I was so impressed that I watched this twice in a row. My only complaint is that with skills like yours you could've had a camera on there. Then it'll be a Mavic drone for sure.

It would still be very far from a Mavic drone. It would need gps capability, multiple cameras that acted as sensors to tell the drone that it is about to impact something and also include object avoidance software. Simply adding a 4k camera would be super basic and easy compared to all the other crap that would need to be added to make this thing comparable to a DJI Mavic.

A drone this awesome deserves a better control board than a kk2. I like the spracing f3 even though loading the firmware is a pain.

I wonder how many year to have for all those part and equipment
ender 3 is about 210 bucks 10 bucks for 2kg spool. Tools he shows all can be had for under 30 bucks. Motors, controllers, batteries, ect. are probably around 200 to 300.
So from scratch its about 500 dollars USD. This doesn't include the price you pay for your time.

You can use apm 2.8 or pixhawk instead of kk 2.x as apm is stable and has more features like GPS etc

Cute, it looks a bit like a Mavic. But as the owner of multiple drones, the reason I spent over a grand on a Mavic is because it has a 4k camera on a gimbal and will stream video 7km and fly home via GPS, has ultrasonic to avoid bumping into things, a downward facing camera to lock onto a home point to within inches, a head tracking headset with full telemetry overlay on a heads up display with artificial horizon and has fully autonomous capability. Also has barometer and compass as well as GPS so you can "park" in the sky hands off for 20 min + . Can this blue one do any of that? I think not.
These are great points but those are the easy parts. Anyone can get a collision detection system online, and by choosing your own transmitter, you could make your drone fly anywhere with signal (far beyond what you legally are supposed to). By custom building, you can add an 8k camera on a 4-axis gimbal. Custom is king, if you have the patience.

How are you liking the Form 3? I worked with a Form 2 for dental work and it worked fine for a while but broke down quickly and I got next to no support.

Short note: the kk2.0 doesn't like 4x bec from the escs. One is enought, all four can cause of issues and burn the board. So leave 3x vcc and solder only sig and gnd.
My kk2 board got smoked because i plugged in all 4 ESCs. I didn't realize that would be an issue. kk2 board suck compared to modern Flight controllers running betaflight, iNav, etc.

very cool video and home made drone, congrats! But it's definitely not a mavic air ;) not very stable, lot of oscillations, the range is 500m at most with no FPV, no super stable and orientable 4k camera, no camera for collision detection and for very precise altitude, no GPS, etc

HeroSpartan no. One motor alone costs at least 4 times as much. And flight controllers are not cheap.

So..something like 20 € for the motors,10€ for the ESCs, 60€ for the transmitter and the price of the battery depends on how much power you want. The link for the Reciever doesn’t work, so I don’t know how much it costs.
And what does the flight controller cost?

You should put a spring on the fold out joints between the nut and the inside of the joint, so when you go to fold out the propeller arms there is a way for the arms to flex open so that there is enough space for the proud locking joints to move into the receiver joints and then the spring will tension the joint back up when they interlock. I explained this terribly, I hope you see what I mean tho....

You could go with anything newer when it comes to flight control board cause the kk is super old at this point and doesn't have the ability to connect to any extra modules like GPU etc

They are really old, trust me
The escs are way bigger than what we use today, and the only advantage this kk2 has is that it has a screen
I would never use that style of prop adaptor on a quad.
On a plane you can glide to land if a prop comes off, that thing becomes an out of control brick.
Also KK2 is almost as old as it gets for flight controllers.
I think Noah used one to stabilise the arc. :p

What parts would you recommend. If its not a lot to ask.
For a camera quadcopter: Pixhawk PX4 or Naza mini as a Flight controller, For a race quad: Matek F405 or an F4 running BetaFlight
No motors with these prop adaptors, just use some generic 2205s or 2204
Use XT60 connectors on your batteries, they are much better
Use comptact ESCs made for 250 quads, they are much smaller and you can add caps if you want to

I built a clone a few weeks ago. Just purchased the chassis components off Ebay for about $40 dollars. Works great. I used a NAZI system for flight control.
