    I was diagnosed with cirrhosis about 15 years ago (i was a fool and continued to drink but got sober 2 years later for good) and have gone through so many extremes of sickness and feeling well through the years. Not only did my abdomen fill with fluid but then my lungs did and that led to TIPS procedure in 2019 which lasted 3 good years then in 2022 I went downhill quickly with an infection and was hospitalized. One month after leaving the hospital I got the phone call for a new liver. October 22, 2022 I received my liver transplant. It’s only been a little over 4 months and the recovery was brutal but I am feeling better than I have in years! My daughter told me during my hospital stay with the infection “Mom, if you haven’t been depressed by now then you probably never will be” 😂 so I guess I kept it hidden well.
    Anyways thanks for your videos helping others and never give up hope. I owe my life to wonderful doctors and nurses. (And staying sober) It’s been a long 15 year battle but I fought hard and made it through!

    idk if youve looked into herbal treatments for your condition , but there are things like milk thistle, dandelion , burdock ....even things like ginger and lemons which are great liver tonics and in some cases can even fully regenerate the organ given enough time and care . be well ;)

      Good advice here. Tudca is supposed to be a great one as well. It's a bile salt and helps the kidneys too. Just stay away from Aloe as it has a lot of health benefits but can be harmful for anyone with Kidney issues. I had to learn that the hard way. Fortunately it happened after my first few days of use before I was using it too long.

    Interesting topic and good explanation. I truly believe the liver just about controls everything, even the weather, LOL.
    Someone did ask in your posts what signs, if any, you had before diagnosis. I often look back to see if I missed anything with my wife, Rose. There were signs, but all attributed to just getting old... some that come to mind. Fatigue, thining hair, very cold fingers to the point of blue fingernails and weight loss ( we were actively trying to lose weight to stay healthy ) the weight continued to drop into a danger zone. What I have found out is how very very important it is to have yearly bloodwork. Science has progressed to the point that we now know the major parameters of blood and know immediately if something is going on with our amazing body. So the one thing I would tell people is if you can, have a yearly blood test to make sure the parameters are in line with the known numbers.

      Well said Lee. The major things for me were yellow eyes, cronic fatigue, then BAM!!! Everything in my body just crashed within a matter of just a few hours. Went to bed and woke up in a different world. Thanks for your support! 💚

    I saw a video of yours yesterday where you were talking about waking up just completely confused and eventually going to hospital and getting this diagnosis. Did you have any physical symptoms at all before that day?

    • @Hope...M
      @Hope...M Рік тому +1

      The reason I asked about any kind of physical symptoms before that is because I'm having some physical problems and I know I already have a fatty liver. I was just curious if anyone has any type of symptoms before? I've never been a hard liquor drinker but I've been a heavy beer drinker for twenty years. That's one of the reasons I was asking if anybody's had physical symptoms before they got the notice of their diagnosis. They just told me I had fatty liver disease about seven or eight years ago and they found it on accident. Peace to you and hang on the and try to keep your head up. 🙏🙏🙏

      My eyes had started to turn yellow and I was feeling a bit sluggish. That was maybe a couple of days before. I had been working 65+ hour weeks for a few months so I likely was overlooking stuff. A lot of it was fuzzy but I can't really pinpoint anything except my eyes. I think I figured they were just bloodshot or something due to sleep dep. Frankly, those last few days run together. I was told I had a fatty liver a few years prior but I dismissed it. I thought I was "too young" and had plenty of time to stop.

    • @Hope...M
      @Hope...M Рік тому

      @@fortressfarms82 yeah I kind of have dismissed it with the fatty liver too. Having pain a few years ago and went to the ER. They did a CT after the ultrasound. It was my appendix but when I was recovering they told me I had fatty liver. My eyes aren't yellowish but I have been experiencing kind of burning and watery eyes on certain days. My mom said she thought it was probably dry eye disease or something. My side feels kind of like something over there on the right side is swollen. I woke up today and my kidneys/back area was a little sore. I'm going to try to ease off the beer completely. Right now I would probably have DTS. I'm glad I found your channel and I guess a lot of us we'll see what happens but I definitely need to try to detox even if that means taking few days off work and doing it by myself little by little. I've always thought I was too young for these things too. I think your depression is pretty much situational. What I mean by that is you didn't really start feeling really depressed until you got a diagnosis. That's enough to depress anyone. You doing a good thing and you might not realize how many people's lives you're going to affect by just doing these little videos. I look at myself and I look at you and think while we look so healthy soloway is there anything wrong although the body tells us a different story. So you say the things you say and then people like myself here it until a couple people and before you know it might change events like a butterfly effect. Okay I don't want to get too corny and sounding melodramatic. I'm subscribed so when you make a video it should alert me. Thanks for taking time and I'm very sorry this is so long but... Wow welcome to the real world huh? I know a guy that did get a liver transplant and it worked out okay. He wasn't even an alcohol drinker. You're doing a good thing with your videos. Keep that head up 💯👍✌🏼

    I am enjoying your vlogs tremendously. My husband has end stage liver failure due to autoimmune hepatitis and has just been approved to the transplant list after a long process. This video really explains a subject that I have been noticing lately. Very helpful, thank you! I have one question for you though, how do you manage your medication intake, the refill of prescription so you remember to call in on time, I haven’t noticed you mentioning ascites, but if you have this, how do you manage the scheduling of the monthly test so you can have it done whenever it is needed. Thanks again for sharing your journey with us so openly. To you the best and for your partner, a well of strength so as to share this journey together.

      Thank you! It took a long time to get my medications on the right rotation. We got to know my pharmacist(s) and have my medications on auto refill for when they're 5 days out. I still have to go to the pharmacy once a week since they don't all match up. As far as the ascites, I eventually got a standing order at the hospital that my Dr(s) made. Each time they took less fluid as we adjusted my diuretics. Eventually, all if the fluid was gone and the meds could actually work.

      I allowed alcohol to take almost everything from me. Despite all of the things I'm going through now, I've never been happier. I have my life back and I can share it with the woman I love. 10 years and she never gave up on me. I'm incredibly lucky.

    Turn to Jesus He loves you, He is the healer of the body And savior of the soul There is True Hope in Jesus, God protects Psalms 91, He is the God of miracles Acts 2:21 And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved Jesus alone saves Trust Him with your salvation John 3:16
    1 Corinthians 15 1-4
    Moreover Brethren, i declare unto you the gospel which i preached unto you, which also ye have received, and with wherein ye stand
    By which also ye are saved, if you keep in memory what i preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain,
    For i delivered unto you first of all that which i also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures
    And that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the scriptures, Take care

    The entire world is on [death row] because of sin. In 1987 I took the [pardon] offered by God's sinless only Son---Jesus. All of the World's sin has been paid for by Him. (mine, yours, everybody's) Take that pardon by faith,.....not by works. Peace be with you!! 🙂

    That is a good sign, you have starved your neurons for years. They are starting to awaken and process more information. You will feel it as ups and downs and out of sorts. As you get better and healthier a lot of your old stability will return. Unless your substance use was for a mood disorder, not always obvious. If your doctor would allow you to take take NMN, it may assist the body to repair in many cell types. Some doctors are very conservative in their management. You can heal from liver disease, it is slow. I have made great strides
