I built a deck extremely similar to this deck a few days ago, I agree with you that Wildborn Preserver is an iffy card in this deck but I feel it holds it weight quite a bit being Flash and can grow. You are definitely right in the fact that the Voracious Hydra doesn't seem to be a great fit but I feel it suits its purpose as an early creature and removal card for the likes of Golgari adventures and Mono red. I ended up adding black for Rotting Regisaur, Knight of the Ebon Legion and Assassin's Trophy but it's no longer a great proliferate deck.
Vs cavalcade you could have also considered putting Vivien's counters onto the enemy creatures to stop it from triggering. Nice video anyway, as always! :)
The issue wasn't the butchers it was that he never drew a fourth land. If he had been blocking the butchers early at every point he would have ended up in just as much trouble due to only having access to 3 mana on turn 7. No way to win that game especially when his opening hand had 3 lands in it. Six draws with no lands is pretty brutal but sometimes that's just how Magic goes.
I was just noticing something things: The explanation for this deck took 10 minutes. That tells me alot about how much this deck is gonna run over the opponents, especially when you took into consideration the cat decks. In the ten minutes after this explanation, you stomp two games, and the only thing that prevented you from outright owning that third Cat Deck was land. That says alot about the potential of this deck in the current meta.
Here's hoping you'll find a way to fit Darksteel Reactor in a proliferate shell! I'm trying it with the Sage, Tatyova and the Swordtooth but I feel like it's too vulnerable.
Hey LVD! brilliant deck and video as usual. Speaking of which... I noticed that next to the Great Proliferate, is a deck named "Dances with Dragons". I follow your streams and as far as I can tell you never played this one online. What is it, please, please, please? Any chance it's good and you'll talk about it at some point? I do love huge flying thingies. Especially blue ones :D
I'm pretty new to magic, how do you figure out that splashing blue is worth it vs using Trollbred Guardian to give things trample? Drawing a card and Zegana costing one less is obviously better I suppose, but... Hm.
Your decks are great, and it seems like this one would be so much fun... but it just doesn't stack up well against the current meta from what I have seen. I played about 20 games with it to give it a fair shot but it was pretty consistently sitting at below a 25% win rate.
LVD, the gift that keeps on giving.
1:05 Imagine Yorvo using all his might and strength to hammer out a cat. That monster
No, the cat hopped into an oven first
"Nice one, ontoody next one"
love it!

The draws on the first two games were disgusting. Clutchest Nissa ever game 2. Cool deck Legen, seems like Zegana is worth the splash.
Very good on the overall review of the deck and editing the video with mentioned cards. Subscribed!
I appreciate you having a take on this great game mechanic.
Mama Zegana getting some love is such a Christmas surprise.
Love this deck! Green Stompy meets proliferate - cool 😎
Resilient and powerful, great deck!
This deck is gas!
damns you are pumping them put. I'll watch them after my exam.
Another fun deck! Thanks for these videos and your expertise/thought process. Bravo! - Maestro319
LOVE this deck! I wish I could straight up buy this bad boy
I think I made this exact same deck a while back, very cool
Vs cavalcade you could have also considered putting Vivien's counters onto the enemy creatures to stop it from triggering.
Nice video anyway, as always! :)
Pretty fun beatdown deck!
Another great deck and vid :)
Sharktocrab would be pretty good as well in this deck.
definitely one of my favorite draft bombs
I was pulling my hair out with how long he decided the let the dreadhorde butchers through.

especially that first game was so dirty :D
@@Caribbeanmax Oh Hell yeah! that first game was like... the only thing I could say was "I am so sorry!"
I hope you get to ultimate with Nissa while an Evolution Sage is on the battlefield.
i was hoping that too
This deck is actually pretty strong
Fuck yeah been waiting for a proliferate deck
For Simic, I’d like to add some hydroid Krasis
Here's hoping you'll find a way to fit Darksteel Reactor in a proliferate shell! I'm trying it with the Sage, Tatyova and the Swordtooth but I feel like it's too vulnerable.
Is Darksteel ever going to work when T3feri and Oko both counter it so well?
Have you considered using fired in conjunction with wildborn preserver. I think a gruul or temur fires deck exists out there
Sounds promising, although at the same time a bit of a nonbo as you lose out on Flash.

It's very close to the other Shimmer Dragon deck I played on stream.
@@LegenVD That would be Midnight Shimmer, then. Thank you :)
What would you play if you didnt want to play zegana?
Was there a particular reason to not play Karn's Bastion in this deck build?
Makes it impossible to cast Yorvo on curve.
I'm pretty new to magic, how do you figure out that splashing blue is worth it vs using Trollbred Guardian to give things trample? Drawing a card and Zegana costing one less is obviously better I suppose, but... Hm.
better is an understatement, drawing a card + costing one less is MORE than enough of a difference to make a card playable or unplayable
Cards that replace themselves are generally good. Everything else is a bonus.
Speaking of proliferate, I'd like to try this deck out
4 Brazen Borrower (ELD) 39
4 Breeding Pool (RNA) 246
4 Contentious Plan (WAR) 46
3 Fabled Passage (ELD) 244
4 Fae of Wishes (ELD) 44
2 Forest (ELD) 269
2 Garruk, Cursed Huntsman (ELD) 191
4 Gilded Goose (ELD) 160
4 Growth Spiral (RNA) 178
2 Hydroid Krasis (RNA) 183
3 Island (ELD) 257
3 Karn's Bastion (WAR) 248
3 Mystical Dispute (ELD) 58
2 Overgrown Tomb (GRN) 253
3 Rotting Regisaur (M20) 111
2 Swamp (ELD) 260
2 Temple of Mystery (M20) 255
4 Tomebound Lich (M20) 219
3 Watery Grave (GRN) 259
4 Aether Gust (M20) 42
4 Convolute (M20) 55

3 Quench (RNA) 48
1 Rotting Regisaur (M20) 111
Superior Technology convolute is pretty bad. Also regisaur can’t be wished up by the fae
do you have this decklist for import in mtga?
It's in the description.
Your decks are great, and it seems like this one would be so much fun... but it just doesn't stack up well against the current meta from what I have seen. I played about 20 games with it to give it a fair shot but it was pretty consistently sitting at below a 25% win rate.
Pollenbright druid maybe?
how comes you dont play gb hydra? (forgot the name lol)
Excuse me, where are Hydroid Krasi? You can replace Zegana with the troll that gives trample
There isnt much ramp beside Nissa , that troll is just an uncommen which doesnt replace itself, but would surely be efficient for more budgety decks
@@mishatpr3306 For ramp my version has Incubation Druid and Pollenbright Druid combo
Krasis?
I would trade out 2 zeganas for 2 Roalesk, Apex Hybrids. Blast Zone and Stonecoil Serpants would also work in that deck
Can't play Blast Zone with Yorvo.
A karns bastion wouldn’t be so bad in the deck as a mana dump
I was thinking about this but its rough with Yorvo and the troll. I think the proliferate is the mana dump. But maybe a one of.
That first game seemed like a 'God draw.' Fortune favors you LegenVD
No krasis?
We don't have any mana creatures, so it's not great here.
Stonecoil Serpent over yorvo
When am I not looking for magic cards.
Pls never magikarps again.
