    Seeing Uncle Joey get emotional about his friend Anthony broke my heart.

  • @BTMBINO
    @BTMBINO 2 роки тому +135

    When joeystarted to tear up talking about Anthony’s death, I lost it. When I was 13, during the summer going into 8th grade my best friend was hit and killed by a drunk driver.. he was only 15 at the time. I was at my lowest, and filled with anger. Just as Joey said he filled the void in Anthony’s family, I did the same thing with my best friends family. It’s a horrible feeling to lose your right hand at such a young age, I don’t wish that on nobody.

    Joey is always real but these last 2 episodes show how much he has been writing and reflecting. There is a different authenticy with him in these videos, in part because he is more consistent and cohesive in his story-telling. It demonstrates even more clearly how much Joey feels, his intensity is deep in these episodes. Ryan, you are really capturing something powerful here. He almost breaks down numerous times with the love and grief he continues to feel to this day. It is why his memory is so vivid. He continues to live these memories. Let's do another one Ryan...these are "The White Lies & Beautiful Truths" of Joey "CoCo" Diaz.

      The Honeydew is definitely on the list of podcasts that I check regularly for new episodes. Out of the several podcasts I subscribe to that centered around comedy, it’s on my short list of favorites. I’m also from Baltimore, so I can identify with some of Ryan’s mannerisms, brand of humor, & his accent. Gotta try to see him live, next time he’s in town. I’ve only heard him in the podcast setting, and haven’t heard any of his stand-up. For the full effect, want to experience that in-person, rather than watching it on video.

    Crazy.. I remember stopping at the nike factory when I was kid and dumpster diving for the sneakers they would throw out. To hear Joey say he did it to brings some normalcy to the things my mom made us do.

      @@FancyPrimate lol bro it's a damn fruit punch! Only person thinking anything creepy about a soft drink is YOU. Ease up bro. If you feel like a creep for simply wanting a nice fruit punch beverage, I can't imagine how needlessly harsh you are on yourself about other shit. It's just unnecessary my man. There ain't a damn soul about to think you're a creep for buying a fruit punch. Grown men buy skittles, cotton candy, Icees, all that shit. Nothing creepy about them. Ryan Sickler is awesome on podcasts. He is a naturally funny guy who can riff with anybody about anything. I first heard of him on his old podcast with Jay Larson called The Crabfeast. If nobody has listened to that then it's well worth the time. The episodes with Josh Adam Meyers, Brandt Tobler and Steve Caldwell are amazing and Sickler and Larson were great as a duo, but the Honeydew is awesome too
