In the middle of a math test, i excused myself to go to the bathroom and was watching your video's off my iphone. You helped me pass my exam with a 96%. Thanks a lot Sal
omg thnk you soo much! My teacher will not for nothing in the world correctly teach us this. Now i will ace this test. U've made it so clear on how to work it step by step. TAHNX AGAIN SOO MUCH!!
Bro, I practice this stuff like routinely and its steered me right and clear so far in my freshman year at college so far but I got to say, your teaching skills are amazing. This will save me a lot of effort wearing myself out for the last test and exam if I watch your vids. Your great and I thank you for what you do. It does people good.
My professor was explaining this to me in my native language and I didn't understand a word of it.. Now I understand you even though you speak in English..
Thanks a lot. I hate sitting in class. It's so boring and sometimes I give up so easily because when people get better marks than me during practice exams it's like "Yup that guys so gonna top our class and the teacher has more faith in him than any of us who failed" kind of stuff that I hear from other people but I think I finally realised that it's not about proving anything to anyone, it's about proving yourself that you can do it. =)
Wow professor or sir you ar good I am a mathematics major and need help too on the absolute value and inequalities at university level please make much more vids to help people like me you real good when my lecturer did this I did not understand at all :(( It left me depressed and youtube was my last hope and walla was able to get it really good and explained thoroughly and I am a junior teacher you did this real good trust me looking out for more now of course at university level okay please!!!
@DrPsymotion Though it is true that you generally cannot say that a complex number is "more" or "less" than another number, what I am saying is that when you double one of the complex numbers, you get the other; that's not comparing, that's multiplying by the real number 2 (which in turn is the same as multiplying the real and imaginary parts by this number). And by the way, I think the term you're looking for is the absolute value of a number.
School is just a way to make money and manipulate the young minds. Math lessons take, like in this video, 20 minutes tops depending on the subject. What we have, everywhere today, are bad teachers, who can't communicate with the students, or can't make the students interested on the subject. The students watching these videos are the future of the world, and that's a good thing.
Thanks man ... It's 1:17 am now and I am on the verge of pulling an all-nighter 'coz I have math exam tomorrow, and as usual, I know nothing of algebra, and I'm tired of failing every semester ... But these videos on Complex numbers (and your trig vids) saved me, really .. I guess I'll be able to sleep well now and am quite confident that I'll NOT fail this time lol xD Above all, I got to understand what math really is about, and I'm starting to get real interested in it. Greetings from India!
@DrPsymotion The definition of "twice" is that a number (be it complex or real) times 2 is a number which is twice as much, or, that the second number divided by the first, is 2. And if you multiply a complex number by two, you'd get both the real and imaginary part doubled. There is no reason why doubling a number only should apply to real numbers; in fact, since all real numbers are complex numbers too, you could do the same to these, although you'd get no imaginary part as you'd multiply 2*0i
Thank you very much! T_T This has always been my weakness (due to carelessness and mental blocks haha) You made us think of complex numbers as not too complex. I will surely pass the CETs!!!
It came out in 2008. 720p wasn't available on UA-cam until November of that year. Not sure why he didn't go 360p, however. It was a pretty new feature then.
7:32 When he said that 2+3i · 2-3i = 4 + 9 it simply isn't true. Binomial rule of (a+b)(a-b)=a^2-2ab-b^2. So in this case the actual answer would be 4-12i-9i^2. (please correct me if I'm wrong)
you are very amazing for doing these videos! they help me so much :] and you are a much better teacher than my math teacher :D( not just cuz i can pause them but in general! no kidding. )
Wish i could find some help for the modulus and argument of complex numbers... Thanks for all the help, in one day you stopped me from failing my math exam tomorrow :D
super cool :) i like you ;-) and i heard of this stuff and read on wikipedia about it, but i never really understood anything, so thanks for uploading this ;]
@lacsapix Well, it should be quite obvious why when you look closely: 8 is twice as much as 4, and -6 is twice as much as -3, therefore 8-6i must be twice as much as 4-3i.
@frxstrem true true (absolute value right thx) . and your point on the x2? what do you mean?i stil dont get how a complex number could be twice as much as another
I can't find part 3, I found one named IIT JEE complex numbers part 3 but it has skipped loads of steps and it's dated 3 years later! :( Great help with this video though thank you!
I think that the real reason that people think they learn more from this than they do in school is because they do this on their own accord and it isnt scheduled. im pretty sure that most people that watch this video weren't scheduled anyway.
Just because you have that problem does not mean that your all mental and all that. It's kind of a sign that you easily get distracted but still if you can understant the lecturer properly then that's ok =)
Thanks so much for this video, your a great teacher! Just after 4minutes and 30 seconds into this video I got Beady Squared Eyes. (BDi^2, get it? ;)) Just kidding, but thanks alot, you're a good person :)
@frxstrem no dude there is no comparison of complex numbers you can only compare their |X+Yi| lenght module or whatever it called on english there is no Z1>Z2 never fatal mistake only |Z1|>|Z2|
Content++ Presentation-- Why the hell don't they get some decent software so that we don't have to look at menu drop downs that take two clicks to get a new board? And why the hell use a mouse? Give the guy a touch sensitive monitor and a stylus for god's sake...
you are amazing, god bless you. my teacher is terrible and i had no clue what was going on, until i watched these complex number videos
Infinity is eternally fasnating we creature,s are lowly finites.
In the middle of a math test, i excused myself to go to the bathroom and was watching your video's off my iphone. You helped me pass my exam with a 96%.
Thanks a lot Sal
Voice 😄 and the explaination is so good. I might as well fall in love wt the teacher as much as I am in love wt maths 🤣
I am always falling asleep during these lectures, real help finding this on youtube!
I really love it! I cannot understand what my Prof teach in the class, but I can understand Khan.
omg thnk you soo much! My teacher will not for nothing in the world correctly teach us this. Now i will ace this test. U've made it so clear on how to work it step by step. TAHNX AGAIN SOO MUCH!!

