In this weeks video, I take a road trip out to Colorado to pick up a very large piece of photographic equipment. I also announce an upcoming playlist on my channel, "The Darkroom Build".

So far the darkroom has good ventilation - but seriously... Looking forward to the construction as well as your photography videos.
haha! VERY good ventilation. Thanks for the Generosity, Randy. That's going to help out 👍
Envy on all counts. It will be a delight to watch all that come together.
Haha! Don't be too envious, there's a lot of hard work ahead. Thanks for following along.
So cool! Looking forward to the darkroom building videos. Warm greetings from Switzerland!
What an amazing channel Shane! Really enjoyed watching your process and experiences. Soon I'll be sharing some landscape photography channels around the world in my channel and blog and yours is on the list. thanks for sharing this content. Will let you know when I do. Congratulations
Thank you! I really appreciate it. Looking forward to watching your videos.
Awesome! That's a serious piece of equipment. Anxious to see the building of the darkroom.
Thank you! It should be a fun 😁
When you said 16-foot trailer I immediately knew it was gonna be an enlarger :D Really looking forward to seeing you document the darkroom build.
Haha! Nice. Hopefully it all goes smoothly.
That's awesome, good luck
I want to see the work on the darkroom, stunning video!!!
Thanks! It’s getting close to being done.
That’s dedication, can’t wait to see the results!
That is probably the best enlarger ever made. I had a chance for a free one myself several years ago but it was too tall for my darkroom. Don't think you'll have that problem. Looking forward to the darkroom build. My only recommendation is that if you can build it a little bigger I would. I don't think I've ever been a darkroom where I thought I had too much room.
Thanks for recommendation. I wish I could build it larger, but there’s a few factors making 10x16’ the largest I can build. I think it will get the job done and be a cozy space.
Super excited to see the darkroom build. Love your work!
Have a lot of fun with the construction👍
Thank you! I’m looking forward to it 😁
Can’t wait to see the progress, I’m sure it’ll be fascinating.
Very exciting, I'm looking forward to the new series! Seb
Thanks!
Hi Shane thanks for the trip you shared with us, once again really enjoyed it, did think at the start of the video the trailer was a bit of an over kill until I sure how big the enlarger is, wow. Really looking forward to the darkroom build, cheers mate from down under 🇦🇺.
Hi Brendan. Thank you! It was a fun trip. Yeah, It's massive. I wasn't expecting to find something that large, but I'm glad to have it now.
Looking forward to seeing the planning and building of your darkroom.
It should be a good time 😁
Great video! Cant wait to see the 8X10 enlarger in action!!
Me too!
@@shanedignum I have to say, I am super envious, I have wanted one of these for a long time :) but I am happy to see you secure one as well :) I think Beseler still makes the 4x5 versions, which is what I use currently, but I have a feeling these are not available new anymore, are they! :)
@@ArpanPatnaik This is my 2nd 8x10 enlarger. I was forced to sell one 6 years ago when moving into a smaller space. I've been looking to replace it ever since. They are difficult to find!
Hi Shane ! Good luck !!!
Thanks, Evgeny!
I thought Enlarger or drumscanner as you said "…i get some photo equipment with that big trailer…" ;)
BTW do you scan your 8x10 by yourself? What kind of scanner you use?
A great idea to fit the darkroom around the enlarger. Give it a solid and heavy concrete foundation. You do not want shaking by passing traffic near your darkroom…
Thanks! Yeah, the trailer is nice to have. Every photo you see in the videos is scanned with my Epson V850.
@@shanedignum that's a good scanner Shane I have the older v750
That's quite the luxury, being able to build a darkroom from scratch around an enlarger. It'll be interesting to see what you come up with. I'm curious: you're only shooting color film, are you planning on making color prints, or are you planning to branch out to b&w prints as well? Like your license plate, btw. F64 was already taken, lol?
I agree! I do shoot B&W film, it’s just not something I have online. I have a couple of projects I want to start. They will be silver gelatin and PT/PD prints. It would be fun to try printing color with the enlarger, but it’s not something I’m too familiar with.
@@shanedignum From personal experience I can say that color print darkroom work is no fun. Very exacting parameters, can't see, no creative input. Better left to pro labs. B&W, on the other hand, is a whole world of creative work. Like Ansel Adams said something about the negative being the score and the print being the performance. Paraphrasing badly.
I hope you read your comments, but can give me the brand name of your tri-pod and the head featured in this video please. Thanks
What year is your car? The thing is a beauty
Thanks. It’s a 2003 G500.
Looks like that trailer tongue has hit F45 at least once.
Haha! Yes. Sometimes the license plate gets used as a back up sensor.
video and edit by one person?
Shane~yo, fatnastic done, 😲
