- Master Reynaldo, GM Wilbur "Kikok" Presno, and Instructor Florenico Martin Jr. of Lagas Tapado shows the center line attack/defense. Tapado utilizes the longer stick and a double hand grip to block/defend. It woud be considered a longer range system to you can hit your target from further distance.

Straight-line domination with a long-range weapon is simple and strategic. Tapado ain't flashy and it ain't no joke either. Great work everyone!
That's why they said Tapado is from the word "Tapos." (Done, end it or finish it quick).
Considering that we use longer sticks in Lagas Tapado, compared to shorter sticks, execution can differ when it comes to speed of execution. As you can see in the video, execution is done in a slow manner. For information purposes only. But yes, we do have, shall i say flashy execution too. Depends on the intent. 😊
Straight center line attacks to intercept, neutralize and attack the same time. Love the simplicity of this. Can only imagine the pain when using the coffee wood sticks.
Thank you for your comment. You said it right, pain is present only in the early phase of training. Weight of the stick, the vibration upon contact, contributes to a little uncomfortable feeling in the hands. But as you go on, you will come to like the feeling already and may be tempted to strike harder.
Nice
Thanks, Hope this gave you some insight on how they approach training in Tapado. Anything that stood out?
Thanks sir 🙏
Great video, thanks a lot for sharing!
Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed it. There's so much other styles that has yet to be exposed to the world. We definitely have to make another trip there.

I guess, that's how you use your kampilan.
I'm sure there are similar motions that's used with both motions. Just have to know the difference from impact and edge applications.
@@FMAPulse Yes, it's not only for kampilan but for spears and staff too. It's actually nice to see a revival of how we use our own melee weaponry besides the machetes and your standard arnis sticks.
