And most of the comments below is also a perfect example of how vile and venomous humans are by enlarge - so insensitive, lacking in compassion, , quick to judge and so very unkind and love to gloat over other people's misfortunes so gleefully.. Most didn't view it as a simple story of three people whose lives were turned upside down and rendered penniless, homeless and all the hardships, pain and humiliation they had to go through as one committed suicide and the other wasted away and died alone. Most of the comments below clearly revealed so much about human nature and just how malicious and unkind we are by nature without a thought for other people's suffering - rich or poor. Despicable...
True enough. It's the same things happened to last emperor of China, Puyi. At the end, he lost his past glory due to revolution and changing of politics tides. Nobody is to blame. Without strategy you can't win against people, revolution, invader.
Their ancestors(Nawab of Awadh and Bengal) surrendered to the East India Company without even giving a fight . They made agreements with East India Company giving the Company the right to collect revenue/tax from masses in their princely State. Literally sold their territories to the East India Company in exchange for their comfort ,safety and pension.

Why are we all judging. We don't even know exactly what lives they lived. Some say laziness it could be sickness may be mentally and physically. It could be anything. Some people are strong enough but some are weak. The strong should lift up the weak and the weak should never give up. It could also be they were having pride as well but we shouldn't judge coz one day we all are going to be judged. Leave it to God, He is everyone's judge. Some people even think it's easy to live a life alone but honestly loneliness is the greatest poverty like Saint Mother Theresa said. So always show compassion to people no matter whatever they are that's the best way to love one another.

For those who are watching this right now and don't understand the story. It was recently discovered that this family was not actually royalty. They were a normal family, the father died, the mother was admitted to an asylum. She had taken unknown substances and left the hospital traumatized. That's when she ended up at a station claiming to be the queen of a lost kingdom and her two youngest children were too young to know that was a lie. The eldest son had run away when he was 14 and was discovered by a journalist in 2019 and revealed the whole truth.
Adding on there is more to the story. They were a pakistani family, this woman faked her stories mentioning political connections and got to stay in a govt house in kashmir. Before they moved to lucknow, they abandoned their elder son alone in the kashmiri house where his dead body was found decomposing years later.
Supposedly the story of abandoning the elderl son named Assad is incorrect. There's another article where one of their long time servant confirmed - the elder son died of fever while they were camping in Lucknow railway station. The elder son would go meet all the politicians for the negotiations.
We should keep and maintain our heritage. So that we can tell about it our new generation. But people dont understand the depths. All historical buildings are now Smashed by builders. History is more important then future we should understand that.
Homely meeta no body gives a shit about buildings that are zero importance or that doesn’t generate revenue. U see, we have preserved and maintained majestic architecture and artifacts like taj mahal and stuff.
Its their own mistake, pride takes you nowhere. You're a citizen of democratic country now. So many kings are still living like kings in luxury because they didn't sit ideally but decided to act. Turned half of their places as Resorts, wedding destinations, started businesses. Before government these kings fed upon the money of the commoners anyway.
@Mohammed Sultan govt didn't Confiscat anything, there are royal families who still own their palaces. Even Taj mahal is kind of under this trust which is owned by The mughal princess still alive and running the family name. Its work that keeps you the way u are leisure doesn't.
@Mohammed Sultan you know what? You only know their side of story but we don't even know if its all true, i mean how are other royal families living nicely but them? Think about it.

Then within a generation pulled ourselves back into the middle class by sheer hard work. He died in penury because he made bad life choices.
This is not the first time or the only cases. My own grandmother who is the daughter of a zamindar, belonged to a rich zamindar family in Bangladesh, the zamindar family of comilla, but she had to leave the country and come to India with her husband and children because of the riot, and now nobody believes that she was a princess because now she lives like a pauper compared to what it was before. Nothing is permanent ... Work for today ... Living in past grandeur is foolishness ... Food eaten last night doesn't fill your stomach today ... Expecting tomorrow will be as rosy as today is idiocy ... Even your own health has no guarantee for tomorrow ... Today ... Today ... Today Make best use of today
Well, lemme explain you lil more. We keep on saying present, now n all. We live in the past. When you look at yourself, it takes you 0.03 secs to identify yourself. So we are living in past by 0.03s. When we can't even live our present, what's the guarantee of future!
No matter what the comments say... the place and the little articles left behind make it so beautiful and home in a weird way! I'm just not finding the words to put it right.
Sorry to say but some people choose to live in past glory and some choose to make glory themselves. He chose the former and hence suffered. Had he worked hard he could have rebuilt his empire!
It so so sad to hear the people in the comment obsessed about their ability to lead a normal life. The ignorance and apathy people show towards mental health is literally the cruelest attitude I have seen. These people who once lead a powerful and luxurious life became homeless. Imagine the kind of shock anyone feels. Its not a different story for millions of Indians to be living on the street it's a whole different story for someone from the elite social circle. You fall from there your entire social support vanishes. Your social skills cant match with changing lifestyle you suddenly find yourself social anxious and avoidant because you associate the pain of people whp left you when your life fell apart with every person in the society. You slowly self ostracize yourself. The moment we lose our social bonds we lose our ability to survive, loneliness and isolation eats away our self confidence & self worth. Depression becomes very intense.. Nobody in such a state of mind let alone work in a job, they cannot even take care of themselves. They further isolate themselves living away from society because they literally feels they cannot connect with anyone.. Ultimately people commit suicide or die a lonely death. This is not a story of this family alone millions of people around the world suffer from social anxiety, depression, social isolation and imagine if once a royal family all powerful with the highest social status couldn't help themselves seek the right support group and treatment what will an average citizen of this country will do when they have mental health issues. Its a shame that people hear neither have any idea about the state of living with mental health. There are poor people living on the roadside with families and being happy similing and their disease is poverty and then there mental health sufferers who become poor because their diseases leaves them helpless and depressed on the street you see that is the lowest and the most painful state any human can experience to be forsaken by society, to be given up ones own self. 😥 Whoever it is whether a royal family member or not nobody deserves to die a lonely death it is the most painful thing that happenes on a planet of 7 billion people. Please have empathy and compassion
@Kechari Mudra this is so true. I once read a news article where an IIT student had committed suicide, when I read the comments section of that article, I was absolutely was shocked to see that instead of showing sympathy for the victim, the people were calling him a coward and a wimp. True enough. It's the same things happened to last emperor of China, Puyi. At the end, he lost his past glory due to revolution and changing of politics tides. Nobody is to blame. Without strategy you can't win against people, revolution, invader.
The British did this to Indian royalty but look how they treated their own.

She never claimed that she was a queen.. She said that she was a dependent of nawab
Look like royal family wasnt willing to accept the time . Government should have provided them mental counseling .
We should keep and maintain our heritage.
So that we can tell about it our new generation.
But people dont understand the depths.

I met the prince few times , its heartbreaking , their story makes me sad , rip my good freind !!
When you met and for what kindly share
What's his sources of income???
It was later revealed that he was not a prince but grandson of a govt official in pakistan and that the entire family was disillusioned
The mind is so powerful allowing a person to live in that environment and believe it to be suitable bc of "royal status"
People are sadistic and judjemental, they take joy in in others suffering
@Kechari Mudra this is so true. I once read a news article where an IIT student had committed suicide, when I read the comments section of that article, I was absolutely was shocked to see that instead of showing sympathy for the victim, the people were calling him a coward and a wimp. It was heart breaking. People simply have no idea what mental health problems are all about and what the people who suffer from them go through.
