Those loose hips are just a deliberate move by Super7 to help recreate how hard it is to stand the original vintage Leo. Now that's a commitment to accuracy!!!
You know considering my experiences with Super 7. I wouldn't be surprised
Been lucky so far. I haven't had any loose joints except for shredders ankles. Honestly if they can't tighten these up I think at the soon to be $55 dollar price tag I may have to bow out on this line.
Do yourself a favor and look up and buy a product called Kiki on Amazon. Fix loose joints on action figures. It will be your best purchase ever if you collect action figures.
Id have to agree, I love watching this stuff for nostalgia, and this line if I bought anything tmnt it would be these turtles. But for the issues and price point I don't know that I would bother
@@satch4684 I hear ya, but I've been collecting for years across many brands and found there is no perfect action figure out of the box. As soon as I figured out how to tighten and loosen joints when needed, as well as fine tune little paint imperfections, I'm happy to say all my purchases become perfection! First thing I do when I bust open a new figure is test and work all the joints.. if it breaks, I return/replace it before it becomes impossible to find. Fine tuning a figure is one of the most satisfying routines in collecting.
For $45, that leg looseness is unacceptable.
Those alternate heads make these the closest we have to image comics tmnt figures
I've invested in this line, but to compare it to the movie NECA line at the price point & quality is crazy. They at least made a shell specifically for Raph & their joint control is 10x better at almost half the cost. Super7 has got to do better than this quality wise. I'm seeing way too many reviewers stating their joints are loose.
For real! I’m bummed because I just bought this wave. Kinda pricey too. I paid $211 from bigbadtoys. But I was late in the the game ordering these f& I wanted bebop.
Yes but from personal experience, many NECA figures have issues regarding breakages. Whereas Super7 doesn't
Edit : I also think Super7 give figures better articulation
I love this line. I’ve been leaving comments on many videos about Bebops shoes. Those chucks are supposed to have white shell toes. The OG figure had all red shoes but the official artwork and everything had white toes. Tempted to paint it myself. Fix them lose legs too! I wonder why this is the only turtle without outlines on the teeth. 🤔 But at least they fixed Leo’s eyes. The vintage figure had them looking sad for some reason.
I'm not really a toy collector or really a collector of anything but after seeing those Figurearts turtles...I for the first time in 32 years could not fight that childhood urge to snatch them before it was to late so I decided to resurrected my inner childhood nostalgia and purchased all of the Sh Figurearts turtles and I was definitely not disappointed they are incredible but these figures are something else It's like seeing something of yours that you at one point use to own being taken out of a time capsule I want these just as much...I think I may now be addicted to the power, the Turtle Power.
Me too, me too.
I agree how you feel
Ahh so I’m not the only one, my inner child’s going bananas looking at these I NEED!
My set's due to arrive today, I"m glad I didn't change my mind about getting them, just wish I would've bought the first set though.
On bigbadtoystore, all waves are available again!
Great review Dan, I'm still on the fence on super7 in general, their toys just seem overpriced, some look good , some don't.
I wish Super 7 had used double jointed knees and elbows.
Bro predicted the tmnt super 2003💀
Seeing as Leo is my number one favorite among the four turtles, he was the first figure I bought from this line. The vintage style head sculpt is leagues better than the original toy I had 30 odd years ago. The position of the eyes are angled a lot better, and I love the overall articulation, details and accessories. Though I never understood why he has a silver buckle around his initials while the other turtles have all black. I may have to paint over that in the future. Nitpicks aside, this is easily the best modern version of my favorite childhood TMNT action figure and it's totally worth it. I can't wait until they release Sewer Samurai Leo later down the road.
Yeah, the original looks like his head is melting off to one side
12:51 I always found it funny Leo looked sad on his vintage figure but the new super 7 head sculped fixed that so he doesn't look so sad
My BeBop has the same loose thigh joints. It really stands out given how heavy and solid the rest of the figure is. You can hold the heavy torso and those legs just wiggle all over the place.
You seem to never mention price in these reviews. And of course I can look up the price, but I do like when reviewers talk about value for the money you pay. Just some constructive criticism. Keep up the good work.
