Imagine sitting down for a meal with someone who combines the sophistication of a seasoned gourmand with the warmth of a close friend. That's exactly what it's like to watch a review by Gary, our esteemed food critic. His approach to food review is nothing short of poetic, yet incredibly accessible. Gary doesn't just describe food; he paints a picture with his words. When he talks about a dish, you can almost taste the flavors, see the vibrant colors, and feel the textures. His descriptions are rich and evocative, often comparing the layers of taste to a symphony where each ingredient plays its part perfectly. He might describe a well-cooked steak as having "a charred exterior that gives way to a juicy, tender interior, bursting with smoky, savory goodness." But what truly sets Gary apart is his ability to make his audience feel completely at ease. Watching his reviews feels like you're right there with him, perhaps at a quaint bistro or an upscale restaurant, as he leans in to share his insights with a twinkle in his eye. He has this knack for making complex culinary concepts understandable without ever talking down to his viewers. Instead, he engages them with humor and personal anecdotes, making each review a delightful story rather than a mere critique. Gary's knowledge about food is extensive, spanning from the origins of certain ingredients to the intricacies of various cooking techniques. Yet, he shares this knowledge in such a way that it feels like you're learning from an old friend rather than a textbook. He might tell you about the history of a regional dish or the chef's inspiration behind a new creation, all while maintaining a conversational tone that draws you in. In essence, Gary's reviews are like sharing a meal with a companion who knows all the right questions to ask and all the best stories to tell. His passion for food is infectious, and his genuine enjoyment of the culinary arts makes every review a must-watch. Whether he's exploring the hidden gems of a city's food scene or delving into the details of a Michelin-starred menu, Gary’s reviews make you feel like you're part of the experience, savoring every bite right alongside him.

That was very considerate and respectful of you to sacrifice part of your review out of concern you might disturb your fellow diners. Perhaps it wouldn't have but you went with what felt right by your principles and that's what counts. That's one of the why you have so many of us loyal followers. We come for the food reviews, stay for the warmth, humour and gentlemanly conduct! All the best to you as always Gary.
Having read several less than flattering comments over the years on Jamie olivers restaurants it's nice to see he's improved the unfavorable 'comments have probably worked' that was really nice thank you.
Very respectful of you to stop the filming, probably didn’t need to, but shows how conscientious you both are, you could see at times how hard ‘The Cameraman’ was working to try and avoid filming others.
Another great review. Sadly, I won’t visit this establishment simply because of the way Jamie Oliver left his suppliers and staff high and dry when his empire collapsed. He should have been made to pay what he owed before being allowed to start up another business. Just morally wrong in my humble opinion. x
I went with my partner to a Jamie Oliver restaurant in Newcastle a few years ago (it's been a couple of different things since), and the experience was mediocre at best, particularly relative to the amount we paid. It's good to see that this restaurant at least appears to buck the trend, so maybe we'll see some more pop back up! Great video as always, just what we need in these trying times... honest, entertaining, wholesome content. Thank you!
@@GaryEats I found Jamie's restaurants were a magnet for little kids and pushchairs, so ,not for me, being past that stage, but his cooking shows taught me how to cook with gusto and imagination. Thanks Jamie.
Lol pay your staff.. a real chef wouldn’t be in a advertisement shilling jared food… but then again your restaurants don’t serve fresh food either famous ordered in pasta sauce lol
Great review Gary, cheers from Finland, would love to see you do a review of some good restaurant here in Helsinki. @jamieoliver, please open one of these restaurants in Finland :) preferably Helsinki :)
I'm with Marco Pierre White when it comes these celeb restaurants, when he says that if the chef whose name is over the door and is not making the food in the kitchen, then stay away!
I find that an odd thing for MPW to say. I attended a wedding plus reception at his Courtyard restaurant in Dublin and I'm pretty sure he wasn't doing the cooking; Of which there was nothing wrong.
I might be unpopular in saying this because it seems like many in the UK feel differently about Jamie, but I always enjoyed his very quick and simple way of putting a meal together. I am a bit wary of any restaurant owned by a celebrity though, so thank you for being a guinea pig today!
