Ugandan unga is of very high quality compared to Kenyan one. Our Kenya unga can’t compare to Ugandan unga. Learnt from experience. I used to take Ugandan unga to Kenya when I lived in UG. They also steam their Ugali with banana leaves and it is cooked for hours and has nice flavours

I was born in Uganda so I enjoyed this vlog so much. Eating on Banana leaves is botanical and hygienic. Love it. In South India also they use banana leaves instead of plates to eat from. It is a delicacy in the west as banana leaves are so expensive in stores. Matoke steamed in bananana leaves is what we were served at primary school break time. So tasty. Also cassava steamed in banana leaves is very tasty. You did very well Pluto. Staple in Uganda is Matoke with peanut sauce. I wish they had cooked that. Those women are so energetic. The way they greet kneeling down is very nostalgic for me as I saw it growing up.

Matoke is only eaten in the central. Go to the Northern part of Uganda. You will find Ugali is mostly eaten.

Those green vegetables here in Kenya are called: Amaranthus or pigweed (Mchicha (Swahili), Terere (Kikuyu), Lidodo (Luhya), Ododo (Luo).
