- This is a video ranking all 179 songs on the OMORI OST, plus 13 music discs. I have combined OMORI and OMORI - Alter, making 191 songs total to be ranked total!
This is based on the results of a Google Form I posted a few months ago - in the form, voters could vote for 25 songs total: 4 songs to be gold tier (14 points), 7 songs to be silver tier (8 points), and 11 songs to be bronze tier (2 points).
*I made a mistake in the video by saying bronze tier songs only get one point, but I meant to write 2! *
In terms of the ranking itself, I must say that I disagree with where a lot of these songs are placed. But hey, I feel like getting mad at the placements is half the fun of these videos!
Also, I'm pretty pleased with the video itself. Some of the edits are a little cheesy, but it was very fun to put this song together over the past six weeks. It sounds weird but I think I'm going to have good memories of chucking on a podcast and working on this video each evening.
I should also point out that although this video is very long, the original OMORI OST plus the music discs are over 4 and a half hours, so I'm pleased with the job I did trimming the songs down. I must warn you that most of my comments and trivia alongside the songs in this video were written at 6am though so sorry if there are grammar errors, if they just aren't very insightful.

Fascinating how different the results varied from my poll to yours. In mine, the top 3 were 3 - By Your Side, 2 - My Time, and 1 - Duet, while yours had 3- It Means Everything, 2 - World's End Valentine, and 1 - Duet. A few tracks like Room For 4 and I Just Love the 50's also scored lower, but for the most part it followed the trend of having the creepier and more generic quirky stuff in the bottom. How unfortunate that Grimey scored even lower on this poll compared to mine, and Wake Up is so underrated! Ah well, I'm happy August/Water still did pretty good, though it's surprising how much lower some of the top songs in mine scored on yours. Overall a very interesting watch

I like how the universal criteria for the best songs in this ost is either,
1. Story/Emotional impact
2. How much the song SLAPS
yeah we got worlds end valentine an absolute BOP right next to the final duet a sad emotional song
World's End Valentine is top 2 because it's the most banging song in the soundtrack.
DUET is top 1 because it hits the hardest emotionally out of any song in the soundtrack.

One thing I like about this list is that omori is a horror game, so you don't know if you're gonna be subjected to nightmare fuel or the song that goes to a rock paper scissors game.
I'm so glad duet made it to #1. I was honestly expecting my time or valentines end to be #1, but I'm glad it was duet. It is just the most fitting ending.
I was expecting omori, duet, or worlds end as 1st, mostly worlds end, and I will say I was shocked when I saw worlds end at number 2 (and was infuriated when omori was number 6th, thats objectively the best song in terms of how it works)

I first heard about Omori in March last year. At first, I thought it was just an average RPG where you ran around fighting enemies. However, as the story progressed, I realized it was nothing like a generic RPG. This game absolutely devastated me emotionally, and I'm glad I was able to experience it first hand without spoilers. Omori changed my life forever, and I deeply thank Omocat for crafting a masterpiece of a story.

I'm not sure why exactly, but "It means everything" gets to me. It sends chills down my spine every time I listen to it. It just translates Aubrey's raw anger so perfectly well. I can feel it through the song. The rage, the agony, the hatred, the melancholy, the regrets, ... It's mesmerizing.

I think it's because it's because that song is the climax of the entire sequence everyone there went throughout up until that moment. Aubrey is fighting her friends that she thinks they betrayed her and Mari. Kel has no idea of what's going on to actually be helpful. Sunny (and you as the player, specially during your first playthrough) is still catching up that this is not the Dream World; these are actual people, they can be hurt, there's nothing to repress that fact, and you just grabbed a knife for "combat", which Aubrey saw you wielding against her. And about the people... Again, for them, their world is not a game; they're fully aware of Aubrey wielding a nailed bat against Sunny and Kel; they're fully aware of them fighting back for "childish" reasons; they're fully aware of who they are, where they came from, and who are their family.
There's no hero to help in this situation. What happened, happened. And what happened... It really means everything.
I'd suggest listening to "Anxiety" from Celeste, and if you're not concerned about minor spoilers watching the scene it's associated. It has a _very_ similar style to what's going on in It Means Everything and visualizes that feeling much more personally.

Sunny is known to have a very... _very_ powerful imagination. I bet if Sunny put his mind to any creative path, such as drawing, story telling or music making, he'd be quite succesful.
Of course, if there wasn't trauma the size of a skyscraper chilling in his noggin that is.