Very true - Just because they are a "Celebrity Chef" dosent make them a good chef. Otherwise Ronald McDonalds burgers would taste and look amazing (which they never are) - Don't be fooled by gimmicks - Just give it a try, and make your own opinion. Jamie is obviously one of the rare breed celebs who knows how to pack a punch in this field.
You are a master as a food critic, but such a lovely man when giving your reviews, i love how you relate to your viewers, keep on doing what you do best so kind and honest .😊
One of the most proper, honest and real food review channels I have subscribed to. Very fair, inspite of some restaurant owners having an infamous rep. This is a gem of a food review channel in YoutTube. Keep on keeping on! 😊
That's my kind of food, simple, top quality ingredients, no frills; I could eat that all day. Well done Gary, you and Mr Cameraman are the best channel on UA-cam, I love it. 😘
He didn't pay his staff when his old chain went bankrupt, but he managed to filter out a few million for himself in the weeks leading upto the bankruptcy.
Reminds of regional TV from back in the day when we used to welcome the TV presenters into homes and it felt like having old friends round. Lots of good things with the channel but what stands out the most is that Gary is a genuinely nice guy.
Within the industry Jamie was just a celebrity cook that was made big on TV. Many years ago I trained under a chef that made his own mark. He once told me, don't chase accolades and fame, just cook with passion. He said you could have all the AA rosettes and Michellin stars, but if your restaurant is empty everyday it means nothing in the end! It stuck with me. I was working at a small B&B in the New Forest called Gordelton Mill, and my chef was Jean Christoph Novelli. I just hope and pray that Jamie Oliver has the same humility now. It's a great review Gary, let's hope Jamie is not distracted by Sainsbury's ads or children's school meals, and a little more present and focused this time on his restaurant.
I have confirmation of how genuine Jean Christoph is from my old mate Tony Finn who currently works for him. Tony worked for Keith Floyd so we can say that he knows a bit about the restaurant business.
I'm watching Jean Christophe as a judge on Masterchef Australia. Love him. His passion for food, the encouragement and respect he gives to the contestants is admirable. You can tell it's not just for the camera, lovely man.
I believe he started out with Carluccio (hence his close relationship with Gennaro Contaldo) and then moved on to The River Cafe where the BBC was making a Christmas programme and was spotted for TV. He was a sous chef at the time, so you have to admire his confidence.
Love this channel! Though always makes me laugh when virtually every single time Gary turns to run towards the restaurant someone appears out of no-where and gets in the way 🤣
I've watched him over the years and I'd never class him as a Chef, He's a cook. Another venue where customers will expect him to be in the kitchen, yes, but he'd be washing pots whilst earning a fortune it's the actual team in the kitchen that deserve any praise including the servers.
Simple cooking is the hardest to do in a way - there's nothing to hide behind if you don't do it properly. This all looked very delicious! Great review and sublime good manners toward your fellow diners. Also, great work from the staff. Errors happen - it's about how they're handled. 😊
Hi, heidifogelberg3544. I'm a chef. That's a great phrase: 'Errors happen - it's how they are handled'. Very true - I'm gonna use it at work. Applies to many areas of life, I guess. Thanks 👍.
As usual, another great review. Thank you, Gary! I’ve been to the Jamie Oliver restaurant at Gatwick and it was absolutely dreadful. Let’s hope this one continues to keep up with the good work! Going to google the menu now…
Can't say I felt inspired to want to visit but for what it is: the location, price-point, etc., it looks like Jamie got it right here, I just hope he doesn't succumb to previous temptation and franchise it to death (and remembers to pay his staff this time)..
Yum! Love the straight forward menu. Simple and food looks delicious. Stunning interiors as well. Regardless of all the drama of his past. This place is worth the visit IMO. Great review Gary as always.
I love this video and all of your videos.. honest reviews and also that you gave the server a mention and had the decency to respect other diners shows the kind of person you are!! AWESOME!
Thanks Gary and Cameraman, Another calm, professional and thoroughly enjoyable review. I went to one of Jamies failed Italian restaurants in St Albans once and it was over price, the service was poor, and the food was mediocre. We never went back. This venture looks like he's learned a lesson or two from the past.
