      @@blastermasterdbs225 I mainly want it for the battery and camera/storage, I know the camera on it isn't amazing and as a photographer I know megapixels don't mean much if the camera matrix itself is whack, but as far as I researched the camera on it is decent if you know how to use it. Mainly I like it because of the price, I researched other phones for around 150$ and it seems to have the best specs, and it's a flagship phone and not a cheap budget one so it will perform and last a while.

    Picked up the Edge 2022 on a port over from Verizon to T Mobile. Not only received
    the Edge 2022 for free, but qualified for the Essentials 55+ Plan that cost me
    35% less than my Verizon plan that was a 4G Plan, if I had upgraded to the Verizon 5G
    Plan it would have cost double the T Mobile Plan and would have to buy a phone.
    Very happy with every aspect and functionality of the Edge 2022. I think it is the best
    bang for the buck of any phones on the market.

    So I'm actually personally watching this on my old busted Moto Edge 2020, and I'd have to say I'm extremely disappointed that their name "Edge" no longer holds up to its name as their 2021 and 2022 literally does NOT have an edge display. Either rename it or keep the edge display. Not sure what they were trying to do after 2020, but these newer options suck. It's especially confusing why they would downgrade the stereo and put the fingerprint on the side on the 2021 model, nor would I understand why would they go 4k for the selfie camera for 2021 and go back to 1080p for 2022. These companies cannot decide and plan these things out properly. However, my biggest contender to a great phone is an *expandable memory slot and a 3.5mm jack,* which is why I specifically chose the first Edge back in 2020 because it was the best phone I can find featuring those, while still being considered high-end for its time; even though I had to *sacrifice wireless charging* (Edge Plus 2020 had wireless charging but no microSD or 3.5). I currently have a 256gb microSD with 256gb internal storage topping out at 512gb (which practically holds part of my life on), while plugging in my headphones wired mode when its wireless mode battery dies - now that seems like a wonderful and reasonable compromise to deem those two features useful...
    It sucks because the 2020 was a great model when it was first introduced, which is why I may end up buying it brand new again (before all the new 2020 ones are gone) to replace my current busted 2020 one, for 270 bucks on Amazon since it's better than all of these newer crappy options in my personal opinion. I can rant more and more about my opinions on smartphones, but then this comment would be three times longer than it currently is.

      I'm planning on getting the 2020 version, I heard about screen issues, except green tint display issues, did you ever suffer a broken screen? does the phone survive considerable falls/drops without breaking the screen?

    • @radanju3
      @radanju3 Рік тому +1

      @@chineduodo8667 Not sure why I'm seeing this reply just now.
      Anyways, short answer, barely; one little crack will basically make the screen go berserk. It got so bad after my first comment after dropping it a few more times that I can only tap on one part of the screen and I eventually had to plug in a bluetooth mouse and keyboard to use it. Not worth replacing the screen either due to cost and the fact that internal hardware will fail anyways slowly due to "shock in the system" due to dropping it so much.
      Anyways, the long answer, I worked in a harsh environment prior which caused me to drop it in the first place. Basically, if you don't crack it, the screen has a slim to none chance of losing colors and whatnot - so at least you don't have to worry about it if you *_just never drop it_* I guess. Despite what it is (since that's how all curved screens are for that matter), I decided myself to actually buy an exact same Edge 2020 model *brand new* on Amazon for around $250 bucks. I was surprised to see they still sell it brand new and for half the price that I got it brand new than when I got my first in 2020. I have to say it's still a very beautiful phone, so long as you never drop it. I've since switched jobs, so I have a extreme less of a chance of dropping it, and I plan on getting a second phone for work specifically so I don't worry about this one. I love the 2020 Edge so much in terms of its cosmetics, but it's also one of those phones you absolutely don't want to toss around by accident, because that's pretty much it. Even if you get the screen replaced, over time because it already took "shock to its system", hardware components internally will start to fail, more than any other smartphone I've used historically. You're better off going for a different more sturdy phone if you don't care about aesthetics. However if you're like me who likes using stylish edge animating apps for music such as Muviz Edge, go crazy. The Edge 2020 will last you for what you're spending.

    I traded My Pixel 6 for the 2022 Edge and it was/is a GREAT decision. I love the Edge. fast, great battery(never runs hot...goodbye pixel), GREAT SCREEN, LIGHTWEIGHT, stock android 12 is perfectly fine. The phone runs everything I need Office, moderate gaming, surfing etc. Motorola Gestures controls are unique and great(2 shakes on/off flashlight). Simply put this is a fantastic mid range phone. Before my Pixel I also had the samsung s22 and it was like holding a burning brick...I kept it 2 weeks before "downsizing" the the pixel. it was a slightly smaller, slightly cooler brick. But still a hot brick masquerading as a phone.

      It's interesting, the Pixels always have such glowing reviews by journalists, but when you look at actual user reviews people mention so many software issues and glitches. The Edge 2022 looks awesome and I'd get it if Tracfone ever offers it (I have so many points saved up with them over the years that I have a $300 off coupon.) Sadly I might have a just get the Samsung A53 instead but I'd much rather have the Edge.
