It’s crazy how I’m changing the brakes to my 95’ LS 400 a day after you posted. I appreciate the video👍
So to compress pistons, there's a MUCH easier way. With the old pads still in and the caliper still mounted, just use a pair of channel locks and squeeze the pad backing plate against the caliper - I squeeze on the pad and pad retention pin head. Super fast and easy.
Are you not supposed to grease some of the friction prone parts of the system?
Also,I hope you went back and torqued the caliper bolts to their required specs
11:58 the retaining pin has a bend in the middle, that part of the pin must be inserted on the side of the calipe, where there's a hole to put the retaining pin inside. What I see on the very last second of the video is the pin has been inserted the opposite way, so that bend in the middle of the retaining pin it's pointing the wrong way.
Let us here i guarantee your scrapping I’ve been trying to do this for my celsior WITH GREASE and it still rubs
Thanks for posting 🌹
You got the rotors on backwards . Slotted side should aim to the back.
At 4:10 what is the bolt called that you’re spraying the spray on? I first thought it was the guide pin but when I went to go do mine they werent
Those are the caliper bolts, n why they sprayed the fluid on it. Whole suspension looks rusted too the max!
You don't have to open the master cylinder.
When you compress the piston in the caliper yes you are supposed to it lets the pressure out and compressed easier.
If you like your seals not blown out, it’s best to open the Master Cylinder
Been doing it for over 30 years, you don't have to open the master cylinder.
Bro doesn’t shit about cars lol, fronts are usually heavier with the brake setup, and wearing gloves but just recording 😂
right folkk got the weakest impact and he coulda just used the old brake pad to compress both pistons on each side gtfoo
