    ive had my period for around two years and i dont think anyone really told me how to take care of it properly, just put a pad on and call it a day. im still really uncomfortable with tampons so i still stick with pads. ive never been the best with hygiene so thank you for this. i have a lighter flow so i usually change my pad when i wake up and then at around lunch and then at night time. should i still change it more often?

    • @looper5070
      @looper5070 3 роки тому +35

      Hey! Yes you should change it more often and try washing with a dye free unscented soap like dove with warm water in between changes if possible…our lady parts are sensitive and can harbor bacteria from not changing pads/liners often. Hope that helps

      It's seriously not needed to change yr pad this much actually the 3 times a day is good
      Bc u did say your flow was light so it's really not needed

    Your tips are great! Additionally If you change to organic pads, tampons, or menstrual cup and period supplies. Your pain, cycle, smells will remain fresh. Your lady parts will be happy with possible lighter and shorter cycles . The non organic pads have soooo many unnecessary chemicals and it’s really not healthy for your body and can really imbalance your PH.

      What am and pm shower is standard minimum. Plus when I change my sanitary products I always rinse with water ( carry a small empty plastic bottle) and pat dry with tissue.Some wipes have given me BV and irritation. I always spay my lower clothing with perfume andcsoay deodorant on inside of my jeans, shorts ect ect.

    Great tips!
    Definitely change your pad and tampon more than what is recommended on the packaging. When changing your personal care items it also depends on your flow. When you change a pad / tampon NEVER flush down the toilet. Always wrap it up with a pad wrapper or toilet paper and put into a plastic baggie. And make sure that you properly wipe yourself and use baby wipes that are flushable and don't have a high perfume fragrance. If you can afford try and get organic / natural pads and tampons it may help you with your cramps. If you can't afford it then it's fine. If you are new or aren't completely sure when your starting your menstrual cycle download some type of period tracker it will help. I personally recremend Flo. It works amazingly I've been using the app since I was 13 and about 85% of the time the app is accurate. Also keep in mind if you have a period tracker make sure that you keep editing your cycle ever month it helps the app become more accurate. Also always keep a period kit fully stocked in your backpack, purse and locker etc or wherever else you may need one. Try not to purchase pads or tampons that's scented some people it can throw off your pH balance/ give you infections or possibly an allergic reaction. When you are on your menstrual cycle I would definitely recommend showing twice a day.
    I hope some of this advice will help someone out.

      It depends if it's brown more days during your cycle. Blood becomes brown when it is exposed to oxygen, so depending on how much oxygen you naturally get in there, it can range between colors.
