Just missed this band at the duck room , very upset that I didnt get to see them hope they come back through soon. This is my current fave cut right now.
I remember seeing them live in Montreal a couple years back. I was fortunate(or should I say we) enough to be in an audience of maybe 30 people. The band was solid;Jennifer Clavin was electric and engaging...she's a performer all right.
When I eventually learn to drive (Which won't be anytime soon considering I'm 19 and don't know how to drive) I'm going to a desert and blasting this. Holy shit this is awesome.
i think many of the indie bands that were playing grunge influenced sounds are now going back to the 80's...its so weird. i see it happening right before my eyes...all the shows i go to and all the music i buy. sounds keep changing. but the more things change the more they stay the same.
@@robram2025 i dont get these bands..some of them my favorites..i wont mention who...they had a grungy power pop sound and then they go to synth pop? wtf. sure..sell more records and alienate your die hard fans...its pretty depressing for me.
@@miked4309 It's the same as the Paramore sound change and all the other bands who wear pirate pants and play 80's analog synthesizers. Maybe because I grew up in the 80's its easier for me to embrace the 80's New Wave sound. But I hear you. I'm a guitar player and love that power chord pop punk, indie rock guitar sound. Having said that, as a band you can't play the same sound just because that's where you started as a band. I met the kid from The Drums holding a Prophet 5 keyboard and had no fucking idea who he was. He's on a headlining tour playing sold-out gigs all over the world. Most of the indie pop-rock bands around LA are stuck doing the same lame ass club/bar tours DIY with marginal results. So yes you're right. Having an 80's analog sound that's a little groovy definitely helps your chances to make some $$ on the road. Otherwise, you can play in front of a smelly poser millennial audience at the Echoplex and make no cash whatsoever. 🤣😂
That bassline is D I R T Y
Song of the year. Unbelievably amazing. I discovered it a week ago and played it at least 500 times .
Literally just discovered this song.
Why has it taken this long!?
🔥
This is like something that would like come on while watching MTV at like 3 in the morning in 1982.
I can't believe you wrote exactly what I was thinking!
YAY!!!!!!!!!!!
I'd say mid 70s. Its retro even by 80s standard xD
Btw '3 in the morning' i like the way you really narrowed it down 😂
Exactly. And we'd probably talk about them today like we do with bands like The Buggles, Haircut 100 and The Flirts.
I can't believe it's been 5 years already, and my love for this song hasn't faded in the slightest.
Same hotel featured in Father John Misty's "Mr. Tillman"
Just discovered this song. Killer bass line!❤🎸
I saw y’all at the concert in Kansas and I completely fell in love with song and you guys as a group!! I love your style, it’s so unique!!
Patton Oswalt's new Netflix special brought me here!
Just missed this band at the duck room , very upset that I didnt get to see them hope they come back through soon. This is my current fave cut right now.
I’m a big time metal head, but this is one of the best songs I’ve ever heard.

This should definitely come back in style. I like the direction they are going in.
It's called the 1980s
