Oh yess this is what I need. I have been rediscovering Gadget and making all sorts of cool stuff I never thought possible all those years ago when I first got into iOS music making. A couple of cool stuff I have done so far is: Make jungle breakbeats chopping samples and using rex2 loops with stockholm and abu dhabi. I also found out you can now change BPM between scenes and it has a smoothing option, pair this with Sydney’s BPM sync option for automated smooth timestretching on melodic samples and automate stockholm pitch parameters to match the slowing BPM for cool effects on the breakbeats. This allows for a cool “slowdown” effect on the whole track, similar to slowing down the tempo on Launchpad. Another cool thing was using the MS-20 gadget audio input to process sound from other Gadgets. I love stockholm, but it does not have those gadget internal FX (different from the track IFX) that most other gadgets have. I specifically like the grain shift effect to make glitchy drum break sounds. You can route the audio from stockholm, or any gadget, into MS-20 and then process it with filters, envelopes, modulators and also those internal effects (all of which can be automated on Gadget’s sequencer). This way I managed to build an FX chain to process my breakbeats that sounds quite like Audio Damage’s Replicant but inside gadget 😊 And last but not least, I dusted off audiobus to route midi from Taipei back into Gadget to make super synths, playing multiple instances of Darwin/Warszawa/Milpitas with a single keyboard, also gotta try to control parameters on multiple synths with the Taipei kaoss pad, LFO and knobs…. I never got into the AUM workflow of connecting multiple independent apps, I wonder if there are more clever ways to get over the MIDI limitations in Gadget by connecting to other apps in that way. I specifically want something that allows me to “import” MIDI per scene/clip/track which is sorely missing in Gadget. I might upload some videos of how these experiments actually sound, looking forward to this new tutorial series and thanks again for all the valuable information you put out there!
@@soundformore Absolutely! I would have thought that this would attract a good number of views but if not then I understand that it’s not practical for you to spend more time on it. Fingers crossed 🤞👍
One of my best App Léo !! Îll make this purchase again … There are flaws for sure, but it's so pleasant to use…,i use it each Time I composed a song ., thanks for this vidéo
This is great, Leo. Started using the KG 3 a few weeks ago, could not be happier with my purchase. Keep these tutorials coming, learned a few things I did not know!
Thank you, I am here to help, please support the channel by subscribing and liking videos and leaving comments like this great one you just left :) … I will help as much as I can …
Thank you. What I am trying to understand, is if it is possible to record a track using Korg Gadget, and then get it to MIDI control my Waldorf Iridium keyboard, so that I can record the keyboard's output in Logic Pro X. I thought that maybe by muting all the other tracks, other than the one I will record each time. Can you explain if this is possible, and if so, how can I achieve it?
actually gadget is relatively self explanatory, but it’s still good to watch a tutorial, in case you missed out on something not as obvious. so i‘m looking forward to more of your videos. one thing that easily might get lost is the importance of the function button. as it gives you access to to basically every the edit option, it actually should be three times as large and bright red! but as korg didn’t see the necessity to highlight this button a bit more in their gui, it might be good to mention it’s importance in some of your videos. two other quite basic functions i couldn’t find yet... is there any undo function hidden in gadget somewhere? i never saw any button for it anywhere, so is there a trick like shaking my ipad or is there simply no undo in gadget? in most apps i know you just double tab a controller to reset it to its default value. not so in gadget! is there any other way to do it here?
Hello Leo. Nice tutorial. How would your recommend connecting midi instruments like scalar to Gadget? I use AudioBus to pipe the midi patterns to Gadget's piano roll.
Looking forward to future episodes. People tell me they start projects in gadget and finish them in Logic Pro. In your expertise, I would love to know what you do in Logic Pro that takes a Gadget song to the next level.@@soundformore
@matthewchunk3689 there is so much to cover on this topic. Of course you can use all the gadgets in gadget and then export midi or audio tracks to Logic Pro. In Logic pro you have in my view many more options for mixing, mastering, audio editing, audio effects etc. or to add voice over a track you have more options in Logic Pro. Also Logic pro supports AUv3 so you have access to all the AUv3 app to finish off your song… it really depends on what you are looking for but Logic Pro gives you more options than gadget as a DAW and now that some gadgets are also running as AUv3, they can run inside Logic Pro…
Hello, how do you share userfiles/samples between different devices? I made a program on bilboa with user samples but after exporting etc the user samples are not on the other device.
That is covered in tutorial 5 but not many options yet I am afraid… IOS Korg Gadget 3- Ultimate Guide Everything you need to know - Tutorial 5 [EDIT SCREEN, PIANO ROLL] ua-cam.com/video/u7vATJac8C8/v-deo.html

two other quite basic functions i couldn’t find yet...
is there any undo function hidden in gadget somewhere? i never saw any button for it anywhere, so is there a trick like shaking my ipad or is there simply no undo in gadget?
in most apps i know you just double tab a controller to reset it to its default value. not so in gadget! is there any other way to do it here?
There is no global undo yet, just undo for realtime recording…
@@soundformorethere is an undo button that appears when you edit midi on the piano roll as well, extremely useful
Yes, that is the one I was referring to… :) but didn’t see any others sadly…
so when i purchase the app korg gadget3 on my ipad, i can use all the music instrument? or i need to pay more?
You need to pay for additional gadgets
@@soundformore ah so it's more expensive then.. thanks for the reply.. 🙏👍

Yes because it is exporting only the programme and the samples are local to the device. You can transfer them via file manager though
Ik thanks
