Steve. I registered for your forum on your scroll saw website a couple of weeks ago. Still awaiting admin approval. Is there anything you can do at your end? Thanks. Andy.

Is it still worth using a scroll saw to make patterns? I feel like laser cutters are not fair.

Why are lasers not fair? They are both tools that can create art. They take different skills to operate but both take practice.

@@stevegood3224 Because if you take you hardest pattern in your catalog. Cut one with a laser and one using the saw. One is truly handmade and one is not. One you need two hands and concentration. The other after setting it up, you can have a beer in one hand and the other in a bowl of chips. I do both. I also create signs with a router and have a cnc machine. I feel the same about that too. I've been following your site for years and really appreciate what you provide.

@@vtxrider1800r It is more rewarding for me when I use the scroll saw but the business side of me usually wins out. You see many more laser cut projects at craft shows than you do scroll saw cut projects. 90% of the people who buy these crafts have no idea how they are made. You often need to get more into higher-end arts and crafts before they have respect for the craftsmanship that went into the project. Thanks for the kind words. I enjoy making the patterns.
