    I just want to order and buy a new car online without dealing with the dishonest and cunning dealership salesmen who charge extras and always push us to purchase cars in their lots that we don't even want. Dealerships should be only for test driving, new owner training, and service for new cars.

    Regarding to finance a loan whether from the dealerships or credit unions you want to get the agreement that you can pay off early without any penalties. No Pre-payment Penalties.

    I've been around for a long time. Potential buyers should always remember that ALL dealers will try to "cheat" you. That is, they will do absolutely anything to put more of your money in their pockets...anything...no exceptions. Usually the highest paid employee in dealerships is the leasing agent. Why do you think that is? Dealer service is usually crooked, too. My advice to friends is to never enter a dealership for anything other than warranty repairs. No "free" oil changes, other maintenance, inspections, etc. NEVER. If you can, it's MUCH safer to buy a used car from a private party who is the original owner with title in hand and in his name and with all service records and ONLY after a PPI (prepurchase inspection) by YOUR own mechanic. Most dealers get their used cars from auctions and those vehicles are at auctions for good reasons.

    going into several dealers is a waste of time.. they have so many games they will play. you better to figure out what you want then ask for the OTD price.

    • @SammifromMiami
      @SammifromMiami Рік тому +1

      @David Se, exactly! Figure out ahead of time the vehicles you are interested in. Then use Edmunds or TrueCar to figure out what a fair price is. Then go visit dealer lots on Sundays when they are closed to see what they have on the lot. Then when you have figured out what you want, figure out what your financing will be: down payment, trade, sales tax, tags...and figure out what that equates to a monthly payment if you want/need a car loan. Need to have all these figures before talking to any salesman. Then just email their sales department and tell them you want to buy a car, and that you've contacted 5 other dealers and whoever gives you the best price gets your business. (At least that is how you should have done it before the pandemic. Now you will have to be prepared for dealers to not budge and tack on outrageous fees and market 'adjustments.')

    Would you help me? I am buying a new car and dealt with a car dealership today who gave me a ridiculous price for the 2023 Kia Sportage Hybrid SX prestige. $7,995.00 for a market adjustment, $1,098.00 for dealer doc service, $150 for lic/tag fee, $129 e-tag file, $149 priv-tag-agency totalling to $50,700.26. it was $53k but he brought it down. I couldn't believe it. He then was extremely unprofessional with me through text message by being passive aggressive and told me that buying a car with cash is bad. They prefer leasing, or financing.
    I want to purchase with cash. I have another meeting with a different dealer that's about an hour away from my home and after talking to them for the same car, they said it will be MUCH less than $50k and they won't charge a market adjustment fee. Idk. But this video helped a bit. I feel like I need more support.

      @Erik, just tell the dealer what your "out the door" price that you will pay is. Doesn't matter what other fees and add-ons they use, YOUR price should be listed at the bottom of the purchase order. I realize in the current market you might not be able to get your price. But the first dealer quote you shared is hogwash.

    I"ve been trying to buy or lease since December. I used a broker for my last two cars but thought since I was working from home and was lucky enough to have the flexibility to wait I'd try handling it myself. I didn't love anything out there so I thought I would lease for 2-3 yrs & try again. But leases have gone through the roof (I assume because of the expected used car glut when the shortage is over) & are barely cheaper than purchasing, if they're even available, and at many dealerships they are not even being offered. So I pivoted to purchasing. I've gone in three times at three different dealerships to sign the paperwork only to find out they'd added options or up'd the mark-up. Another two times I've thought I had a deal but before I could get there to sign the paperwork they gave the car to someone who had offered to pay a higher mark-up. I finally decided to just let the broker my credit unions recommends handle it. Within a day he found a car & what he said was a great deal, which was $3k higher than the msrp on the trim two levels above what I had been looking for. I'm at a loss what to do at this point. I just changed credit unions & they are offering me a fantastic interest rate on a car loan, but I know approvals are only good for thirty days, and shortages are even worse with dealers anticipating '23 models. But the interest rates will likely go up next week after the fed meets, so if I don't get the loan literally in the next 2 or 3 days I'm not locked in. At this point I'm starting to wonder if I'm not better off going carless & just renting a car for a few days a month & scheduling my life around that. I wish consumers could order directly from the factories instead of going through dealerships--I'd do it in a heartbeat.

      Buy a Tesla then. The buying experience is Soooo much better, at least in that respect. No "dealer" involved. Car delivered to you.
      But you may have Elon raise or lower the price the day after delivery.
      I suppose the other manufacturers have long term contracts with their dealers so they can't switch to that model very quickly.
      But I agree it would be so much easier and probably cost less too.

    Hi Shari! Hopefully, you will be able to do an updated video on factory ordering a new vehicle for 2024, now that the "shortage" is over. I am willing to factory order a new vehicle 6-8 months ahead of my current lease end, which is October 2024! By then, I will also determine if I will get another vehicle (probably a 2025 leased) or do a lease buy-out, depending on costs and interest rates. I also may consider an EV over a Hybrid depending on the U.S. Tax Rebate ($7500 if leased) if that brings down the cost of an EV to ICE or Hybrid costs. Thanks as always for a great video that helps me become a smarter customer. Yes, I tend to lease over and over again from the same dealership, hoping to get customer loyalty, rather than shop around for quotes by email. Hope to avoid that next time.

