There has just opened the 'Make Cornwall Islamic centre and mosque' (see their website). It has been build in an old village school, right in the heart of that beautiful County. They are promising to be very active and vocal 'community leaders'. That they say, they are there simple to 'educate and infirm, local Cornish, about the wonderful peace loving Islamic faith. Some key verses: 9:5 “When the forbidden months are passed, then fight and slay the pagans wherever you find them, and seize them and beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them with every stratagem of war.” 9: 29 “Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the last day, nor hold forbidden what has been forbidden by Allah and his messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of the truth…” Surah 47:4 says, “So when you meet the disbelievers, strike their necks until you have thoroughly subdued them, then bind them firmly. 5:33. “The punishment for those who wage war against Allah and his messenger, and strive with might and main for mischief throughout the land is crucifixion, or the cutting off of hands and feet from the opposite sides, or exile from the land; that is their disgrace in this world, and a heavy punishment is theirs in the hereafter.” ISIS is not a fringe group. They just follow the Quran.

This happened in Byzantium and the near East when muslims invaded Christian lands. Also, former churches built in the 19th C (not middle age or ancient ones which are protected from development), are often turned into residential property or cafes, pubs and restaurants, which serve the wider community. We have a former19th C Methodist church, deconsecrated, called in our indigenous language 'Chapel an Gansdblydhen', or 'Centenary Chapel' in English, now a Wetherspoon pub. Methodists not happy at that. So depends on whom you ask for an opinion, no right or wrong answer.

Should islam even be given protection as a religion? It is not a religion if it makes demands and requirements of non-believers (eg. "Treat my, ok your, book nicely because i believe it is holy even if you don't"). That is what makes it a political ideology cloaked in a religion.

Absolutely spot on. It's always political until they need appeasement in order to gain more power, then they switch to it being religion to disarm people and further their cause. Its like a tug of war where they make sure you (or we allow) wear flat soles while they have spikes. Once that ground is given up, it is never to be relinquished. GIVING them ground and ultimately more power, considering their resentment of the west, can only end in regret and consequences down the line.

There has just opened the 'Make Cornwall Islamic centre and mosque' (see their website). It has been build in an old village school, right in the heart of that beautiful County. They are promising to be very active and vocal 'community leaders'. That they say, they are there simple to 'educate and infirm, local Cornish, about the wonderful peace loving Islamic faith. Labour wants to court Muslim voters before the emergence of a credible Islamic Party, which sooner or later is certain to happen. Political Islam relies on numbers, and the demographics suggest that the inception of such a party will put Labour out of business in a heartbeat.

It is very hard for someone with only a superficial knowledge of Islam to believe that Islam is not just another religion like Christianity. There is a belief that somehow the Quran is much the same as the Bible. However, the Quran nowhere teaches that we should love our neighbour, or even less our enemies. Instead it clearly teaches that it is right to fight against the unbelievers.
The whole of Surah 9 is an encouragement to go to war. Some key verses:
9:5 “When the forbidden months are passed, then fight and slay the pagans wherever you find them, and seize them and beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them with every stratagem of war.”
9: 29 “Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the last day, nor hold forbidden what has been forbidden by Allah and his messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of the truth…”
Surah 47:4 says, “So when you meet the disbelievers, strike their necks until you have thoroughly subdued them, then bind them firmly.
5:33. “The punishment for those who wage war against Allah and his messenger, and strive with might and main for mischief throughout the land is crucifixion, or the cutting off of hands and feet from the opposite sides, or exile from the land; that is their disgrace in this world, and a heavy punishment is theirs in the hereafter.”
ISIS is not a fringe group. They just follow the Quran.
