I've never had a problem with putting "expensive" pickups in a "cheap" guitar, or vice versa. I've got a cheap Mitchell (Guitar Center house brand) guitar with a DiMarzio in it - guitar was $90USD, the pickup was $80USD. I've also got a 2014 Gibson LPJ with GFS pickups in it... If they sound good, great. The big problem is if you try to sell it, great lesson on keeping the original parts to put back on it. Cheers
Personally I don't like it, it's like buying a 400 dollar guitar case for a 100 dollar guitar. If its a more expensive guitar say like a thousand dollars I dont mind putting cheap pickups on it but not the other way around. My thinking is if I have 890 dollars to buy gear, will just buy a guitar with the same price and will be most likely a lot better guitar than a 90 dollar one. Thanks for watching
@@rockcastlemusic Fair enough. I, personally, don't think any pickups are worth more than $100. All my aftermarket pickups come from GFS, except 3, 2 Air Zones, and a Duncan '59.
I agree but from where I live right now, those pickups you mentioned will still cost me more with the shipping fees and import taxes if I buy them. Anyway the only expensive pickups I buy are the YJM pickups, second are the Dimarzios which are a lot cheaper than the SD's. I havent bought any aftermarket humbuckers that are more than 100usd yet. Maybe it's also because I am really a strat guy and I like the looks of singlecoils more than humbuckers

@@rockcastlemusicI love the color.
Thanks.
Would you consider selling any of your YJM spec guitars?