    I am halfway through the video and not getting to the point of actually ordering a vehicle. I had a horrible experience trying to order a 2019 Nissan Frontier. I found numerous locations that had the exact build I wanted, but they were out of region. I even offered to pay the freight to get the truck from out of region. Our local dealership said they could not do that but took my deposit for a "factory order", and then dragged out the ordering process, citing delays and factory issues, "...our rep can only place one order a month" was also an excuse - until all the available builds out there were gone and the "factory was shutting down to retool for the next year and your configuration is just not available any more". I had to settle for something they could find local that wasn't quite what I wanted (my old truck was more or less salvage). Net: It was a bait and switch. What I wanted, what I ordered was not what they got for me, and by the time the vehicle was ready, there was no more 2019 inventory available. The only saving grace was that I did get a good price on the truck.
    What I ended up with is... depressingly passable. I need a truck for the stuff I need to do, but I am hoping to have a better experience on my next purchase. Done with dealerships.

I sent out emails to dealers both near and far from my location in R. Hill, Ontario. Most did not reply. Some were either abrupt and/or rude in the way they responded. The others that did reply wanted to know up front how I intended to pay for the car. With the latter, you know that they intend to play games with the pricing even before start the transaction. I have yet to find a dealership where I feel comfortable to enter and purchase a vehicle. The fact that we need to go through these processes show just how dishonest some/most of these dealerships are. Yet no action is being taken to fix the problem.

    Even if we place the $500 deposit for the bill of sale, we can still cancel it at anytime as long as the car hasn't been allocated (no VIN on the bill of sale), is it correct? I placed mine a few months ago for a hybrid and was told it's okay to cancel it at anytime before the car arrives at the dealer. And also for cars that aren't available for factory order (i.e cars that have recently been announced, no price/trims available yet), is it common that just to put some refundable fees at the dealers and join the reservation list and expect calls from dealers to negotiate when price/trims are available? Would doing so lose some leverage in negotiation with the dealers because $$ are already in dealer's pocket (even though it is refundable)? I thought it would allow us to receive our cars earlier because we joined the list ahead of time? Can you talk about the pros/cons of this method? thank you

    Best and clear useful information I have to say. I already went through similar experiences at the dealers. There is one question to ask that what is the inviro protection packages? It charges $4000.00. I asked them to cancel the pkgs.... They said it's mandate and if I'm not happy with it, than go to shop somewhere else..... I needed it so badly to buying a car , so I agreed to purchasing the pkgs. Is it fair ? Thanks. It's Rav4 hybrid SE 2022.cavalry blue.

      i have similar situation which i ignore all the extra package from the dealer for the new car, so they signed me the contract and i never able to get the car after 5 months. Once i resign another contract with the extra package and i got the car after 2 weeks.

    Say I'm going to a toyota or a hyundai dealership in the USA. And there's four upcoming 2023 cars I want to put a deposit for (so for whichever comes first). So during the same day I go to both...
    What should I expect as far as credit pulling. Like:
    Will my credit score get hit for each car?
    For example $30,000 TA; $2600 TB; $35000 HA; $32;000 Hb?
    OR the more expensive car amount?
    So: TA at Toyota and the HA at Hyundai, as the are the most expensive.
    Why? My biggest overall concern is would my credit score drop for each car even if its the same day before I even get to the next option or dealership to reserve?... not exactly worried about the drop for say the next day.

      Credit check can be done when the financing needs to be finalized before you are taking delivery. For placing an order and making a deposit, just tell the dealer you may just pay cash or you have your own financing already lined up with a bank or credit union.

    It’s a strong seller’s market. Buyers don’t have much space to negotiate if any. Belief in car shortage going away in two years is one of the most naive ideas.

    Dealer here: Good video, thanks for the info! Of note: Rebate(s) usually apply at time of physical delivery- NOT at time of order. Consumers also may experience volatility in lease rates on vehicles month-over-month due to lease incentivized vehicles. For example, if a "Sport" model is the incentivized vehicle in October and the "Platinum" trim level is the incentivized vehicle in December, the lease could vary tremendously between these 2 vehicles even though only 60 days has elapsed. I hope this helps, and thanks again!

    It’s best to trade or sell your car if your interested to buy a new car because sources say used car prices are going down now. Keep looking there are actually dealerships selling at MSRP with no markups. Find a high volume seller where there is higher profits giving them ability to sell at MSRP regardless of the economy.

    My parents have always bought new factory ordered cars, they never bought used. It's only this year my mum went for a used car, but she went for the showroom model of a BMW as she needed it quickly, so still not a typical used car. Me on the other hand bought a 4 year old Toyota Yaris, although I would love to get a nice new car one day when I have the money

    What is the affect on early payout? If the sales taxes are high then the best thing to do is pay the vehicle off early. This should save the cost of sales tax for that period of time left correct? Or is there a condition to where you can't pay off the vehicle to save taxes?

    • @SammifromMiami
      @SammifromMiami Рік тому

      @David Thompson, paying off a car loan early has no effect on sales tax. Sales tax is collected in total at time of sale, and that amount is remitted to the state.
