All JL's videos or videos with JL always have thousands of views in a couple of hours. This is not about filos pride anymore, just look at this boy, he's full of talent!
IMO, what sets JL apart from all of the other contestants are: 1) He looks like he is performing on stage and not for judges. He looks comfortable and like he is enjoying the stage. 2) Facial Expressions. I notice it with a lot of Filipino performers, esp dance crews, where they have very expressive facial expressions. Sorry to a lot of the contestants but there are some top picks who has only one facial expression and stage presence. 3) Stability. Not only did his voice not struggle but also his dance. There are a lot of contestants that you see their energy dropping, esp when they are not on focus. But him, it is constant. Not too powerful but not lazy... Energetic with a sense of ease. He also is not messy with his movements and not wasting energy with overly huge but unnecessary movements. 4) Versatility. I don't see any other contestant who can pull off many concepts as he can. He can do hard or soft or cute concepts... helps that he has a wide range of facial expressions... He has that look and versatility that can go any way... He doesn't have that intense look but can be intense and he doesn't have a soft look but can be soft. Also, he has one of the more fluid body movements among the contestants that help.. there are some stiff contestants that I also see as top picks for some people that has me shaking my head. Also, nothing about this performance but I don't get the votes who go to the good looking contestants but lack in skills. Like what?

Aside from having a very expressive and fun performance with stable, refreshing, and bright vocals, what set JL apart from other contestants are his dynamics in dancing, and gracefulness. He knew where to put his energy appropriately in his dance, making it very engaging and not boring. I also noticed this in the signal song, where everyone was just throwing their energy while JL knew where to hold back and where to go full-energy, in my opinion. i just now understand what his fellow player and director Kun's comment that he was flirting on the stage. he definitely commands attention specially if you have add on good voice to back it up. you just naturally drawn to him. he embodies the lyrics of the song and its flirtiness. i want now to see him more on other genre. good luck JL.

Please watch the SBS video. We need to make sure that the concepts JL participates in are also popular.
