Voters need to know the risks, benefits, and alternatives, similar to what a patient is given before surgery, to make an informed surgical decision. Informed consent for voters occurs when politicians have a professional voting record, achieve desired outcomes, and continue to be voted in to continue good works by one’s growing constituency.
