These highlights have been great for planning my Japan trip. The one thing that I absolutely want to do is bike the Shimanami Kaido, but I've been using your guys' advice to add things to do besides that!
2:17 "F*ck Off" would actually be the perfect name for a retail store selling doujinshi & R-18 goods lmao, someone pitch that idea to the folks who own the "_____ Off" stores.
My friend and I always enjoyed going to Guts' Soul when we were in the Tokyo area. It's a chain of yakiniku restaurants and they offer tabehoudai and nomihoudai. Only thing I wouldn't do again is do that on the night before we flew back. Both of us were incredibly hung over while boarding the plane...
Nomihoudai and karaoke are fun as hell! Just make sure you're not staying at a capsule hotel that night since they have early check out times. They will provide extra towls if you puke in the capsule though.
I remember this one I went to once where one of my friends booked a separate room for karaoke, I don't really remember the night but I thought it was good
Almost all of the Karaoke I've done (America) has been in a private room, but I did go to a tiki bar once where there was an open floor and the karaoke was done in front of everyone in the bar.
"I prefer going to a cool area and discovering stuff for myself" THIS! A MILLION TIMES THIS! THAT'S WHY PRACTICALLY NO ONE OPTED FOR THE JAPAN GUIDED TOURS!
I would like to think everybody already knows that karaoke is one of the most fun things you can do especially in japan but hey I guess it depends on how good a singer you are
I’ve been to Japan twice when I was younger and loved it! I’m in my 20’s now but have a few visible tattoos such as a sleeve with fingers. Will this be too much of an issue nowadays? It’s got me a bit worried but I love the country too much to just not go again
Yea some bath houses have a no tattoo policy but a foreigner with a sleeve is quite common place nowadays that outside of that you'll have no issues elsewhere

Just thought of "Rip Off", "Jack Off", and "Piss Off"
"Where'd you buy that one classic doujin? The art was really good."
(in a bright cheery tone) "Oh, from F*ck Off!"
That thumbnail of people playing Gundam extreme had me quaking
I hope I'm not the only one who thinks of Yakuza when they hear about karaoke.
It's such a memorable part of that franchise
Everytime I visit a random place that I think seems cool, there's only a 10% chance I find it dope

Bro, no... Gamecube is not retro, right? It's only... 20 years old.
It's ok, just learn to accept it. I did when people started calling the Megadrive retro. 20 years is definitely enough time to become retro.
@@luketfer They do say the first step is acceptance.
Yeah and I was browsing Netflix when I saw Code Geass under retro tv
👴
20 years is a quarter of your life if your presuming you're gonna live to 80. That's a long fucking time, my man.
Hitachino has a nice Distillery and decent food at the edge of Akihabara. Also you can fing Yushakobo a very nice mechanical keyboard shop there.
Drunk karaoke with the boys 🔥🤘🔥

Wasn't Nakano Broadway in Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth?
Asians here. What type of karaokes do you have at the West? The only karaoke that I know is the one described by the boys =/
basically, imagine an open bar where you have a stage at the back with a mic. Like the bar in yakuza but 3 times bigger.

It's really not that common, but usually it's in a large hall where everyone can have a go
You go up in a stage and sing in front of strangers at a bar
I followed the neon signs and ended in a soapland... Not a karaoke or Pachinko place...

I WANT GARNT'S DEMIN JACKET SO BAD HAHA
Karaoke in my part of Asia has bikini-clad women on a beach regardless what song is playing. Or clips from the NBA. LOL

From my understanding that tattoos are becoming more popular with the youth but there are still some stereotypes and you can't use bathhouses
