The future large Casablanca stadium will have a capacity of 115,000 seats to accommodate all forms of organization and mass sporting and cultural events, and designed in accordance with the most recent requirements of international football, in occurrence of the FIFA 2030 standards.
In this sense, an architectural competition for the design, technical studies and monitoring of construction work on the stadium was launched very recently by the National Society for the Development and Management of Sports Equipment (Sonarges).
The site chosen for the future large stadium is located in the province of Benslimane, in the commune of Mansouria, 38 km from Casablanca, and 18 km from Mohammedia, near Benslimane airport.
The site covers a very large area of 100 ha. The surface area of the pitch will include the stadium program with its ancillary facilities as well as additional facilities and equipment. The available land base will also be able to accommodate a possible subsequent expansion or redevelopment of the project.
The stadium area and its enclosure will include, among other things, a grassy playing area, approved for FIFA, covered stands with a capacity of around 115,000 seated spectators, as well as additional premises intended for athletes. and officials (players, referees, delegates, etc.), operators and organizers (ticketing, storage, etc.) and spectators (sanitary facilities, catering, points of sale and shops). Social spaces linked to the stands (boxes, lounges) and rooms intended for the media are also on the program.
At the edge of the enclosure, various additional facilities are planned such as ticketing and accreditation centers as well as an international broadcast center (IBC). Four FIFA-approved training grounds are also on the program, as well as a technology complex and control rooms, a waste management center, an outdoor hospitality village, commercial spaces and spectator parking.
On the same 100 ha plot, additional sports and leisure facilities which will contribute to the attractiveness of the stadium for the local, regional and national population and its influence on an international scale are planned. These include a 25,000-seat athletics stadium, an indoor sports hall, an Olympic swimming pool, a convention and exhibition center, a shopping center, a park and a hotel.
Strategic objectives have been assigned to the future large Casablanca stadium. According to the competition program, the aim is first to strengthen Morocco's sports infrastructure by building unique equipment, due to its architectural and technical quality, which reflects the modernization of the country's sports infrastructure. , with the major function of hosting major sporting competitions on a national and international scale. It is also about creating an offer with a wide range of sporting practices and modalities ranging from sporting excellence to leisure activities for the general public. This major infrastructure also aims to provide the region with an attractive place on an urban scale and contribute to its development, by allowing the organization of large-scale sporting, economic, cultural and artistic events.
Finally, it is a question of using new construction technologies in the sports field by integrating new developments in engineering, construction materials, energy saving.
