Exactly the same thing happend to me, to far away to connect it to a cable. Now i have to reset it, and unmount it from the wall to take it inside and reinstall. Its so stupid. There is no other way to reinstall it over wifi?
Important to keep the booklets safe..........The QR code is unique for comms................if you loose it you will, Like me, be climbing a ladder to try and scan the code on the actual camera.......not easy in bad weather and the faded stick on label is curved around the camera.................Keep your booklet safe and handy.......better if you can take a photo image and store for convenience.
This camera will operate without WAN access - on a stand alone, isolated, DC powered LAN. It can be set up totally off-grid with a stand alone 12VDC power supply and router for network. All can be set up on DC alone if needed. My first attempt with a different brand failed "off-grid" because it required access to the vendor server - through an ISP or cell phone service. With the other brand camera, even if cameras and router were on USP but both ISP and cell phone service were out, the other brand camera would not monitor - it required vendor server access. The Reolink camera can be totally off-grid - no AC power, no ISP, no cell phone service - for those who have that requirement. The issues are finding battery power to produce 12VDC for Reollink cameras and whatever is necessary for router. DC Step up/down transformers are available. When off-grid the Reolink cameras will seek WAN access so using the cell phone AP requires turning off cell-phone data and selecting the Reolink router SSID.
@@manny_k2988 Actually yes it has, they're ok but a bit of a pain having to ug them in, extension leads etc. They are of good quality but I'm getting rid of these and getting some of the ARLO cameras, they look a lot better.
I'm having nothing but trouble getting my camera to work as it is here. I had it somewhat working but without a Micro SD card. And the way I understood the photo, the card went wrong. I even tried to erase the app and reload in hopes to get to the start.

In other words, can this security camera be used without internet? So if you turn off the internet, the camera is still on and recording on the micro sd card?
1) If you turn off The Internet, the world will be in troubles, don't do it. 2) If you unplug your router from The Internet, the camera will still work. 3) If you turn off your router, your camera will record in its SD but you will not be able to see video streaming. 4) In short, it needs Wi-Fi, it doesn't need Internet.

I got this camera and an other indoor one E1 Zoom with pan tilt then I got the clouds service for 5 devices and this camera not added the RCL-410w to the cloud the other one did both are on the app what's wrong with this camera that I can't add it to the cloud? I payed for up to 5 camera really bummed and upset if you can help that be great please thank you so much you do great videos 😀

Nice video! As soon as I unplug my Ethernet cable the camera disappears! I have 2 Qnap Network systems in 2 homes with 32 Cat6 connections that I wired myself in my home with 17 POE cameras so its not like I don't I know what I am doing, but for the life of me, I can't get this Reolink Wireless 511 W to stay connected after I unplug the Ethernet cable :-( Any Ideas? Thanks for the comment. Doesn't sound like its configure for wifi, I hate to say it, the password has been entered in correctly right? 511 should support both 2.4G and 5G wifi...try also setting up close to the router to initially test.

@@GeekStreet the reolink app does give you the option to stream live footage on your android according to reolink. It also has its own pc-program to view, record 24/7 footage. this is all for free without monthly fees. The Sd-card is just optional.
You can you just add it to you NVR if its on the same network which will be mostly likely. I've done a similar thing but with a different reolink camera.
Fine as an unboxing video but it’s not really a review. For instance you’ve shown no real world night time footage, you haven’t shown how close you have to be to trigger a notification etc. Lifehackster does this so much better.

Turns out that the Reolink camera isn't capable of connecting to some 5G channels and so i had to adjust the router settings to allow it to auto detect compatible channels for devices.
you need the special reolink PoE device to use this camera though- an extra 200 odd. $$$$ don't like how he fails to mention this rather important "detail"
What device are you talking about?. Nothing on the Reolink offical site and from any reviews I've seen about needing anything extra other than a Micro SD card. The card gets it's power from the 12V DC plug and connects to internet via wifi. If you could run a PoE cable to the camera then why would you bother buying a Wifi camera in the first place!?!
Why do they always make the cables/connectors so big on these so the hold you have to drill needs to be 2 or 3 times bigger then it needs to be by the time you have fed the cable through.. poor design!
Quite possibly the worst camera I've ever purchased. I tried everything in this video and it simply won't connect. My E1 Pro was easier to connect to. Highly disappointed.
@@GeekStreet So it's not possible to set it up without wired ethernet? This is a problem if camera needs reconfiguring and not accessible with an ethernet cable. If camera loses power or WIFI goes down will it re-connect to WIFI?
@@GeekStreet No, they somehow broke. You finish the setup and after 5 minutes it is reset again and asking for for initial setup. They both worked perfectly for 2 weeks and then more and more frequently start resetting themselfes.

I though wireless ment you dont need ethernet cable... why it doest work when the ethernet cable was not plugged? I dont want to drill in my wall

Not by default but you could in theory use a cheap android tv box and view via that

IT IS possible with Cables. HDMI or vga Output from PC to TV or using Modern TV with Browser for Web View the camera. Simple as that.

Well that's not what it says on amazon honey.
Also, it's useless if u have a security incident several minutes long as it only records in short clips (and misses seconds between each clip)
