No unless you have a lightning to USBC which some iPads use then it might

Yes it stays on old phone. Just depends on how much stuff it has to copy over.

I tried transferring recently from the iphone SE to pixel 7. But it looped endlessly on calculating time needed. Turns out as of IOs 16+ which wasn't optional to my knowledge it's not possible to transfer! Please help!!