I took my Mum there for their soft opening. Well before it was open to the public and I have to say the food was amazing. We had the oysters, chicken sharer plate and finished off with one of the best desserts I’ve ever had, and I really do not have a sweet tooth, a rum sticky toffee pudding cake. It was otherworldly ❤️ The menus changed a bit since then but would love to go back soon to try out the new menu. Great review Gary! As always… 👍🏼
Thanks to your videos I'm going to places I read about a lot but will never see in person as I no longer live in the UK. After a hard day at work your videos provide the opportunity to relax and escape from the struggles of daily life. Thanks Gary and keep up the good work!

Jamie Olive's in Perth when it opened, was a queue around the block venue, Initially. Then all the comments came out how jammed in the venue was and how you paid top dollar for sub-par spag bog. People are not stupid, and everyone knows pasta is the cheapest food you can make. Perth is the richest city in Australia and we will give it a go, but if it's bullshit we walk away very quickly.

Great review Gary, I've never been a big fan of Mr Oliver, especially after the bankruptcy and staff going unpaid, but the meal looked good , a little bit pricey for what was there, but celeb eaterie bigger price hike. Keep the reviews coming buddy ❤
GARY MY SISTER WORKED IN A JAMIE OLIVER RESTAURANT TWO WEEKS BEFORE IT WENT BUST THEY WERE GIVEN PROMISES THEY WOULD BE PAID NEVER RECEIVED ONE PENNY LATER IT WAS REVEALED HE TOOK MONEY FROM THE RESTAURANT CHAIN LEAVING THE STAFF HIGH AND DRY
14:50 this shot with your commentary makes it look so on point on how you are highlightning the architectural projection on the inner space of the building and how that takes part of your experience - the space between mechanic human interactions when you mention the tables proves that it even has proper ergonomic design, the brickwork looks great too
First rate review, which would certainly encourage me to go and try it. The commentaries from some are worrying, not least because firstly, it isn't possible to verify the accuracy of some, and secondly, because the clear animosities are common currency in celebrity circles, but all you can do - and I'd say SHOULD do - is review your own personal experience and be the judge of that. These staff, here today, are the ones who cooked and served you, and they're the ones who deserve the positive review.
Well said, and fair, most people don’t really know what happened, but as I have worked in the restaurant business I would say this man has payed off his suppliers,or at the very least he has to pay cash when the supply’s are delivered.
Went to Jamie Italian in Oxford soon after it first opened. And it was the first one, if I remember correctly. The restaurant was so noisy from echoing because the floor was bare boards. The food was so salty it was almost impossible to eat. The price was about 15% more than Ask but the food was better at Ask.
I love watching your reviews! They are always so down to earth and informative. I don’t live in the UK but when I finally get to visit I’m definitely gonna keep some of your reviews in mind when picking places to eat.
Not so bothered about the pudding - but the starter and main course looked very good. The toast was kind-of like melba toast from the 70s...which isn't a bad thing!
Massive congrats on how quickly your channel has exploded - absolutely deserved! I just hope we get to see a Gary Eats restaurant guidebook in the not-too-distant future!
You’re a pleasant, gentle fella. I subscribed because you don’t try to be the star of the show, you don’t try to be the all knowing food critic and you’re friendly not at all arrogant. 👍
Really do like the bohemian feeling of the restaurant garden. Well done Jamie Oliver! Bearnaise sauce is actually my favorite steak sauce. As always, brilliant Mr Gary & the Cameraman ✨👍🏼
Hi Gary, good review nothing wrong with simple food cooked well in a lovely restaurant. I was a fan of Jamies when he first started and I went to his restaurant in the gentlemans club early 90s, really enjoyed. We had Jamies Italian here in Sydney and it started off being a good reliable place to eat before it went down hill. Bit like so many on the comments so disappointed that when he closed he left so many staff and suppliers out of pocket, whilst he still has his mansions. It stinks Jamie, its about having integrity and pulling the pin before it gets to that stage. As we say it wouldn't pass the pub test.Good review Gary and love your consideration for fellow diners.
Gary is very good my question is how long will this restaurant stay open!! Jamie Oliver had restaurants all over Britain then they closed owing money to even the bread suppliers so I imagine a lot of people were let down now lo n behold another restaurant opens n he even has a TV Show astonishing how he manages to get back on his feet!! I do feel for the people he let down n probably will again once a Rogue!!!
