Parents Parents Parents: Education is affective only if parents are wholly involved. Teachers are instructors of crafts, they cannot, nor do they have time to, teach behavior and attendance. That is the sole purview of the parents, and where necessary, truancy enforcement. It all adds up to a community responsibility. The differences are, we can either live in a civil society, or we will live in a dangerous chaotic arena of anything goes! American's education, going forward, must be beyond modernity's technological cutting edge to survive a static and uncertain future.

Problem #1 parents #2 students behavior #3 no books in the homes. I am a retired teacher I know from experience you can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink. You can give a child a book but you can't make her or him read.Everything starts in the home. From birth to six years of age can basically tell you what kind of training a parent has given that child during that child formative years. Love your post👍

@@bernicenorman5075 I agree. And some children are just not wired to succeed in a Euromerican style system of learning, as most human learn more from look see or repetitive hand to eye instruction; otherwise known as apprenticeship in Euromerican education instructions. The American education system is wroth with boobytraps, intentional or not, that are stumble blocks to any people averse to the history of the origin and purpose of use of the institutions. Therefore the best way to teach most non-Euromericans is by adaptive learning. Illustration: I learn better from how my ancestors solved problems juxtaposed to how the host historical methods are being taught. Take cooking school; many non-institualist students somewhat railed at learning French history as part of learning the FRENCH style cooking, I kid you not, not realizing every style of doing any task reveals the historical background of its origin.
Learning requires curiosity; first, the importance of what, why and when; and if relevant, who. Then translation of mechanics to phraseology common to student.
I could go on, but hopefully you get the line of thinking!

@@louiswhite805 Totally agree. When I taught the first thing I did was observe the child. The black children in my class were visual and kinesthetic learners. I am not an Harvard graduate,I graduated from SIU Carbondale.I taught in Rialto,California predominant blacks and Hispanics, Houston TX the same. My students all did well in my class. I received teacher of the year in both states. I was constantly asked how are your students doing so well? I gave the administrator what they wanted during observation but once they left I taught the way students learned.Like you said, you can't teach our children the European way. Like the song "Wake Everybody". That song should be played every day on radio stations because There's a message in it. Keep those comments coming.👍

@@bernicenorman5075 Mike and HISD students need you. I know this because, my last grade in English class was the professor's, at HCC, advice to drop the class in lieu of an F; my problem is with switches, or punctuation, but you understood what I meant! Thanks to social media I'm continuing to improve. And thank you for your common sense approach of educating by student's methods of learning. This is also the key to teaching artistic and cognitively slow students as well. I love you, as I'm sure your students do also!

Are you a teacher? Even if you are you’re very wrong because teachers do teach many things besides the subject. If you were a teacher you would know that so please stop saying uninformed in ignorant things

😮 ~ It is fun to watch this guy. He is not a typical public figure. I agree with him on the lack of discipline. Parents ccoddle their kids too much.
But, this guy seems to have a bad track record from his previous schools.

💰 ~ So you don’t have enough money for library but you have enough money to send every single student who qualifies to Japan by spending $4000 per student? So you’re willing to send every single student who does well in school even though I don’t know that many of them would care. Rent out a local weekend camp with every fun activity under the sun, go to water parks and everything else. And they would probably be just as happy with that and it would cost $200 a student.

🗳 ~ Here’s my problem with this guy, Even though a lot of what he says I think could be good. It’s how he got the job. Governor Abbet is trying to get public education. Let’s give him the benefit of doubt and say he thinks it’ll be better in the long run. Maybe he thinks will be better for his voters who are not likely to be racial minorities, or maybe he thinks it’ll be better for everybody. I don’t know. But that say he thinks it’ll be better for everybody.
But no matter what, parent should be able to decide who’s over their kids. I thought the Republican Party cared About “parental choice”. Or does that only matter when they agree with the Republican Party and when they’re not racial minorities? So if you think Houston schools are so bad that you want to install someone let the voters have not picked, I can still go along with that. But there should be some way that the parents can remove these managers and special superintendent if things are bad enough. And there’s no way they can. Even if you wanna make the rate extremely high and say it needs to be 67% or Maybe even a huge percentage like 75%. If that many parents decide they want to remove the superintendent, then they should be allowed to. But right now it doesn’t matter if 99% say he is destroying the school after a year or two, there’s nothing they can do about it. But that is exactly where the Republican party is going. They want to take away the voters rights when the voters don’t agree with them. Plain and simple.