Your voice is very soothing. I think I was in a trance for the past 9 minutes
Just started working on "i" today in math class. This video made it a bit easier for me to understand, thanks for the great work on the videos.
My professor was explaining this to me in my native language and I didn't understand a word of it.. Now I understand you even though you speak in English..
You're a pretty darn ahead eleven year old. I'm 17 and learning this stuff in advanced program maths.
Thanks a lot. I hate sitting in class. It's so boring and sometimes I give up so easily because when people get better marks than me during practice exams it's like
"Yup that guys so gonna top our class and the teacher has more faith in him than any of us who failed" kind of stuff that I hear from other people but I think I finally realised that it's not about proving anything to anyone, it's about proving yourself that you can do it. =)
you're voice is incredibly satisfying
Thanks, this video helped me refresh for my test tomorrow :) (The 240p tho)
Love these lessons, great teaching personality
I learnt more in these 10 minutes, than wat I have learned in a whole lesson in school...
he's great, but not even god could stop me from failing my exam
So did you fail ir pass?
Davide Cristiano
haha
don't let anyone stop u from not achieving your dreams, if u wanna fail man, THEN GO AND FAIL!
U CAN DO IT!!!
Wow that's a great way to set up yourself up to succeed. I'm glad God has blessed me to Ace my exam.
true
Very nicely explained! Thank you very much :)
Now if only everything we had to learn was available on UA-cam like this...
I'm just learning this because I find it super interesting :D You're an excellent teacher!
you are a great teacher. thanks alot for helping me.

what a great mathamatician thank u for amzing video
wow you sure are brilliant,i understood way better than my lecturer

This would be way easier to catch onto if you used numbers instead of vairable. But thank you, you made it soo much easier to understand.
Taking an Online class and this is a lifesaver
your video helped me perfect my quiz yesterday! thanks a lot!
7:32 When he said that 2+3i · 2-3i = 4 + 9 it simply isn't true. Binomial rule of (a+b)(a-b)=a^2-2ab-b^2. So in this case the actual answer would be 4-12i-9i^2.
(please correct me if I'm wrong)
Difference of squares sir.
(2+3i) · (2-3i) = 4 + 9
I love you guys, you make learning so much easier and fun.... and i also freaking love algebra :)
Seriously you are AWESOME
wow you are really good at teaching! thanks a lot! i'm going to pass my entrance exam for sure! :D
Best math teacher I've ever had. I also have a crush on your voice;)
You are really good at explaining this. Thank you. :)
awesome explanation dude
hey, can you make a playlist so it's easier to watch the videos in order. and thanks so much, it's really good of you to do this :)
thank you sooo much. I think my maths term paper next Wednesday won't be so hard after all. You're amazing:)
you are very amazing for doing these videos! they help me so much :] and you are a much better teacher than my math teacher :D( not just cuz i can pause them but in general! no kidding. )

