Thanks! For the service announcement your spot on I work in the medical field and I can tell you I’ve seen many postmortem hearts with blockages from patients who had no idea they had heart trouble
I agree with not ignoring symptoms concerning your heart. In June I experienced chest burning and back pain. Being a retired ER nurse, I drove myself to the ER. I ended up with a catheterization with two vessel blockage of 95%! I never had a cardiac or cholesterol history. Five stents later and I was good to go!
Thank you for sharing that info. Unbelievable! It shows you care about your collectible friends. My father started exercising at 57 and did a 15 min. routine every day of his life until 4 days before he passed at 96. He started before he got out of bed by limbering up his arms, ankles etc. He played tennis until 95. Such an inspiration for me.
Sorry to hear about your health scare! Thank you for passing on your Health Advice, it is much appreciated. As usual, another fascinating and educational video. Best wishes from England, Tom.
PSA as good as the Lugers. Both my parents had heart disease, heart attacks, didn’t eat enough Mrs. Dash, so I turned into a gun-person vegetarian. Highly recommended for joint health. Dad served in post-war Germany, 1st trumpeter, army band, making the world safe for democracy one Sousa march at a time. Stay healthy.
Tom, I’ve really enjoyed your videos and have gained a lot of gun knowledge and confidence in your company and it’s integrity. Your PSA really seals that deal. You had nothing to gain by sharing your experience and did it anyway. Thanks for that. I hope to contact you soon to expand on my recent purchase of a mag for my 1918 DWM. I’d like to collect from several Luger eras going forward and I have to say that your openness will absolutely determine with whom I spend my money.
Thanks for the Public Service Announcement. Very pleased that you were able to “dodge the bullet” and remain among those who look down at the grass rather than up at it. Looking forward to more of your most interesting videos.
Beautiful lugers ! I just got a really nice 1921 9mm military luger and I found it in Jan Stills luger book. My serial numbers match what the book calls the first set of military alphabet lugers sold to the German military.
Great video! The commercial DWM with the original box is very cool. Seldom are the boxes encountered. Extremely hard if not impossible to upgrade either of the two examples. They literally appear to have come back from a time machine!
Thank God Almighty you were blessed by having your doctor friend point you in the right direction. I am glad you are doing great. I am 58 and I just retired. I doctor directed me to a cardiologist. So far so good. A few more tests to come and I should be good for another 100k miles.
Glad you're recovering. I'm 33 and have Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome, and have dealt with a few procedures and scary moments over my life so far. Heart health is very important, not just for someone who is at risk. A healthier heart leads to longer life! Thank God for modern medicine.
Oof. I'm an overweight 31 year old with not the healthiest lifestyle. I've got heart issues in the family. Kinda makes me want to go get checked for heart issues. Better safe than sorry.
Glad you are ok I'm 42 and been diabetic ever since I was 18 months old and I just started having some heart problems and had a block in my right leg they cleaned out take care of yourself caus I love the old war guns you have on here and talk about.
I'm recovering at this moment after having a replacement heart valve 2 weeks ago so really interested to hear your story as well. Keep the videos coming and no need to apologise about bringing personal stuff to the table, it's fine by me.
@@clevlandblock it was the full works for me, huge cut down the middle of my chest and replacement mechanical aorta valve. In fairness it's a neat job but still very noticeable. Getting stronger day by day but it's something I don't ever want to have to go through again.
@@2172cc Thanks for the reply. I'm facing aortic valve replacement also at age 69. They haven't decided if I'm to get the minimally invasive route (TAVR) or the route you got. Either way they are talking pig valve not mechanical. They'll decide after this Wednesday when I get an angiogram and exploratory catheter. Wishing you a full and speedy recovery and a long life.
Glad all went well for you! One thing to add, so many people between 30 and 40 don't go to the doctor as well. Even though you're still kind of young, things can go wrong during those ages. You can have very high blood pressure and diabetes at 35 years old. Good thing is, being so young, you have time to fix that before it snowballs into your older age. So if anything, go to the doctor and get checked out every single year. Do not miss a year. Those guns are amazing as well. Top notch.
Thanks for the public service announcement, after 80 laps around the sun I have to stay aware of some of the possible health issues. Thoroughly enjoyed your videos on factory fresh Lugers, they are beautiful. I bought a "shooter " Luger in mid 60s that I enjoyed shooting. It was stolen from me in a burglary and I never got another Luger but have owned a couple of P-38s. My shooter cost me $65.00! Those were the days my friend...
Glad that you are recovering. I am in the same age group as you. Yes you are correct in suggesting a cardiologist visit. When men and women get into their 50s, they should start seeing a cardiologist. It can help prevent bigger events by catching little details when they start.