$44.99. my dude
Hate when commercials do this
@@mikesoylo1496 yeah, I knew the ballpark but I like when reviewers comment on the value in their opinion. Dan might not bother since the preorder is way over. I’d like to hear if he thinks it’s worth $45.
It’d be really cool if Super7 did figure stands that mimic the manhole covers on the packaging, either as a pack-in or as a separate stand pack.
Imo it's not really Leo without the sad eyes.
Loose joints just kill a figure for me. Real shame
Wow - I can't believe how loose those legs are. Mine are tight and my ankle articulation can even hold in place if they are leaning extremely forward and ready to pounce. I guess like most figures these days, tolerances on legs/ arms just vary per person. I did notice I needed to heat the hands/wrists a little to get that added articulation moving smoothly. Love this line so far.
They should've just put the legs on a ball point joint, like they did the bebop figure. I don't like the extra design piece they added inside the hips that holds the legs. They should've given us playmates version with the articulation through the legs and ankles. Stiff joints hold up the text of time. I feel like Super 7 cheated us fans out of the turtles a Lil bit. Overall, I like the figure, but I wish for better figures.
They should have made the closed communicator peg into the small hole on the side of his belt.
That's a great idea.
Honestly had no idea that's what that other hole on back of the retro ralph's belt was for
Our set is due to arrive this afternoon, and my daughter Hermione is keen on reviewing them really soon. (She still needs to cover Snake Mountain first.) Finally getting our first wave figures open has got her jazzed about TMNT again, and she's starting to read the IDW comics with me, which I've been reading since before she was even born. This is a fantastic line; I can't wait to see what else Super 7 has in store for us.
I much prefer that darker gray-black metal on those parts of the belt on Raph. Here's hoping Super7 can somehow get us a replacement belt/harness for Leo with the darker metal paint so all the turtles can look consistent.
Mine is Black or the Silver was not applied properly...wondering if this was a mistake or a variation???
@@miller3930it’s all black on mine too. I’m curious if the silver one was an earlier release and fans complained and thus they released an updated version? Or maybe they made two versions? I just recently purchased mine from BBTS and unboxed him today so I’m late to the party.
The X that holds his swords on his back is way too low. Should be way up higher on his back.
They were too cheap to remold the back to accommodate ones sitting at the proper height.
All mine have loose hips too, had to order a second bebop, he was really bad.
This line is amazing. Except for the Turtles so far. My Raphael is way looser in the hips and one knee won't even bend (even with blow drying)
The looseness in the line is definitely something they need to address. My Leo wasn't as bad as yours, but it was still pretty loose. Raph was worse.
one of the tricks-of-the-trade I learned with gundam models that have loose ball joints is to paint the joint and that helps thicken it ever so slightly while also providing an abrasive contact point (thanks to the paint). If the legs are the same Y/U ball joint as the classic were you might want to try sprinkling some acrylic paint in the socket and see if it'll hold
That’s great for a model kit and retouching older figures, but people really shouldn’t have to do that for a brand new $45 action figure...
Literally opened mine up whilst watching this video! I agree about the hips and legs, very loose🙁 other than that a really good figure !
Now I'm extra excited to have mine come in from BBTS! It's a real shame about the loose hip joints but I'm hoping it's something that a little floor polish/Kiki's can fix without too much issue. Also, I'm stupidly excited to see where this line goes. The possibility of getting to see this style update for characters like Slash or Hot Head or (the ONE I want them to do the most) Shoate is kind of a dream come true.
So far, I haven’t had any issues keeping my Leo upright. But great review as always. Your toy reviews & knowledge are the most interesting on UA-cam.
I really dislike the silver on the belt
What the heck is with that silver on the belt? Ruins it for me and I've got it pre-ordered 😫
I want to see Super7 do a version of the 2007 movie turtles.
Their license is for the Playmates line. So it would have to be the movie star turtles figures. It would likely be awhile before we see them but it would be cool.
We need 2012 figures
I remember having that vintage Leonardo as a kid yeah I wish I still have that one that was pretty cool figure
Is it just me or when he was comparing all of the different versions of Leonardo that the 2013 Nickelodeon version was missing from that line of Leo's
You mean 2012?
