My very best wishes with your proposals. I've suffered the DWP since 1998. I in 2019 studied all the DWP Guidelines for PIP assessors. I was struck by how it does cater to eligibility for complex medical conditions ... yet, the assessors don't appear to be acting employing the same breadth of guidelines. The critical subtlety is absent. The ignorance behind assessor decisions is appalling and very disturbing. They should never be entrusted with attempting to formulate intricate 'Informal Observations'. Of the latter part of the assessment process, I suspect a computer software package assembles most of the text by tagging paragraphs to keywords and phrases in the Activity Component entries. Though more diligent assessors may type extra data to refine the automation. I studied my assessors. None of them had even a quarter of the time to type pages of Informal Observations, yet they all claim the report is 'complete' and immediately on route to the DWP. This appears to be a scandal in itself if I'm correct? Thank you.
I'm wondering what your take would be on individuals who might receive your income and choose to live a life without working. Is this something that you would be okay with.. I know for myself personally..that kind of money would ensure all my bills and food were taken care of to the point I wouldn't need any extra income.
I would clarify, IF and when you QUALIFY for the Benefits via a DWP assessment, which is subject to periodical reviews, then the GDI is implemented; a safety net for when ill health, low pay, and unemployment occurs; not to be misconstrued as a 'life style' of perpetual bliss!! The PLAN doesn't advocate for the abolition of the controls already in place; rather, it calls for a ' light touch' approach to the assessment process, instead of the current draconian methods of implied vilification, as documented.
