It's not a huge logical leap to say "hey you might want to talk to defendant's daughter (and friends) because I'm fairly sure I saw them playing around your car earlier."
Her questions are legitimate. The witness should’ve have seen those exact girls doing the exact damage the plaintiff claims they did. I don’t understand why you’re bothered.

She herself has told litigants before that the burden of proof required in her "Courtroom" is less than in an actual court. That's one of the reasons shows like this exist; for cases which would be too difficult to prove in a normal court. Here, you just have to convince Judy, and she says often that her "life experience" has taught her what things are likely true and what things are likely fibs, so let's not pretend that these cases rely solely on law and not on Judy's common sense and judgement as well.

So three OTHER little girls blew into the neighborhood and decided to scratch up a car right next to the house where the 3 little girls of the same exact height/weight/hair live? He may not have clearly seen their exact facial features--but come on, you can tell who a person is by their height/age and weight, etc. If there was another group of 3 little girls in another nearby house(with the EXACT same description), I could understand not making the stretch. I don't think that is the case though. You can positively identify someone without being close enough to see "the whites of their eyes".

People need to learn it’s ok to admit you don’t know everything. The witness would have been better off saying that, yes, he was putting two and two together that there were little girls playing around the car, the car was damaged, and the other neighbor also has two little girls, but ultimately it’s true that he had not fully recognized their faces. Then the judge could come to her own conclusion later with the addition of the defendants testimony of whether the witness, combined with whatever other evidence, is credible in favor of whomever. Instead, all his backtracking and trying to figure out what the judge might want to hear to make the defendant look guilty, made him seem like he didn’t really know what he was talking about.
I haven’t watched the rest of this parts to this case, but I think what the witness to the plaintiff meant was he couldn’t see their faces as in he could tell which of the two girls were leaning against the car; not that he couldn’t see who they were, period. Also, he looks like he’s holding back trying to say the REAL reason why it had to be those girls 🙄
