Thanks for the lighting tip, know i know what i was doing wrong with my purple pit as well. One question, after you dump your coals, do you leave the lid open or close it with all vents open? i got the point about the side vents. Thanks again.
Thanks man and I leave the lid open for a few minutes, then yea close it up and open up both intakes and exhaust vent. Once I hit about 200 degrees I will close down the vents to where I know they will hit 250. I did this lighting method the next day and it worked good
