This is a Horizontal style indicator, many other brands use this style where yo ucan determine bucket location by the movement of the rod. When it raises or lowers away from the cylinder.
This is similar to how many other brands do for level indicator. It's an option for those that want an indicator. Not forced to buy just showing what is available factory options.
I got one of these and put it on. I am extremely disappointed. It is impossible to see with the bucket lowered. You need to raise the bucket high enough that the lower arm is parallel to the ground before you can really see it. In the dark, when I'm most likely to be using it moving snow, raising the bucket hardly helps because this indicator is in the shadow the arm creates from the headlight. I would not recommend that anyone purchase this.
You have got to be kidding! Actually worse than eyeballing the top edge of the bucket. Put the engineer that came up with this 50 buck gizmo in the drivers seat. You might try it as well.
We've sold several of these to customers wanting buck gauge and they are getting along fine with them. They watch movement of the rod and works for them.
Mine came with one on it, it's kinda hidden where it is on the ram..I find myself hanging out to the side to see the level an height most of the time .if they only they moved the hole to the right on that bracket it would work far better....but I'm just an operator not a designer so it's above my pay grade 😂

This is original equipment design by the loader manufacturer (ALO) that builds the loaders for Massey Ferguson. I don't know why they did it but it works to determine the level of the bucket with out getting into the tractor. Not sure on the holes in the bucket but makes it nice to drain water out of soupy material. May be accessories used in other regions of the world or hole they ship. Sorry not much help on answering these questions.
Looking at our Video on the DL95 versus FL.1805 it might be possible. Might have to tweak the mounting hole where it fits over the hose fitting. With some modification anything is possible.

You can see the rod move and it drops down when centered. That is why it has the bend in rod makes it easy to see.

Can the rod be added on the right side or left side. I lean over the loader control so it seems the right side would make sense. Thanks Tom
Problem is the Bracket that goes on the Hydraulic Cylinder is made for the Left Side Cylinder...be opposite direction if used on other side.

Why not a longer rod and the bracket be on the upper cylinder fitting?
Also what are the plugged holes in the back of the bucket for?

I don't think it would directly work. Not sure how the bracket would fit over the fitting and then if rod diameter is the same for the clamp.

Save your money. Purchased and installed, very hard to see. Should have read reviews. It works but you have to darn near break your neck to see it.
