Thank you n.n I know how you felt, it was almost the same for me for years, I was never able to go beyond the tube back in the day. This patch gave me the reinforcements I needed to try again till I finally got it. Too bad the game lacks a second lap ("Contra" style).
Finalmente eu sei o que significa o início. Eu estava em dúvida se relatava um ataque nuclear ou um ataque alienígena. Agora que saber o que o japonês grita no começo do jogo
The US version is trash, not sure how much easier it is, i remember it starts with 5 instead of 3 lives. I never played that, just the proper game from a Chinese bootleg. It was a worthy challenge to finish it, first with a friend and then alone. Its not super hard, so making it easier to me seems stupid (and the game is short with 5 levels so you don't want to do that), just like it happened to Rockman 2 which as it came from Japan was very easy already yet they made it even easier for the Americans... This i say again and again, the opening is the soul of this game, removing it to fit the stupid Nintendo of America rules ruined it.
Ngl, fuck the Japanese version. As a Brazilian kid, I had this on a 4-in-1 cartridge, and while I loved the intro and always wanted to know the plot, it was SO. DAMN. HARD. It would literally be perfect if everything S.C.A.T. had would be implemented in the Japanese version. Why did it need to be so hard...
Hardcore difficulty was the name of the game back then, now you get the ROM and you want to finish it right away to get another, but in the old days, games were expensive and you wanted your new game to last as much as possible. This was only possible through difficulty in some genres. It was a sad day if you bought a new game, just to finish It In a few minutes. I like japanese version better, harder, with this amazing opening, and the added handicap of losing your weapon whenever you were hit. S.C.A.T. had instant game over if you were killed by the screen, that didn't happen in Final Mission. S.C.A.T. also has a disgusting meaning in english, what were they thinking?
Tq to u..im finally...able to see the end of this memorable..game..bcz i could never pass through the second stage...
Thank you n.n

This is lot harder than US version but it's very impressive story

Though it's not related to Contra, it's flying Contra.
Those sprites speak for themselves lol