I think Bad Morning is criminally underrated. The parts in the game where it play are so emotional for me, and being a slowed down rendition of “Good Morning” make it hit all the more harder.

_Normal_ being forth from the bottom is so criminally low.
It is not the most catchy tune to be sure but the visceral cocktail of horror, panic, dread and sickness it instills at that moment of the game is truly PALPABLE. - one can feel it.
And through that metric I think it should be valued a lot higher.

Something about 160 water just captures such a specific vibe for me. Like how Sunny could drown and not care. To peacefully pass to the other side. But Mari dives in and saves him almost like an angel descending from the heavens. And from this Sunny realizes how much Mari cares about him and because of that he decides to value his own life too.
That's why Mari's death would just be so much for him to handle since without her he would stop valuing his own life.

Attention to detail: at 34:15, when Gone is playing, the font for the title of the song switches as Omori disappears in the background.
Man, my opinion on this entire soundtrack changed every time I played the game, the last version of 'A home with flowers?' Is one of my favourites. I don't understand how every single version couldn't make it to the top 20. The melody, change of instruments and tone is just, perfect. Also, I find Tee-hee Time the best soundtrack, the rhythm it has and the inferiority to perfect heart just conveyed so well.

I really hope Omori is also going to be a big part of this channel, I really love this game possibly even more than Undertale and DeltaRune combined and I absolutely love it's OST as well.
I think it's the best story game ever made, and that Deltarune is gonna need to keep up with the CH2 quality level for at least 3 more chapters to tske the title away from it
@@gabrote42 Yes, definitely agree. I remember when I first played the game, I used to get up early in the morning just to be able to continue playing, I was that exciting to see what happens next. I felt like a child all over again, waiting for my favorite TV show to start in the morning except now it was a video game. No game has ever managed to give me this unique form of excitenement yet that Omori did.
@@pgreta1752 Glad to see that. People felt that way with the predecessor, Earthbound. While I do think Deltarune will end up being better, I think Toby spun the EB base into something very different. This stuck to it more closely and did a damn good job at it. One of the biggest Kickstarter successes ever, even more than Hollow Knight. I love it to bits

Kinda sad OMORI doesn’t make it to the top 5 considering how iconic it is and what it leads up to but at least the parts it leads up to was number 1/3. The Duet was obviously number one from the start and My Time is iconic
in numbers, the creepy voice counting in german is sampled from a numbers station! i forget which exactly but i had a phase where i was really into them, so when i heard the sample i recognized it immediately. thought it'd be cool to share :) really like seeing everyones' opinions on what songs really hit.

It's weird to see the blackspace tracks rank in the upper half, i know its weird to say but they are my personal favorite tracks in the entire game. Numbers is probably my number 1 though

I agree, while the Blackspace tracks don't beat songs like Duet they are still very cool. They are very Yume Nikki-like. I'd probably rate White Pillars in the top 10 of all Omori tracks. I do not know why.
@@emperorprimalaspid9738 White Pillars is my second favorite track, right behind Duet. There's a unique feeling it encapsulates perfectly that I can't quite describe.
I am a sucker for anything Yume-Nikki esque, so that could have something to do with it, but all the black space tracks rank very highly for me too.
I agree that it’s disappointing they are so low! Even though the high energy boss songs slap, and of course duet is a masterpiece I think the horror tracks are just so well done in this game!

i knew the CD songs existed, but i never unlocked them or searched them up. I think it's a shame cuz i really like them now i got to hear them. I found it also pretty funny that i was vibing on one of the songs and than it goes to the next song and it's like pretty sad/scary and then i think back of all my life choises.

Wow, that premier was a wild ride. I laughed, I teared up, I had so much fun talking to everyone, including you MediaMotifs. Thanks for this massive 2 hour long journey, I got so hyped especially towards the end of the premier. While some of my favorite songs were up there, some were super low. Undertale was the first RPG game I played and first game that astounded me with it's music. But then I played OMORI last month and I was completely blown away by both it's soundtrack and the game/story as a whole. Personally my favorite game of all time, underrated and would recommend.

1:56:09 love the suspense in the editing. I used to not really enjoy this track that much, but it grew on me with time, now being one of my favorites. The first ranking one isn't really a surprise, though not one of my personal favorites, it's memorable and a great scene.

