Proud of the NZ boys for just playing well. I know a lot of Americans here but NZ is a tiny country and basketball is still a growing sport here. We all want Steven adams to play for us I hope he does sometime before he retires.

NZ had a good start but couldn't keep it up. A gutsy performance anyway - a good tough game to prepare them for the other games.
Well done to USA!
All this team shows us is that the NBA is in GREAT hands. People clowned this roster just cuz it was a bunch of young guys. But people gotta remember that these young guys are the number 1's and number 2's of their own teams. Its sad to see the players of our childhoods getring old, but DAMN am i excited for the future

what's more interesting is that some who clowned it are the ones who now appreciate it more 😅
This was a great game for a young US squad. Slow start but dominant win demonstrate the grit and the gas, sub par games from Edwards and Brunson but they still contributed while Banchero had himself a night! Turnovers are still a problem and defensive discipline could be better but most fundamentals are solid and this team seems to mesh well. 27 point win over New Zealand is well within expectations. Not a flashy start, but a solid one.
Banchero has that Melo/Mike Beasley typa game. His skill set will thrive in FIBA

They stood strong today despite the slow start. Paolo Banchero was great today, Austin Reeves also played himself a nice game. Anthony Edwards has another good game. I realize this is not the best of the best as far as Team USA is concerned but I think it's really cool to see the "Next" Generation step up and grow. They have been total class so far and I like the way they play team basketball. GO USA!
Edwards struggled with his handles, kept losing control of the ball. Not a good game for him. Missed all his 3s and a bunch of fts too

@@nydibs Steve Kerr is putting a lot on his plate and is underutilizing Ingram. Who just goes stands in a corner. This wont work against the better teams and almost didnt work against Germany.

Good result for NZ, would've been closer if they had been able to sustain that pressure after a good start. USA good young talent but lucky Steven Adams wasn't playing, he would've made a difference in the paint and rim protection.

A good game of basketball. I am surprised with the New Zealand team. They played a great game of basketball. USA played well to win.
Our USA has a really really solid lineup, I just think they need at least one or two vets that has been playing at the international stage or from the last gold medal team of Tokyo 2020
They have Lucky to another teams like Serbia is not full lineup and miss good players.

@@papatalkmall21 I had seen a few years ago that the NZ players didn't want Steven Adams and the NZ team didn't see eye to eye something about him being an NBA star and they didn't want him to change the game style we have here... Idk if it's true but this was about 2020 or maybe earlier
@@papatalkmall21 He has an issue with how the talent for overseas tournaments is picked in NZ, and quite rightly so. There's not enough money in the programs so often only those whose families can actually afford for their children to travel (almost always overseas on long flights). He talks about it in his book, but when Steve was growing up he saw a lot of talented kids not be able to go to tournaments and be seen/get scholarships because their families couldn't afford fees for these overseas tournaments.
