I love that: - Lily would never leave her significant other (Asuka) from her sight. - Xiaoyu casually confesses her love to Jin. - Also, I thought it was weird that Reina became somewhat obsessed with observing Jin. - Paul, Law & Kuma scene had me dead. I love the concept of Jin's final transformation, half-half was cool, but the pure form... It was unexpected but not to my taste in terms of design. I think they took some elements of the flying fight scene from Tekken: Blood Vengeance movie. Tekken 8 looked like they killed quite the amount of characters from the story and holy shit I can't believe they brought back that big fight at the Colosseum!!!
Reina wanted to find out what was necessary to lure out the devil/activate the devil gene. And she got her answer: Proximity to death. Which is why she took Devil Kazuyas Blast head on. And it worked. At this point I am pretty sure she is a clone of Kazumi or from the same clan.

that's kinda the problem with fighting games. they're not supposed to be story-driven games, they're supposed to feature people beating each other up. the problem is that killing them from the story also means not having them as playable characters, which can't happen so either they go the mortal kombat route of rebooting the story, or the tekken route of never ending conflict. i think games with on-going stories are hitting that point now, especially tekken and street fighter. you can't repeat the same story forever, so either they make a story separate from the gameplay, or just do this weird mix

WOW! That's a relief. So Jun Kazama is still alive and she's gonna save Kazuya, Reina's gonna be the next villain and an Angel Jin is born with him and Xiaoyu now a couple. Tekken 9 will be waiting for us in the next few years!
I guess that explanation about how the Devil gene is powered by desire explains why Heihachi was able to relatively easily overpower Kazumi. She was committed to her mission but didn’t really want to go through with it.
Jun and Jin is probably the most heart warming part out of the entire story but also knowing what happened to Jun during after T2 and pre T3 really shows she did all costs to protect Jin but also knew she had a plan to save both Jin and Kazuya. One of the best Video Game mothers.
The juxtaposition between Lars' team being headed by Victor and Lee with their squad going over their battle plans surrounded by high-tech monitors inside of an airship, and Jin's team being lead by Lili in her bubblegum pink jet with her tablet full of Kazama family secrets was pretty hilarious. A lot of characters got really good showings this time, and I'm still in shock that we had 2 more characters die! Leo being a source of encouragement for Jin was great, their interaction with Azucena was also a good look into their character. Hwoarang being all of us when he addresses Asuka as Jin's "sister or something" was so funny. LOL Xiaoyu being the protector instead of a damsel was awesome. Lili being proactive in offering up support (and keeping Asuka hostage the whole story) was cool, she was a lot more involved that I though she'd be. Jin might actually be able to become a more fleshed out character since he seems to highly value everyone that helped him out, he might actally start talking instead of being s stoic grump. lol As for Reina....very unexpected! They definitely used her to set up the next arc in Tekken's story and I'm very interested to see what kind of villain(?) she'll turn out to be!
what do you mean reina unexpected? lol we literally hear her inner thoughts and know she's up to something she standing up against devil kaz also gave away that she not only knew of the devil gene, but was capable of fighting against a full demon then she survives being nuked and has the red eyes before they reveal her as a devil it was everything but unexpected. if anything, the trailer threw some people off since she was on the good side while azucena was on the bad side turned out the first assumption was correct