As always Gary, a thoroughly entertaining video. Your thoughts and experience of the starter have inspired me to try making something similar. I love the diversity of your videos, and they always make me hungry!! Thanks!!
Maybe jamie should pay the money he owes from all the wrongs he done . Not paying suppliers , not paying some of his staff when he left everything in limbo.. bankrupt they said... funny how he has a new restaurant in UK...and several outside of UK.. he done wrong and I'm afraid it will never wash well .. he really doesn't deserve good scores
@franciscofredericci4081 I know of 2 suppliers who are still chasing money owed from the business he shut down. I ran pubs a restaurants in the town he had jamies Italian . Over priced and 2 of his staff worked for me after he shut up shop ..they got the pay for hrs worked. But lost there holiday pay 2 weeks money.. crook mate..
Some of the comments are really interesting. Clearly, we all have different opinions. For the west end and very nice surroundings, it looked like great value to me. I like Jamie, he has a social conscience, and he works incredibly hard. I doubt he was anywhere near the kitchen, but he will be trying to ensure standards are kept. He doesn't do tasting menus or fancy stuff, but he has a fantastic pallet and understanding of flavours. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Let's hope he doesn't try to do a big chain of these because that's when it really gets hard to control and keep up standards. Good review though, thanks
He already did a chain and it went under owing millions, the taxpayer had to bail out the staff, his creditors suppliers. Tax not paid to council millions etc. got a £1 and he walked away with a separate business and his millions in tact. Loved Gary’s review though.
I must admit the interior of that restaurant looks really nice. If all the dishes on the menu are as well presented and cooked, I wouldn't mind giving it a go.
you are like a force of positive vibes, which I (new subscriber) truly enjoy. This channel is very valuable when it comes to getting ideas what food and restaurants to try when visiting the UK (and ireland). As it is, I'd die to see you review restaurants in places that are a tourist destination for *you* as well. So, save some of the tenthousands you make with YT by now and go places! Thanks for your great content.
Glad to here he's sorted his act out, went to Jamie's embassy rooms in Edinburgh ,beyond dreadful , as always great video. Love to all ,,keep them coming
Went to one of his Italian restaurants and it was really quite awful, and I'm no foodie by any means but nearly everything was wrong. When we complained it was dealt with incredibly poorly and somewhat aggressively. Nice review by Gary, but I won't ever give any more of my cash to JO again.
That’s the most you’ve ever given to a celebrity chef Gary. Fair play to him. And fair play to the two of you for another great review. Cameraman nocked it out of the park again. 👍
What I don’t understand is why people spend so much on such simple food that could be made at home for very little cost. Don’t forget that chain of restaurants fell over because they were found to be dirty. I do enjoy your videos Gary. They are really well done and you have a great camera man.
I have been watching a number of the reviews done by Gary. Unsure of his true ability to work out good food from bad, but I can say he is honest, respectful, and above all else, genuine.
Hi Gary I hope you’re having a great day…it About time one of our so called celebrity chefs got it right this time as some shamefully don’t and the Jamie Oliver’s restaurant in covent garden looked beautiful and that was a beautifully cooked steak I must admit it looked like a fantastic restaurant Gary and you expect high prices in Covent Garden don’t you and i must say that you have given us another great review and you were so nice to the staff for forgetting your sauce and my favourite sauce is definitely HP lol.. Can’t wait for your next foodie adventure always look forward to it..take care Gary..😊
Always the considerate Gentleman. I was shocked ... the food was great ... I thought it would be a bit rubbish. The restaurant was stunning. The service top class. All in all, for where you were, not a bad price either.
Hi Gary, I didn't even know Jamie Oliver, had opened a new restaurant, until you told us. I'm glad you enjoyed it, as I think Jamie Oliver, has tried to do good things in the main, as well as looking after himself and his family. I won't get involved in the arguments below, as I don't know enough to comment. Regarding favourite sauces with a steak, I like a pepper sauce, but feel that its' flavours can run over the steak. I think your choice of a Bearnaise, was good, it is a much lighter sauce, which enhances, rather than overtakes the star of the show. As ever, thanks to you and your son, for your continued good work on our behalves.