@@sweetricecakeman8582 Yeah I think so. It was the CGI show that ran for 5 seasons. The version before the new Rise of the TMNT show is out now.
Are the Super7 Ultimates more durable than the NECA figures?
wait, is the Wave 1 Raphael a different one from the Raphael at the beginning of the video? The green is darker.
Box is essentially motu classics inspired, no?
I picked up NECA TMNT II Secret Of The Ooze Super Shredder yesterday from Walmart for $29.96. He's 270 g. He has surprisingly hard plastic pointy pieces.
Makes me think twice on ordering these figures to expensive if the joints are like that.
The joints are all fine on mine so I think the looseness varies.
Blows Neca out of the water in terms of quality of plastic and texture application
belt is not great :/ wish the preorder picture had that indicated
I was worried about mine being too tight. I haven’t opened it yet.
I want Super7 to do Mirage Turtles. Take the same molds, remove the initials on the belts, give them red bandanas, and reduce the amount of accessories to just their main weapons. Sell it as a 4-pack.
love your reviews but when wrists are this messed up it's worth mentioning that quality is junk :)
That really sucks that for this price they didn’t even bother to change a single thing on the body. At least give us different shells! They shouldn’t all have identical cuts on their backs. Super7 wants to charge a premium price but offers an inferior product.
You that big of a nerd to display their shell? Come on man. These are fine.
Hopefully if the issues with the hips are widespread, then Super7 can re-release them with corrections
These have been selling online for over a year, I don't think qc will be improving on these guys.
Please do Super7's Mutagen Man. The world needs your Review of that toy
My figure doesn't have the hip bobble issue but his left knee joint will not bend! I've tried heating it but it just feels like the peg will snap if I keep trying
I had the same issue with the right knee. I put a cup of water in the microwave for about 3 minutes, then let the leg sit in there for a minute or so and it loosened right up.
@@dknight121212 thanks! I will try that
The legs on mine are fine. I have two raphaels open and one has the wobbly legs and the other doesn’t. The gripping hands that look similar are different in the way they hinge at the wrist.
Nice review! Man this is such a cool figure. I had to have one. Love the classic toy head.
Pixel Dan, I love this, I need it and this is gonna be the best video ever
I don't know what it is, I think it's the proportions, but something about these figures reminds me of the 2003 ninja turtles cartoon.
🤔...I feel like maybe Michelangelo's gonna have copper color on his belt...👌🏼💯✔
I can't say the same, as my Leonardo's joints are all pretty tight allowing me to pose him quite well. Both Shredder and Bebop are awesome in every way, so I'm looking forward to having the entire turtle team in order to display them taking on the 12 Foot Soldiers that I got when wave 1 came out
12 foot soldiers??? i hope you got some kind of deal on that
@@ggoldman43 lol no but I wanted to army build those guys, so that's why some overtime at work was necessary
Nobody reviewing these are mentioning the lack of paint on belt accents on the back of Leo. Also the lack of teeth outlines. The turtles should have uniform paint apps and quality but the details are all over the place with these. Great figures so far but QC needs to be stepped up. Loose joints, paint, & materials.
Man! I just ordered the wave. I hope I’m not going to have joint issues. Especially @ the $50 price tag. Thanks for the review
Hey PD, have you heard any rumors Super7 may re-release some figures of the previous waves?
Pretty cool figures, but for $50+ the quality is baaaaad. NECA is doing a better job.
Still waiting on my Leo figure to land here in the UK. Got the Foot Soldier at Xmas, had to send it back and the left foreare broke off, as soon as I took it out of the packaging.
Bebop arrived last week and he is fantastic!
I got my wave 2 pretty quick in the UK. It was wave one that never turned up for me and I eventually manged to get my money back off of a reluctant Super7.
It's hard to stabilize the figure, because his stomach it's made out of soft rubber. After a while it becomes more lose, because there's more space. So if you just fill up the space with a piece of kitchen paper underneats leonardo stomach, he will not fall over and stands allot firmer on his feet. I know it's sounds crazy, but just try it.
My favorite turtle! I have a sweet nostalgic feeling by looking at this video, Dan! And now its decided! I got the NECA turtles, but now I'm off getting these super 7 Ultimates!!