I got Goosebumps at 1:22:25 That's by far one of the Best Call Outs Crys in the History of Tekken! And to Top it off to have Kazuya see Heihachi while Lars Headbutts him is Iconic.
I'm Italian, and I love that the tournament's arena feels like it is based off the three Amphitheatres from my region (Pompeii, Pozzzuoli and Capua), the largest in Italy outside the Colosseum. I am now picturing Tekken happening not that far from my city
It was pretty good but i still hate that Bryan and yoshi got next to no screentime and got pretty much unused, despite beign both quite easy to put inside this conflict
Despite being older than most characters involved, and having a sword that LITERALLY feeds off of evil energies, Yoshimitsu gets as much attention as a wet blanket. Again.
Yeah, she's alive don't worry along with Claudio I'm thinking those two are working together now since Claudio is betrayed by his fellow Sirius Marksmen
And it made sense too cuz by the end of it both were back to their normal human forms, no more devil tricks, just man to man, just like it was in tekken 3.
THIS WAS A GOOD ONE! Here are some sub plots they missed to explore: - Lee vs Nina interaction on her G Corp Switch - Asuka helping Jin relearn the Kazama Style and actually be at at the yakushima part of the story than being Lili's poodle - Showing Master Raven together with Raven and Victor in the war (at least) And some potential relationship they could have explored to make other staples relevant: - Bryan being at GCorp's Side (since he has this cyborg connection with the Jacks) (And he and Dragunov are bffs in TTT2 which is not cannon) - Yoshi being a protector of Yakushima and interacts with the group that arrives there (and then the Bryan x Yoshi commences) - Shaheen x Zafina connection by safeguarding her and sacrificed for her because he is a bland character. Haha - Showing how Dragunov handles the G Corp Infirmary (as seen in his love for it in his own story ending) and leading the war with Nina
Man I’m so happy Zafina is alive. My main. She was seen in the photo at the end credits WITHOUT her azazel arm so obviously after the war. She clearly just fainted 😍 thank god she’s alive.
Really like how they handled the big battles with all the characters using elements from T6. What I love about Tekken compared to MK is that each chapter is like a book, not focusing on one person but multiples
Overall the story was fun and Exciting. And the Fighting mechanics is top level. Also the fact that Jin becomes a angel and kazuya becomes a demon might hint that the battle between the kazama clan (angels) vs the Hachijio clan (devils) might take place in the future tekken. The Mishimas will play major role as well but this time they will shield humanity from the clashes between good and evil. The leader of the kazamas (angels) might be jun or Asuka and the leader of the hachijio (devils) might be reina (if she isn't killed in tekken9) or someone else from the clan. I would love this to happen if Namco and harada decide to do it. It will be the greatest battle in tekken

I guess because Kazuya vs Heihachi had been built since Tekken 1. Meanwhile, Jin vs Kazuya had been built since Tekken 5 at earliest probably, and they didn't build "Jin vs Kazuya" narrative as much as "Kazuya vs Heihachi"

Kaz vs Hei had its fair share of anime over the top moments but was mostly martial arts, hard blows and pain. The flashbacks added a lot of drama to it too. This kaz vs jin.... i' dunno man, it comes off so forced i just couldn't enjoy.

I wish they hadn't the Reina inner monologues. Like yeah, we all kinda knew she was going to be bad or at least a neutral party like Akuma, but seeing her alongside the good guys in the trailer seemed to throw off some people into thinking she was good. The end reveal isn't surprising because she seemed to know all about the devils and it was obvious she was related to Heihachi, so revealing she's evil is pointless at that point
The inner monologue explains why she's tagging with the good guys. The reveal was about her being Heihachi's daughter not being evil, yes that's still already obvious though. Even if she's evil her plan still needs to be shown about wanting to obtain Devil Gene.

The Way Jin overcame his Devil and used the power for good use is so beautiful! The transformation of the Black & White Devil which represents the combo of positive power(Kazama) and Negative power(devil/mishima) was soo damn awesome! And the most awaited True Devil form of Jin turns out to be ANGEL JIN Gives me goosebumps!! (The Golden theme was Beautiful tho~ 🥺✨) JIN KAZAMA Our Destiny's Child finally proved himself!! I feel so proud 🤧 This season of Tekken is really legendary! The Character Development and Interactions were great! Full of humor, emotions, motivation and what not! The person that showed up next to unconscious Kazuya is definitely Jun, but whether or not that means they are both dead or both alive I'm not certain. It would seem somewhat questionable for Jin to actually kill Kazuya after his whole character arc of transcending the Mishima cycle of vengeance though, so I am leaning towards both alive.
That's true even with little screen time some of them got they still get a chance to shine. Even Shaheen who people think of him as bland and unimportant yet has stakes for this war.
@himitsu30007 if he's alive he would've been in that battle with Lee and the others, he was the only one that wasn't there. So basically he was the only fighter that died, and also when devil Kazuya showed up to the battle and fired his big beam, idk if he killed another fighter, but I did saw one of Lee's army members got hit with it. Reina did too, but she did that so she can bring out her devil. Thank God Lars and xiaoyu is still alive
@urielmedina1380 there's hints at a tekken 9, with reina's devil awakening, and Jun approaching Kazuyas body at the end, likely that will be the final tekken.
JIN's Angelic Form looks DIVINE. Also, REINA is set up to be the next main villain for T9. Now, that leaves us with JUN's Unknown as the final big bad that we will have to wait for at least another 15 years come T10 as a fitting end to this amazing saga. Thank you, Katsuhiro Harada!