Great PSA! I’m only in my early 40’s but during the pandemic (in my part of Australia) clinic’s were offering a heart check that was fully government subsidised. Went in and got an echocardiogram and did the stress test. Luckily I’m a ok!
So glad you got your heart sorted out..... Your videos are very informative and they're delivered in a nice friendly manner...... Please keep them coming..... 👍🏻
Yes Tom, so very important to take immediate action when any sign of pain or shortness of breath is evident, so many people ignore the initial signs and hence the damage to your heart is irreversible. Well done Tom and thank you for passing this information on to your viewers,
AS usual great info Tom, and thanks for sharing the medical advice. I am scheduling my stress test this week. As for the video, once again the knowledge given is unsurpassed and always accurate. Keep up the good work!
The older you get, as you experience the return of pain due to arthritis from sports competition, you’ll find other avenues for your prosthetic design talents. Good luck!!!👍👍
Got it done before you had a heart attack, brilliant! And that’s the diferance between American health care and UK health care, you got it looked at next day. In the UK you probably won’t get looked at till your on the mortuary slab. (age 64)
Like you I have two stints. One artery was 100%, the other 80%. How ever they went thru my groin. After a little over 24hr, I got to go hm. That was when I was 69, I'm 72 and still riding my H.D. Road King. As far as the Lugers,.. I can only dream of one. Perhaps maybe one day? Thanks for the video. 🇺🇸😎
Had trouble with my heart beat started fluttering about two years ago I was diagnosed with Afib and I had a catheterization but my arteries are all good A year later I had an ablation interesting to hear your story
This Lugers are in amazing condition. I wonder what happened during this years that nobody use them... Btw I'm glad that Your health went back to normal. Take care of yourself.
When your GP says “it’s nothing to worry about”, time to get checked! Exactly same story for my dad except he didn’t get checked and actually had the heart attack, only just made it and only came back to about 70%.
Good on you for speaking out, not enough men take notice of what their body is telling them and not just the older guys, I starting having heart palpitations when I was 41 and was slim, active and what I thought as fit, my wife forced me to go to see a cardiologist even after the doctor told me as was fine, turns out I needed surgery to correct the problem.. Look after yourselves guys and don't take the first opinion if you feel you are not well.. Great content as always Tom..
4:49 And don't forget to fire your existing doctor. Tom, I wish I had a friend like you growing up. Pretty sure we'd be long time friends today. Thanks for the tip! BTW, you're right, some of your new customers like me, are under 60. I'm loving my Black Widow Luger!
Primary care physician nearly killed me by misdiagnosis when I was 41and another misdiagnosis by another on my buddy at 61cost him his life! Never rely on one doctor and pay attention to what your body tells you.
Thank you for doing this I had 4 stents done 2 this April and to more in may if it had not been for my family making me go too the emergency I think I would not be here today again Thank you
Go thing you went to the cardiologist, stress test are vital, I’ve had 3 cause of my profession, I’m good. Thank god your well, and love the channel, informative, and nice looking guns. Stay safe🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Had the same exact same thing. Still have one fully blocked that bypassed itself but is still a tad too small.. feel great and caught it early.. so gentlemen DO NOT IGNORE WHAT YOUR BODY IS SAYING!!
That’s was very well said. Wondering to do the same coz just started jogging again and get out of puff a bit too soon I think. Much sooner than before anyway but is that age or something else. Pulse seems fine in a rested state though. Like you am a bit timid to get checked out but maybe I shall after watching this. Anyway great that you told your story.
I inherited a tub of oil containing firearms recovered from a fire. One piece is a 1915 Luger DWM with matching parts (except the Locking Bolt). Took a lot of cleaning and work and a new set of springs and a new set of wood grips but took it to the range the other day and shot it (magazine spring is weak) and it works! There is only a little ware on the 'hump' but since I plan on making it a 'working' gun and not just a show piece I am thinking about stripping the bluing and re-doing it. What do you think?
My DWM Luger is dated 1915, but it's not in that great of condition, it's also my shooter and a fine shooter it is. I have a 1939 Luger in very nice condition that I've only shot once, and might never again.
I went to my primary (for the 1st time). Spent the next 7 days and nights in the hospital. I was just too stubborn to go YEARS earlier when I should have.
Glad to hear you're okay. I wish you a long, healthy and beautiful life. A beautiful life filled with beautiful, rare collectibles that will make you happy. :)

No matter how old , they were all straight shooting guns . I had two of these ,
I also had a p 38 and it was a straight shooter !

Luger is my favourite gun of all time. No modern pistols come close to the look of a Luger. 👍🇦🇺
You're absolutely right!
Makarov.
@@morriszachrisson8359are you mental? I mean the makarov is cool and all, I love mine. But it’s the ugly stepchild compared to my Lugers