Some friends of mine took me to one of Jamie Olivers Italian restaurants for my Birthday in Manchester...King street if i remember correct. With over cooked packet pasta and tasteless sauce with terrible service for drinks, the whole night was a bust. It was a long time back but even today i cannot forgive or look at Jamie Oliver !
Hi Gary, I remember visiting a Jamie Oliver restaurant back in 2015, in central London. I'm sure it has long closed now & was part of his old chain. It was a very average meal for well over £200 for two of us. I've never thought much of Jamie Oliver to be honest & I know he had scandals around not paying suppliers & staff, but most importantly, this is a "Gary Eats" review & my favourite UA-cam channel, so let's give it a go! ☺️ Your son did lovely shots there at the start of the video & the restaurant is beautiful. The food looked pretty good, simple presentation but nicely done. I know it can be difficult to film when you're sitting inside & a restaurant is getting busier, but you did a great job & you're careful not to interrupt other people, which is very much to you & the camera man's credit. Excellent quality review & you gave a fantastic description for each of the dishes. A score of 8.5 seemed bang on, based on what you said & how the meal looked on screen. Take care Gary & look forward to the next one. 💙
Yes, I agree with you totally. You made a lovely genuine comment that Sums up my feelings and many others. It is always a nice treat to see Gary really enjoying good food. 😊❤. What a nice level headed guy. 😂.
@@honey23b2 Thanks so much! You always know it's going to be a great quality review from Gary & simply an enjoyable 20ish minute video, regardless of the restaurant or location. My only problem is that my comments are usually too long & Gary typically has a couple of thousand comments on every video to get through! I should learn! 😅
Thank you very much Erin, as always you make lovely comments. I wasn’t aware that Jamie didn’t pay stuff otherwise I’ve probably wouldn’t have done this review. I am getting a little on this one which is probably well-deserved. All round the restaurant was excellent. The staff were brilliant and the food was very good. I hope you’re well and have a great week.
You personally did a great review . As many of us seem to be saying wouldn't pay for a meal with that fella . Some wrongs are just to much . I wonder if hes reinstated the staff he treated bad ? X
It's funny to me because here in Spain that starter (Ham off the bone, crispy olive drizzled tostado and some olives) would be a 2 Euro tapas plate at any farmers cafe bar. Also, IMHO, steak should be naked...no sauce for me
I agree. People wouldn't pay much more. And quality is excellent. I love the lightness and variety. Though eating out is a rare treat for now. However, I thought this gentleman reviewed very impressively. Gave detail exactly as people want to see/ hear. And very nice man ,imo. I'd watch more videos for sure. Discretion is key..if I walk into a restaurant or any shop and see cameras,I do a U turn! Maybe blur out other customers faces, or sneak into a private corner!!! :-) Very good quality review, lovely manner and knowledgeable. ( oh and steak ,my sauce preference is simple garlic herb non salted butter) Best wishes
Perhaps a more exciting name could be ‘Jamie’s restaurant built from the tears of my shafted staff’😂 can’t get the fact that after his chain went bankrupt owing small business and staff, him and his wife were showing off his new huge mansion in a magazine shoot. Tasteless at best. Another fine vid though Gary
The demise of Jamie Oliver’s restaurant empire didn’t surprise me. I went to 3 and they were all bad. I had to send my steak back at the one in Shepherd’s Bush! Very sensible of him to focus on fewer outlets and get the quality control right.
I made the mistake of ordering a steak at one of Jamie’s in Milton Keynes years ago. It was awful. I should have known better . I’m used to steaks from Gaucho, Hawksmoor and Miller&Carter. Different experience all together at Jamie’s 🙁🙁
The administrators took on the debts. Depends what was available to recover. Bankruptcy is a complex matter.. Many other TV personalities went the same way and now back on top with the help of TV chef programs. One was a Green grocer. He owed plenty. Was even worse.