Hey Dan, Can you talk to Brian and see what the specific color changes are on the wave one release variant through BBTS that was just announced??? It looks like the same images from before with an updated background or something.
Floor cleaner will help with loose joint or if you put a little super glue and move it around in that joint for about 5 minutes it will tighten
this leonardo its perfect , i like the original sculpt head, looks vintage
Has any body told u that u sound like donatello from the 2003 tmnt and i love it
Guess super 7 still hasn't improved with their QC issues. Glad I called it quits with them after the second motu wave. Turtles were tempting but as suspected lose garbage wobbly joints. Glad I didn't cave in and order
Hope we don't have to wait another year or 2 for Mike and Don?
I think Mike is out in three months or so and Don in the fall.
You keeping the packaging on these
I have a question i have the Turtle Van could i use these Super 7 Turtles with that?
Love your stuff PD!
If their is one thing that makes me hate a figure its loose joints
Is Super7 going to release something without qc-issues or are they going to continue to fumble around selling overpriced raggdolls or figures so fragile they break when you look at them...
Dawn of the dead ultimates please super 7
Love the movie version and the new one figure u have
What a great figure!
my Turtles are not loose at the thighs. Might be an inconsistency issue.
Awesome! I really want that figure
Those little pegs look extremely fragile. Definitely not for playing together with your children :/ not even for constant posing, I can only see this figure posed and permanently displayed.
@NR Productions yeah the QC on these Super 7 figures is all over the place. My Bebop has his glasses glued on upside down, and my Shredder came with a broken arm straight out of the box! These toys look awesome but the sloppy builds are not worth the high price.
Mine came out perfect. Compared to Neca I go with these. I pose these Neca break on me.
Love the Super7 TMNT line. They are killing it. Leo and Bebop have been my top two so far.
Nice figures
How ironic that this figure is harder to stand than the original toy it’s based on.
Nice video pixel dan
Were the eyes balls. Be happy u all. From the sledgemaster
cool
the quality of the " ultimates " is too low compared to the price and thier Neca counterparts.
I'd say the quality is better as NECA toys always feel a bit brittle to me like I have to be delicate with them. I think NECA have wider releases on their toys so can produce more on a run and charge less for them.
Oh yeah bro
Wow, I’m surprised how bad your legs are. Maybe you got a lemon. Mine were pretty good.
Im a big fan of you
@@ekgbrolarekg1182 thanks!
Nice
I've missed out on raph already, so unless he's released again, I'm gonna have to pass on the rest of the turtles.
You can pick him up on ebay
@@JessopVTS the price for raph on the secondary market is way out of my budget
@@Mightymorphinninjaturtles oh wow, i just checked. i still have my wave 1 in box and rest on pre-order. I wish I ordered two sets now so it would cover my transformer ultimate wants lol. To be honest I missed ALL the MOTU figures and still may pick up some of them used at 2x the price.. just need to save I guess
@@JessopVTS well, I dont think the price has gone too crazy on the rest of wave 1- just raph. Shame, you should have bought 4 raphs lol. I think I should have bough 4 raphs as well!
Neca >>>>> Super 7
You and wife and was wonderful on the Christmas shows. Tell u wife that I and people I know thank u and ur wife is like celebrities also
That's ridiculous how loose these are still coming out of the factory especially since Brian liar flyn went on the first guy who reviewed and mentioned the lines poor quality, video to slander/defamate him in an attempt to defend his sh*tty company being sh*tty. Plus that silver on the belt is horrible and ruins it. Super 7 should be ashamed And i think that 2nd head is supposed to be more of a fox kids head design.
777like😉👍
I thought this was a joke but this grown man is actually reviewing a mf toy lmaoo😅
And I can tell by his fatass fingers that he's overweight. Poor dude😔
@@TeamLegacyFTW then why are you watching? lmao go away
@@mctapper6172 "I thought this was a joke but" - I guess you skipped that part🤔
@@TeamLegacyFTW why would little kids review toys?
@@mctapper6172 Are you really asking that? Might as well have said; Why would gamers review games? Why would photographers review cameras? Why would make up artists review make up? But nah.. "Why would kids review toys" lol
terrible figure.
good old super 7 and loose crap quality
