@@jrockyhill Ahaa, thnx for replying! Great video as well, thnx for sharing. After a Wild fire in my area that killed 8 over the last week Im slowly working through fire videos trying to educate myself a bit more on how you guys deal with it and how we civilians should deal with it. Scary stuff! Seems like fleeing well ahead of time is really the only good option. A tiny bit of the Fire here caught us by surprise and it was scary as hell! My new worst fear for sure! Even though youre on the other side of the world from me I just want to say thank you for choosing this job. All you guys are incredible!
Use that nice remote controlled nozzle on the front bumper and drive around spraying. Also if the fire is burning between 2 roads, just concentrate on the head then go mop up.
the highway is a man made barrier no need to waist fuel and water when it was going to die at the edge of the road anyway . but you did fight from the black so good job on that.
CrazyAmazingHD yeah but it probably wasn't possible to burn across the road because it's all short grass but they did the right thing because you should just put it right out instead of tying up resources just to let it burn freely
I am good with knocking out that flank along the road. First, wont take much water to do it and it will calm the smoke down faster, reducing the hazard along the road.
I agree with putting flames out first. It reduces the possibility of burning embers flying in the wind by more than 90%. It also cuts down the smoke, making the situation for road users and firefighters a whole lot safer.
If it is burning up against the road and is just creeping then that is not where you want to be expending your water. Cut the damn fence and work on the other flank.
Fires along roads, interstates, highways should be put out because it's going to cause long delays and closing of the road if smoke builds up too much you can't drive safely.
And thats how a cigarette flung from a car starts a wild fire!
Sometimes for sure. Wheel bearing went out of a trailer tire came off the spindle dug into the highway

james ware if it crossed the road it would have burned alot of shit down.

@@sebbykaiser6466 short grass dont mean anything. A good gust of wind could carry an ember from the grass a long distance. Ive seen it happen before.

What was the dash cam view from?
Oklahoma Emergency my POV the fire was just north of my house about 3 miles
I want your job!
Its pollution
GoldModdy what are you talking about?

Where’s the other brush trucks is it only 1 like tf
We have four stations that are anywhere from twelve to fifteen miles apart this fire was within 4 miles of the first station
jrockyhill well coudnt another station dispatch out another brush
@@ChasRize there were several other trucks coming but we got it under control and turn them around
jrockyhill ok good to know
Should you guys wear a mask? all that some???
Well some places you only use masks for house fires like here in australia
@@DiamondriverPlays No we use masks here in Australia, but I think its more of an option for the firefighters, not a requirement.
Fog the nozzle more. Great job.
@ 6 min what........taking a break?
Bob Rosso that was my PV that I arrived on scene with I just turned on my camera and ran up to the truck
Why don’t they just let it burn as long as it don’t burn any ones crops or houses or kill any animals
Still have to put it out people get to watching it along interstate and then we have wreck's

Well ok. But I've don't controlled burns and it just hurts your eyes and you gag but it is not really pollution
how boring of a job, I'd be bored as fuck honestly.