The whole war scenario of these 3 last Tekken games fit Bryan perfectly....and they never used him.

THIS WAS A GOOD ONE!
Here are some sub plots they missed to explore:
- Lee vs Nina interaction on her G Corp Switch
- Asuka helping Jin relearn the Kazama Style and actually be at at the yakushima part of the story than being Lili's poodle
- Showing Master Raven together with Raven and Victor in the war (at least)
And some potential relationship they could have explored to make other staples relevant:
- Bryan being at GCorp's Side (since he has this cyborg connection with the Jacks) (And he and Dragunov are bffs in TTT2 which is not cannon)
- Yoshi being a protector of Yakushima and interacts with the group that arrives there (and then the Bryan x Yoshi commences)
- Shaheen x Zafina connection by safeguarding her and sacrificed for her because he is a bland character. Haha
- Showing how Dragunov handles the G Corp Infirmary (as seen in his love for it in his own story ending) and leading the war with Nina

Man I’m so happy Zafina is alive. My main. She was seen in the photo at the end credits WITHOUT her azazel arm so obviously after the war. She clearly just fainted 😍 thank god she’s alive.
Really like how they handled the big battles with all the characters using elements from T6. What I love about Tekken compared to MK is that each chapter is like a book, not focusing on one person but multiples

Overall the story was fun and Exciting. And the Fighting mechanics is top level. Also the fact that Jin becomes a angel and kazuya becomes a demon might hint that the battle between the kazama clan (angels) vs the Hachijio clan (devils) might take place in the future tekken. The Mishimas will play major role as well but this time they will shield humanity from the clashes between good and evil. The leader of the kazamas (angels) might be jun or Asuka and the leader of the hachijio (devils) might be reina (if she isn't killed in tekken9) or someone else from the clan. I would love this to happen if Namco and harada decide to do it. It will be the greatest battle in tekken

Kaz vs Hei had its fair share of anime over the top moments but was mostly martial arts, hard blows and pain. The flashbacks added a lot of drama to it too. This kaz vs jin.... i' dunno man, it comes off so forced i just couldn't enjoy.

jin vs kaz was basically the end of jojo part 2 with them being launched into space, but both looking like saint seiya characters means very little since they do all this flying and laser stuff but then in the gameplay they are just reskins

I wish they hadn't the Reina inner monologues. Like yeah, we all kinda knew she was going to be bad or at least a neutral party like Akuma, but seeing her alongside the good guys in the trailer seemed to throw off some people into thinking she was good. The end reveal isn't surprising because she seemed to know all about the devils and it was obvious she was related to Heihachi, so revealing she's evil is pointless at that point
The inner monologue explains why she's tagging with the good guys. The reveal was about her being Heihachi's daughter not being evil, yes that's still already obvious though. Even if she's evil her plan still needs to be shown about wanting to obtain Devil Gene.

The person that showed up next to unconscious Kazuya is definitely Jun, but whether or not that means they are both dead or both alive I'm not certain. It would seem somewhat questionable for Jin to actually kill Kazuya after his whole character arc of transcending the Mishima cycle of vengeance though, so I am leaning towards both alive.

That's true even with little screen time some of them got they still get a chance to shine. Even Shaheen who people think of him as bland and unimportant yet has stakes for this war.

@himitsu30007 if he's alive he would've been in that battle with Lee and the others, he was the only one that wasn't there. So basically he was the only fighter that died, and also when devil Kazuya showed up to the battle and fired his big beam, idk if he killed another fighter, but I did saw one of Lee's army members got hit with it. Reina did too, but she did that so she can bring out her devil. Thank God Lars and xiaoyu is still alive

JIN's Angelic Form looks DIVINE. Also, REINA is set up to be the next main villain for T9. Now, that leaves us with JUN's Unknown as the final big bad that we will have to wait for at least another 15 years come T10 as a fitting end to this amazing saga. Thank you, Katsuhiro Harada!
Jun was in a coma for 7 years so Unknown is not canon.
