The internet went crazy because of the buildup. Most of Dream's friends and associates posted videos of them reacting to a facetime call with him, and they deliberately overreacted. So when the final video came out and we saw he's just a normal dude, people felt cheated. As someone who rarely follows Dream, I agree with Weegee entirely.
Everyone is freaking out because a picture was leaked of him a while back that actually ended up coming true. The picture was from his younger years where he had much more weight, but he’s skinnier now in comparison.