I went to fifteen for my 18th in 2006 and have to say it was really good. I had the swordfish with a Romesco sauce. But I agree Jamie is over hyped and washed up
Gary, another lovely review and good to see that celebrity-owned restaurants can sometimes surprise on the good side. I've not eaten for two days owing to a self-inflicted foot injury whilst in London, so I may now try and hobble to my kitchen and cobble something together to eat! 😋
I dont think Jamie actively "ripped people off" - why would a business try and do this? simply does not make sense. Other factors come into play when a business is struggling. Sometimes it's a series of "bad hires", or local council rates increasing, or a poor menu.
What a lovely venue. That thin toast is called Melba toast.... Well it was in my chef days. I went off of Jamie but you have restored my confidence in him . You're such a gentleman and very aware of other peoples feelings. Bless you. Thank you for sharing sweet xx😊
@@GaryEats You're very welcome Gary. That is what it was called in my days but as you know names change. Thank you for sharing another super video and also thank you to your dear son too. Have a lovely evening sweet xx😊
I worked in that building before it was sold to Andrew Lloyd Webber and converted into flats, an office for the theatre and now Jamie’s restaurant. The building had many mice problems over the years - I doubt that they’ve managed to deal with them now it’s a restaurant…
@@JanetBrown-px2jn I saw your comment and have taken time to reflect as i agree and I think it was perhaps unnecessary to have added my original comment. That said I did work in the building for 8 years, and there were mice throughout the building and it was just offices at the time. The whole of the Covent Garden area has mice and/or rats (nearby Tesco and TGIs just down the road were previously closed for infestations) and I have seen mice in drury lane theatre before (next door to Jamie’s). Nothing to suggest that they are in his restaurant, but the whole area has problems which predate his restaurant and probably reflect the fact that there are many restaurants in the area and the area was historically a fruit and veg market
@@Sleepysod I understand what you are saying as I worked in NYC in restaurants right over the subway system, and it does take a lot of work keeping the rats out,it’s an on going battle, that our the city is trying very hard to win.i still think though we can’t assume that a restaurant has mice,or rats, just because it’s located in a big city,or right over the subway tracts. As it’s many years since I worked in a big bakery in the UK,I don’t know how often your health department visits every individual restaurant,or how well they check the restaurants out,but here it’s very often, and they spend a very long time looking into every corner,so I am not really worried when I eat out.
So polite of you not to film when others were close by. How considerate. Thanks Gary xx

He might describe a well-cooked steak as having "a charred exterior that gives way to a juicy, tender interior, bursting with smoky, savory goodness."
But what truly sets Gary apart is his ability to make his audience feel completely at ease.
That was very considerate and respectful of you to sacrifice part of your review out of concern you might disturb your fellow diners. Perhaps it wouldn't have but you went with what felt right by your principles and that's what counts.

Having read several less than flattering comments over the years on Jamie olivers restaurants it's nice to see he's improved the unfavorable 'comments have probably worked' that was really nice thank you.
This was a really good experience, Charles
Very respectful of you to stop the filming, probably didn’t need to, but shows how conscientious you both are, you could see at times how hard ‘The Cameraman’ was working to try and avoid filming others.
Thanks very much James
Another great review. Sadly, I won’t visit this establishment simply because of the way Jamie Oliver left his suppliers and staff high and dry when his empire collapsed. He should have been made to pay what he owed before being allowed to start up another business. Just morally wrong in my humble opinion. x

I went with my partner to a Jamie Oliver restaurant in Newcastle a few years ago (it's been a couple of different things since), and the experience was mediocre at best, particularly relative to the amount we paid.

I don't like drinking booze with food. I prefer water. AFTER a meal though, I could drink a town dry.
I'm with Marco Pierre White when it comes these celeb restaurants, when he says that if the chef whose name is over the door and is not making the food in the kitchen, then stay away!
the irony is that Marco has one in London which is terrible apparently

I find that an odd thing for MPW to say. I attended a wedding plus reception at his Courtyard restaurant in Dublin and I'm pretty sure he wasn't doing the cooking; Of which there was nothing wrong.
@@TheSkids1234 Gary, that also doesn't surprise me Lol 😂
I might be unpopular in saying this because it seems like many in the UK feel differently about Jamie, but I always enjoyed his very quick and simple way of putting a meal together. I am a bit wary of any restaurant owned by a celebrity though, so thank you for being a guinea pig today!