super cool :) i like you ;-)
and i heard of this stuff and read on wikipedia about it, but i never really understood anything, so thanks for uploading this ;]
You inspire me God bless you
Thank you, that was really helpful.
OK very helpful. 5 stars. I thought the cursor was irritating but i got used to it eventually. Thank you
I got a huge exam tomorrow, thanks for the help
@lacsapix Well, it should be quite obvious why when you look closely: 8 is twice as much as 4, and -6 is twice as much as -3, therefore 8-6i must be twice as much as 4-3i.
I'm just 17 and way behind this but damn, this is fascinating! nice video!
very helpful, thank you!
and then satan said "put the alphabet in math"
That moment when you're just studying this for fun...
:( Great help with this video though thank you!
math exam tmr.. thank you for this video
You simplify it so much that it becomes kind of annoying, I want some action with math ..
But I thank you for your great job .
I think that the real reason that people think they learn more from this than they do in school is because they do this on their own accord and it isnt scheduled. im pretty sure that most people that watch this video weren't scheduled anyway.

not paying attention all year does pay off! haha, jk.... your the best, thanks a bunch man!
Damn I love this guy
Salar Gohar HA GAAAAYYYYY!
@DrPsymotion ....that was exactly my point....
Nice but do you have anything about the Argand Diagram?
It's kind of like rationalising suds (I think that's what the topic was called).
it is called rationalizing the denominator
I've learned so much today
very good video but i think using numbers instead of letters will help people to understand. Or that might just be me
MY MATH GRADES DEPENDS ON YOUR VIDEOS..!
Thanks,
i
Enjoyed it
if you were my teacher, i would pass my math exam tomorrow.
thank u ❤i like all yr. video
Thanks so much for this video, your a great teacher!
Just after 4minutes and 30 seconds into this video I got Beady Squared Eyes.
(BDi^2, get it? ;))
Just kidding, but thanks alot, you're a good person :)
that was helpful
Why does multiplying by the conjugate work?
@Rizmaestro i agree
when theres more letters than numbers i get confused
I learned them when I was ... i^4 + 17 :)
Superb sir
@duliptulip
you are correct
and i^30 = -1 and i^31 is -i
I tryed this one (8-6i)/(4-3i) it has an interesting anwser
thanks.. you help today
yummmy....
what about z= (9-j/1+5j) - (4/ 2-j)
question like that?
very helpful but i cant find part 3?
Actually, I learn more from khan academy than I have in my four years of high school.
I don't know what language my teacher talks that I couldn't learn this until now.
How comes when you did 2+3i*2+3i it wasn't 4+9-1 since i^2 is -1?
He did 2+3i*2-3i
@8anonomous8 i square= -1 so the sign in the D number is changed
@frxstrem no dude there is no comparison of complex numbers you can only compare their |X+Yi| lenght module or whatever it called on english there is no Z1>Z2 never fatal mistake only |Z1|>|Z2|
@MrBoy1020 You know i^4 = 1
therefore i^28 = 1
i^29 = i
..I think
Why is the final result 8/13 + 1/13 i and not 8/13 + i/13 ?
Can the sign for a conjugate also be a star (*) @khanacademy
Thanks!
Thank you very much
@sjdeforest I have a crush on his voice too!!! (:
Its in the algebra playlist
whats the next video that he is refering to?
Thanks Khan
a+bi/c+di = a/b + bi/di= a/b + b/d
why cant we solve like this
pls tel me it mite be a dumb question but pls give me som respond
Thankyou!
thanks khan i get it now
I couldn't find part 3 (continuation of this video) on you tube
Content++ Presentation-- Why the hell don't they get some decent software so that we don't have to look at menu drop downs that take two clicks to get a new board? And why the hell use a mouse? Give the guy a touch sensitive monitor and a stylus for god's sake...
Hugh S. Myers this video was uploaded in 2008
@@MBI8 and styluses were first made in 1957. Your point?
