Thank god this was a "much more in depth guide" lmao. Fr tho, there are a lot of sudden changes and overall technical issues that happen halfway through the build that aren't acknowledged or explained and definitely should be. Although this is a tutorial for more experienced players, as well as those who are already familiarised with world edit, people can't simply guess what you're trying to do, let alone without any change in perspective whatsoever. The build is absolutely great, really, however this shouldn't be called a tutorial.
Terrible tutorial. Numerous times, the cuts miss out on important pieces of wall changes, the original floorplan gets changed to many times, the walls shift several times. Its a great build but this is NOT a tutorial. Sorry mate.
@@birb.9684yeah be basically did a patch job underneath, the left side is one block moved over, so the support connected to the bottom of the room above is one block off from the rest
yeah, no I will not be making tutorials in survival. I don't have the patience unfortunately. I am open to do doing a let's play eventually, but a build of this scale would be a no go. If you want a litematica file that you can import into survival, it will render a holographic blueprint within your world that you can build without world edit, and using materials you collected yourself. Those are available on my Patreon as a reward for supporting, and this download should be up on there in a few days.
@@ronaldraygun9093 i think itd be better to not go over every detail, but give rough shapes and designs without a ton of detail and decoration, like how other huge building tutorials. they all have a “now detail/decorate” section where they detail it without showing you how, yknow?

Hey, if you're still working in it- do you have a list of pallette blocks or blocks used? I can't tell well without names so I hoped you mightve compiled something!
You can actually build this in survival if you pay really close attention to the proportions of the build, the detailing and since he put up all the blocks he used in this tutorial you can collect a rough estimate of those blocks and use them for this build, or you could follow along in a creative world then note down all the blocks you placed to get the exact amount of blocks needed for this build using the settings to view what blocks have been placed ( if you used some blocks as placeholders that where also used for texturing you can do the total number of that block placed - the total number of that block broken) from that point on you can just recreate it in survival as you will be able to view it in the creative world anytime. Hope this explanation helped ❤
Was gonna use this in a world but following the template with the placeholder blocks to change them later with other blocks was hard, especially coming up with a color palette that didn’t make it look bland so I’ll hopefully try to figure out a new observatory

How does the width of the front change from 12 to 11 @3:15 I've been building this manually in survival and its a massive setback if I have to go back and re build an entire wall
I've been having the same issue. It's very quick because it's sped up but I finally found that he changed the wall @ 3:07 in the time lapse and didn't mention it, so it throws everything else off

A combination of places. Sometimes I see a reference image and start there, then see where the build takes me. I’ve been working recently with celestial symbols (suns, moons, stars), so an observatory seemed logical. If you look at my builds, many of them can be grouped together. Sometimes I’ll run with a category for a while, until I find the subject matter has become tired. It’s within those in between periods where my lower quality work is produced, but then I find a new direction and run with it
Is this WAY above my build skill level? yes. Am i still going to try and build it in. my survival world? also yes. (i usually make little medieval towns, not megabuilds but this is so cuuuute)

yeah, a build of this scale needs a longer tutorial. not just ten minutes of using world edit. better to just use as a reference/inspiration.
At 3:08 you change the width of the building above/behind the roof and you never even acknowledge it. It alters a lot of the whole building!

2:10 the lengths are wrong, the inner roof is actually 10 so adjust your builds from there if you're following this.

One thing I was thinking about doing is downloading the world, make it a schematic and put it in your world using litematica
It teaches you how to build, rather than spoonfeeding you a build. I used this for inspiration on building from my own reference images.