Reminds of regional TV from back in the day when we used to welcome the TV presenters into homes and it felt like having old friends round. Lots of good things with the channel but what stands out the most is that Gary is a genuinely nice guy.
That is a really lovely comment thank you very much
Within the industry Jamie was just a celebrity cook that was made big on TV.
Thank you for your comment
@badbadger70 Jean Chrisoph Novelli was a huge star in the late 1990s and a great chef

As ever, thanks to you and your son, for your continued good work on our behalves.

Hi Gary, I remember visiting a Jamie Oliver restaurant back in 2015, in central London. I'm sure it has long closed now & was part of his old chain. It was a very average meal for well over £200 for two of us. Your son did lovely shots there at the start of the video & the restaurant is beautiful. 💙

Tasteless at best. Another fine vid though Gary
Jamie recently added 3 bedrooms to his already large house so now there are 9. How cool is that ?
Thank you
I have worked in Gary roads city roads I'm a Chef 👨🍳 and went to see phantom of the opera and took my wife to Jamie's we loved it ❤️ thank you Gary
That is fantastic thank you for letting me know, Alan
The demise of Jamie Oliver’s restaurant empire didn’t surprise me. I went to 3 and they were all bad. I had to send my steak back at the one in Shepherd’s Bush! Very sensible of him to focus on fewer outlets and get the quality control right.
Not good Matt. Very disappointing to hear regarding his staff as well, I did not know that
I made the mistake of ordering a steak at one of Jamie’s in Milton Keynes years ago.
But I agree Jamie is over hyped and washed up
that thin toasted bread is called a crostini, very nice!
Was very tasty
Actually a crostini is a small slice of bread with a topping, those bread slices didn’t really qualify.
great upload - personally won't give Oliver any of my patronage because of his past behaviours when going bust.
Yes Roman didn't know that prior to filming, disappointing to hear
@@GaryEats Not your fault mate - wasn't being critical of the vid. Loved it. Keep them coming sir. Thanks
Gary, another lovely review and good to see that celebrity-owned restaurants can sometimes surprise on the good side. I've not eaten for two days owing to a self-inflicted foot injury whilst in London, so I may now try and hobble to my kitchen and cobble something together to eat! 😋
I am so sorry to hear that. Nothing too serious. I hope you take care and be careful.
I did notice the staff hung around you alot when u were eating steak
I didn't know that lol
Yes around 9.00 they were.
You need to get down to the Devonshire Soho for a Sunday Roast, also their daily set menu is seriously excellent value!
Yes heard it's excellent there
Well if your a limited company you can rip as many people off as you want and not liable only company assets.
pukka
I need to read a mis understanding of the role of corporate Ltd liability in the growth of business because?
I dont think Jamie actively "ripped people off" - why would a business try and do this? simply does not make sense. Other factors come into play when a business is struggling. Sometimes it's a series of "bad hires", or local council rates increasing, or a poor menu.
Gary you are a gentleman respect for the other customers ❤
I always try to show respect to other diners Brendan as they are spending their hard earned money as well. You have a fantastic week.
What a lovely venue. That thin toast is called Melba toast.... Well it was in my chef days. I went off of Jamie but you have restored my confidence in him .
You're such a gentleman and very aware of other peoples feelings. Bless you. Thank you for sharing sweet xx😊
Thanks for letting me know Butterfly, I didn't know the name of it so really appreciate it
@@GaryEats You're very welcome Gary. That is what it was called in my days but as you know names change. Thank you for sharing another super video and also thank you to your dear son too. Have a lovely evening sweet xx😊
@GaryEats Melba toast great with pates. It's stale bread thinly sliced and crisped in oven.
@@jennifertselentis4755 That's right. I had to make the pate and absolutely loved it on the Melba toast. x 😊
@@butterflydiva1Yes indeed,pate,and Melba toast ,delicious 😊
I worked in that building before it was sold to Andrew Lloyd Webber and converted into flats, an office for the theatre and now Jamie’s restaurant. The building had many mice problems over the years - I doubt that they’ve managed to deal with them now it’s a restaurant…
The rat is probably the chef kind of like the movie Ratatouille.
That Webber guy is all sorts of weird,
That comment about mice was an unnecessary, and unkind thing to say.
