I myself only got into it because my mother and stepfather were watching it on Netflix...and subsequently binged the entire series myself in a matter of weeks. We all watched the Christmas special together and it was so much fun!

I find it sadder and sadder as time goes on how Lucille just abandoned Cyril. Because now he's here on his own. I hope they do something amazing with his character, he deserves happiness.
I agree, initially I thought her departure was temporary but now it feels that her storyline exiting the series is unfinished.
@@bryanpwo3085 yeah the way Lucille left felt so unfinished and yucky. Even if they just brought her back for one or two episodes to smooth out her character, it would be so much more satisfying.
@@gummygoo2 absolutely, but perhaps they will finish it this season. I mean all it needs is a few phone calls or a letter Cyril needs to receive to smoothen things out, if the actress isn't available.
@@bryanpwo3085 yeah exactly! letters from Lucille to Cyril would be so easy for them to include.
My problem with it is that Lucille would never have left him. Her character was not like that.
This is my absolute favorite show. It lifts my spirits and absorbs me totally. Can't recommend it more. I still miss Chummy and Jenny and I am livid with Lucille for hurting her amazing husband.
Do you think we will see Lucille back ? I was so annoyed!! Like it's not just her going through the loss! 😢 can't wait for 13!

Oh God, how beautiful the series can be. The beauty of the soul releases love and kindness and hope is like a balm for us, to live a fulfilled life. Their stories are our stories. Those who gave life to this series are people with pure souls and I thank them. ❤❤

It is my favourite yet I watch through eyes that refuse to stay dry. Never does an episode fail to make me cry. Homelessness, abortion, FGM, no DLA, Down’s syndrome people stuffed into homes, thalidomide, racism, sexism, misogyny, alcoholism, drug addiction and on and on…..😢😢yet we look forward to the 1970s. Geoffrey ( Nurse Franklin’s brother) is a breath of fresh air!

I really hope Lucille comes back this series, as more and more time goes on it feels like she’s just abandoned her poor, lovely husband Cyril and has no intention of returning!
Also, I hope Trixie gets pregnant this series as well! It’ll be horrible if the writers decide to make it so she’s unable to have kids of her own just so they can keep her free for other storylines. Chummy managed to have her son and keep being a midwife just fine!
I love it I was born October 58 and all of it reminds me of the love of my parents my sister and lovely caring people for neighbours,a world which no longer exists really uk is horrible now

The actress playing Lucille wanted to leave the show so I suppose they wanted a way for the character to leave without doing a death
Looking forward to it , especially the moon landing episode , Probably episode 4 July 16th - 20th 1969, Please say a Poplar mum will name her son Neil after Neil Armstrong!,It practically writes itself. Would also love Trixie to have a baby with her husband Matthew, they could call a girl Daohne in memory of her godmother who always gave her a clothes allowance.

@@haylz27 That was the original rumour, however later it was said any exit would be open for a return, So we will find out when the series airs .

I’ve been watching this since day one. Some thing is wrong with this season. The language is different. The feel is different and the actors are acting like they’re uncomfortable. This isn’t the show that I’ve been watching. I don’t know what this is. Did they bring in American production in writers. I’m American but I watch a lot of British shows and the language is definitely American in this season and it sucks. I am so pissed. This was my favorite show. It was the best show. I hate it when America gets a hold of a British show and they destroy it.
The actress has left the show. So Lucille will not be back.

I stopped watching call the midwife after season 3, the show wasn't real anymore because it became another annoying political show, once political people get involved, it actually ruins the whole show.