Absolutely worth the wait, Omori's one of the best games I've played in recent memory and for the most part, happy with the rankings! Shame the CDs were ranked pretty low, but at least a lot of the battle themes scored high + Omori is my #1 track. I would've tried to make room for Omori route songs but I hadn't played the route at the time of the votes, but I definitely would've voted for Remember to be Patient and Teehee Time.

I first really got into the undertale and deltarune communities a bit after your "every deltarune chapter 2 song ranked" video... and I just started watching Omori...

I honestly think Glade is so underated, it is one of the most chilling tracks onthe soundtrack not to mention the way to piano sounds mixed with the rain in the background just sets the perfect atmosphere for that point in the game. I honestly wish the creepy exploration aspect was a bit longer.

I agree, I think much has to do with either the simple, repetitive motifs (unlike the extravaganza of Worlds End Valentine and several other battles) or that most people just don't want to be reminded of the dark experiences in the game. Friends is cursed, but I really do appreciate the others in their own unique way.
Orchard would be my favourite of the Black Space area, it conveys the solitude of depression so well imo: being numb to the world who seems to carry on while you're still stuck in the past, mourning on what is left behind and shutting yourself off.

Even though im not the type to feel sad and cry about games,the final duet song just gives me happy and sad feelings at the same time,overall omori is a GOD TIER game.I dont think i can EVER find another game that i can compare omori's story with.
Also, "Push and Shove" is probably that high bc it's also Mutantheart's battle theme, and she can do no wrong ever.
(also notice how the falling piano notes and the banging in the background, and the TITLE, all sound a bit uhh....stair-related)
I love how DUET manages to capture all the aspects of Mari and Sunny growing up while not spoiling anything about Mari's death and still manages to be the sweetest song and i seriously get chills every time I listen to it, usually around here: 2:00:10

Yeah, I definitely slept on the CD music. Mostly because I judged my rankings by going through Omocat's playlist of the ost, which doesn't include any of the CD's in it, so I kind of just forgot about them. A shame.
I was so surprised when Remina was at 181- it's one of my favorites and so wonderfully creepy
As someone who hasn’t gotten past the first 10 mins in Omori but knows basically everything about the game, I didn’t know Omori had such great songs!

As for a possible reason why Push and Shove ranked so high, I can only speak for myself but the rhythm was extremely pleasant to me despite the limited instrumentation. It just embodies the feeling of game idle animations and syncs up to Boss' + the children's idle animations as well. Really screamed that we're gonna go rpg fights from that point onwards.

Every song on this track is something else, man… thanks for sharing! It was interesting to see where everything ended up, and there were even a few tracks I hadn’t heard before!
I have two (2) thoughts: one, some things people might not have noticed is that with Duet, Sunny’s part comes in slightly later than Mari’s, obviously, but this is symbolic of how he’s the younger brother. He literally only joined her life later, and they’d been playing together ever since. You also might not know, but Sunny’s part is actually really difficult to pull off compared to Mari’s. Unfortunately, I don’t play violin, so I only have hearsay on that, but I do play some piano, and Mari’s part only gets a bit complicated toward the end with some jumps. Left hand keeping rhythm with a melody in the right is very standard, and all-in-all, not the biggest challenge.
The other this is, like some were saying in the livechat, I actually really like how they only did the karaoke lyrics for Good Morning. It makes it a new experience, just you and maybe a friend, badly singing along to a song you don’t know, emotional and maybe a little snotty, but most definitely off-key. It’s another way of making the song, and by extension the game, /yours/. It’s becomes one of those experiences that sticks with you

It seriously have some really good tracks and I'm glad some of the tracks I really like got a good ranking. Even if I finished the game today, It will always have a special place in my heart. The transition from Omori to By Your Side gave me some sort of whiplast but I wouldn't have that any other way. That was an amazing transition.

it kinda surprised me how varied some of the tracks were. i was just expecting a wall of spooky ambient noise before we got anywhere but seeing songs like X Marks the Spot and especially Room for 4 really surprised me

Edit: ‘It means everything’ placing in the top 5 was surprised me but I’m so glad it did. It’s definitely my favourite track in the game. It just conveys Aubrey’s conflicting emotions so well.
For the most part, I’m super happy with the results! An underrated favourite of mine is ‘Sinking’ that placed 70th. I don’t know what it is about it, but when I first heard that track in the game I immediately commented on how beautiful yet unnerving the track was. Anyways, thanks so much for this video. I hope the omori ost gets the appreciation it deserves!
