@Lies Tricks agreed, unfortunately in the UK there are no fundamental rights protected from the government. The UK badly needs a constitution like the US and other countries.
Well it’s clearly not is it, when the evidence highlights that the majority of Americans actually support a Woman’s right to choose. It’s the tyranny of the minority against the majority. And how do we know this to be true? Because during the recent midterms many states moved to enshrine abortion protections in their constitutions and at the same time, others rejected proposals to limit abortion access or criminalize doctors in some cases. Democratic lawmakers and organizers cast the midterm elections as a referendum on Republican efforts to limit women's choices, and the notable electoral reaction represented a warning shot to future Republican efforts to restrict the procedure at the state-level. Clearly fury over the loss of federal abortion protections galvanized women and young people and delivered a string of unexpected victories for Democrats and new protections for reproductive rights. I’ll give you some examples: Voters in Montana rejected proposed legislation that would have imposed criminal penalties on health care providers who do not act to preserve the life of infants born during the course of an abortion. In Michigan, the electorate voted to enshrine abortion rights in the state's constitution, a move that helps to block a decades-old abortion ban from taking effect. The California Constitution will protect the right to an abortion after its citizens passed a ballot initiative to enshrine the right in the state's governing document. Voters in Vermont approved an amendment to the state's constitution that abortion rights supporters say will protect every person's right to make their own reproductive decisions, including about pregnancies, abortion and birth control. “Women in America made their voices heard, man. Y’all showed up and beat the hell out of them.” President Joe Biden
I always was a great admirer of Robert Winston until he expressed his ignorance of what the Roe V Wade ruling meant. It is a legal interpretation of constitutionality of a old ruling and does not stop abortion . He is guilty of dishonesty by not answering a direct question “when does life begin “ he is speaking like a politician who he himself abhors from my previous knowledge of him .
Someone has made a film about Roe v Wade exposing the dishonesty that was involved in achieving the perceived case win, despite that abortion rights are NOT enshrined in the US Constitution, a fact of which Jonathan Lord of the RCOG should be informed before making pronouncements. UK abortion laws cannot be based on faulty US law. Every US state will now be able to formulate its own legal opinion on the terms they approve for ending unwanted or unhealthy pregnancies. It is a total myth that now abortion in the US has been universally prohibited. It hasn't, although some states will wish to ban abortion completely.
Do people actually understand the US ruling on abortion? Well, now it is how it should have been. Another thing is to mind your own mess in your own country.
Why are so many people in the UK obsessed with Roe v Wade. It has nothing to do with the UK. The US gained it's independence from the British in 1776 (1783 to be pedantic), let it go. Stop worrying about matters that don't concern us.

I don't mind saying that it's a fetus & not a child until it's born but it definitely is alive before birth. 6 months 3 months & so on, once the egg is fertilised that instantly becomes a person, an undeveloped person yes but still a person. I feel that the reason why he didn't answer about foetuses & embryos, is because his work on IVF directly kills any fetus that isn't deemed the best or desired & of course the desired one is chosen to attempt to continue through the pregnancy process. Essentially he is an early term abortion doctor who chooses who shall be born. This is very different from his point of nature destroys eggs & sperm as that's a natural process of unused bio sex products (eggs & sperm)
@@Emperor-Inker But if a woman has a miscarriage people don't say, "Awwww she lost the fetus" they say, "Awwww she lost the baby." People just change words when it suits them.
